3 components to the assembly:
1. Housing - with 2 seals, fixing ring
2. Spherical Bearing
3. Adapter Sleeve - including Lock Washer and Nut
This video reviews the features of the housing (pry slot, oil relief channel, solid base, etc.), how to measure the internal clearance, fixed vs. float bearings, and mounting the assembly to the shaft. We'll also show how to make final adjustments and review installation tips.

Thank you sir, the video explained the installation very well.
It's really helpful to use, how the parts were going to be place and where it will been installed...you just clear my doubt with single video...Tq ❤
thanks lot to share this kind of practical video, we expect more. ..
Well explained, it makes a lot of sense, I didn't know about clearance part at all.
its very informative video....
very nice explained.
every body can easily understand.
thank u so much making such a video
very good Assembling techniques and servicing .
Very informative and nicely explained. Thank you so very much. Namaste....
Great informative video Sir.. Thanks for the video!
For new engineers, in real life situations, the bearing is almost always assembled in the bearing housing and not dropped in after, although I wish it was. When assembling a bearing in its housing in a real life situation never take a reading with the feeler gauge in one place and lock off, turn the assembly every so often and take a measurement as you tighten, it will make a difference. Also when knocking the locking tab down, don’t drive it all the way home, ( it will be easier to lift it up later ). When greasing the bearing push it in from one side of the race until you see it coming through to the middle, then grease the other side. Great classroom video though.👍
Hi Mr How are you.
Why the bearing fire I'm replacing 4 bearing but also fire can give me of cause please.. thanks so much.
Thank you so much for the important and helpful video
Very beautiful explanation .🙏
Thanks sir ur a future maker......
perfect explanation...thank you
Very Nice video and presentation is Perfect 👌👌👌👌
Thank you
This vedio very use full to beginning Engineer. Good vedio sir.
Wow well explained I wish i was your apprentice
I can only understand some parts, it is professional works. I'm from China. This engineer is so great!
Excellent video. Thank you
Thank you much sir
Please make video of FSNL series housing assembly
Tnx sir...plz make a video on bearing clearance
thank you for information
I’ve never tightened a bearing outside of the housing. While working on site it’s almost impossible to do so. Also for the floating bearing you have to make sure you account for the taper lock and the fact the bearing will move on the taper. Has to be almost pushed to one side in certain situations so the bearing has room for expansion side to side
thanks you sir for this leçon
That was a brilliant video

Very good explanation sir please make more videos related field.
Does the locknut positions (arrangement) in DE and NDE plummer blocks has any affect on bearing reliability. Should they be in opposite or same direction
A question about regreasing. Does a bearing housing like this, not filled full with grease, work as an (air) pump and still eject grease? Or does regular regreasing gradually fill up the housing up to a point that it is so full the grease cannot move anywhere but past the seals?
Explained clearly...
Thank you so much...
Expecting more videos from you Sir
Please don't expect 😭
Thanks for this video.
Wow nicely explained ❤
This was an amazing video. Can we have one on lubrication maintenance? How much grease do you put in and how often?
Enferno Muzik oil is half way up lowest rolling element so half way and grease is just before it would seap out the other side
Fantastic work ❤❤⭐👍🏻👌
Good job
Thanks you sir very very so much.
Awesome vedio.
Thank you sir
Parabéns pelas informações.

