Let's pretend a mama rabbit grabs the fox by the tail and pulls him away from her baby. The fox frantically scrambles about trying to free himself from her clutches. You may have seen a cartoon character scramble about in a panic many times before but how do you plan this specific timing on the animation that will make it believable. The answer lies in shooting a pose test every so often to be sure your action is not mushy or slow.Additionally, there will be some parts of your action that will need to be animated on 1's. Always remember to start your scene by visualizing the scramble action before you put pencil to paper.

Mr. Bluth, you are the single greatest inspiration I have as an animator. You are a great teacher, and these videos are some of the most helpful lessons I have ever had in animation. Not that the teachers I've had are bad, it just reaches a whole new level when it is taught from the master. Thank you for creating some the best animated movies in history, they really are something to aspire to.

Let's hope you never lose your touch. The Secret of N.I.M.H. is by far my most favorite 2D animated film ever.

This is so nice, to see some one so talented animating, I love the time lapse too, that way you can see the whole process, this video should really be used by teachers in animation classes. Students can go for years at school and never learn what this video teaches them in 5 minutes.

This is really incredible. Having an eye for depth when animating a ball can be tough enough to master, but to master an eye for depth with organic structure seems to just take years upon years.