Good explanation, it helped me a lot to change and check bearings and pillow blocks to change them, but I have a question, where can I find the specific measurements of the bearing set.
Sir you are great
Venturi high speed fans for exhaust is where I see this the most. 4" shaft the biggest so far. Remember to have the fan clean and balanced once twice a year
Excellent
professional!
goood video, thanks for the information
thank you
Very clearly thank you
สุดยอดไปเลย ผมจะเรียนรู้ต่อไปครับ
Thank you very much.I think the fit between bush and shaft is too loose. You adjust the clearance and loose the nut. After that you slide the bush onto the shaft EASILY and this makes a contribution to premature failure. You can not tighten the nut more after putting the bush on its original position otherwise the clearance will be decreased.
thank you sir,it was an excellent explanation. I WOULD LIKE TO INVITE THE LORD TO TAKE A GOOD CACHAÇA IN BRAZIL
It was a good envite.kkkk
Thank you sir
thank you very much.
thanks, leslie nielsen!
Thanks
Thanks for this video.
I have just one comment on your clearance measurement that you should measure 3 points (3, 9 o’clock and 12 or 6 o’clock direction) and divide the sum by 2 to get a correct clearance. For more info, you can get it from p.52 of SKF bearing maintenance handbook.
Why measure if this cleaner is fix what he try measuring
thanks... if I don't have a feeler or I don't want use it, but I tighten the nut against the bearing by hand, how many turn I can tighten the nut more by the spanner wrench ? I have seen in a video that I need to turn it 120°, is that right?
please make a video for installting an adaptor sleeve and lock nut assembly for free hanging shafts. with and without upward axial thrust for RPM 50 to 200 rpm under pressure conditions. Example being a process reactor for chemcial process and reaction
Oh
How about 1000 rpm 😅
Thanks dear sir
What is done as far as "re-greasing" is concerned? Does there need to be a grease relief port for online re-greasing in high speed applications? Or will it just push out through the labryinths?
Oil lubrication
Oil for high speed, grease for low speed
very nice video but which of the two bearing is fixed and floating bearing?
Closest to the driven side
Great explanation . Thank you But if we doing like this some times bearing getting heat up to 65 degree cent grade why ? Which thing will cause to raising temperature please Explain.
GADDAM JAIPAL REDDY overhearing is caused from several things but a few common issues we see are over greasing. Another very important thing to note that over tightening a bearing is almost always worse than under tightening. It causes the bearing to drag, which causes temps to skyrocket and premature bearing failure. Third but often common is bad alignment. Either the bearing housing is not square to bearing or shaft alignment is bad. That can cause high temps and failure too.
@@AdamSmith-uv6kr Over greasing? are you out of your fucking mind
I’m a Millwright at a potash refinery. Had a bearing like that get flagged as running hot pulled the cap and scooped out the top. Dropped 40 f.
@@zuestoots5176 too much can take out a bearing. I change these exact style out quite a bit, and you’d be surprised, it happens a lot.
@@Ian-of9oi aye! Right on man. Millwright apprentice here in Oregon. Cheers

The bearings appear to still move on the shaft after you've tightened the adapter, what holds the shaft from moving left to right?
I don’t think he actually tightened it down. Just demonstrated the process
Very good❤❤❤❤
Hello a question the adapter sleeve should still move on the shaft after clearance has been done?
No, as you tighten the locking nut the sleeve grips the shaft and the bearing clearance decreases, so if you tighten the nut until you get the correct clearance by default the sleeve will be locked onto the shaft.
Having high axial vibration in sleeve mounted roller bearing drive end side of ID FAN.. WHAT should be done?
Hell yeah dude.
Now I know what my English students feel.
There's a lot of pieces & materials that I need to translate to my first languate, not to mention we often call the same thing in 2 or even 3 different ways around here.
Is it optimal to oil these bearings or use grease?
That’s going to depend on quite a few things, what kind of load, rpm, stuff like that. At my work, we have ones for arbors that we oil feed while running, and others on a grease schedule. Skf have a lot of good info on their site, not sure if they still send free info packets by mail or not, but you can get pdf files Freon them for free too.
Como extraerlo de un eje y que estrabado el manguito.
for one side like tjis work temperature about 80 Celsius .. 24 Time work... how many grass we need?
We have a mill with Timken FSAF520 bearings. These use grease and not oil correct? A drain plug on bottom of housing has me wondering.
Also, what's recommended greasing interval? I'm guessing every 8 hours.
Mill's can either be grease or oil bath. Most housing will have the drains in them and just plug them in the event going with grease. Depending on the size of the mill normally larger mills, will be oil and smaller ones grease. Due the cost of adding a lube skid vs times needed greased a day.
Sir my question is...does the sleeve became tight with shaf? Other wise sleeve and bearing can't rotate along with the shaft... Pls give a replay.. I don't know
yes shaft and sleeve must tight in last video shown wrong
Buen video, pero lo mejor para medir el juego interior , seria pasar la laina por los dos rodillos ya que se podria inclinar asi un solo lado y podria dar una medida equivocada
FIRST THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO
SECOND IF POSSIBLE TAKE ALL MEASURING ON SHAFT OF PUMP FOR (BEARINGS , KEYS, SLEEVES & MECHANICAL SEALS )
Why no any lock system for rotating side labyrinth seal?
Super blog
I have been working in maintenance department for thirty five years, still I was not knowing measuring bearing clearance during assembly is necessary. Thanks for nice video.

Which metal plumber block has made???
Gray cast iron... I do repair it..difficult... Some are spheroidal cast.
Ok sir, but I have little problem . I show your bearing moves, it’s possible
How do you know which bearing will be the float vs the fixed. To know in which bearing you should install the fixing ring. I really want to know
Normally the NDE bearing is the one you leave with float
Cuanto es la tolerancia? De la laina
Dear sir any drawing for dismetle by step in mention drawing???
99% ok, solo que el anclaje hay que hacerlo dentro de la cajera y en su posición eje real., si no es así el eje se desplazara. Tercera Ley de Newton. Destrozara la trurbina por completo. Si es una turbina.
