Love being paid to attend teaching for a change 😂 psych seems nice and chill! How have you found it now that you are coming to the end of the rotation?

Yess teaching is one of my most favourite things now because we get paid for it haha. It's a bit daunting if I am being honest. Psychiatry is known as one of the chiller rotations so it was nice to ease into working life. Psychiatry as a whole has a good work life balance, good continuity of care with patients, nicer environment to work in. It does however require a lot of patience to be able to take long histories. I think I want something a bit more faster paced personally! Now I'm going onto gastroenterology which is going to be a lot more intense with on calls, nights and weekends so should be fun

@@DoctorDevify oh yes I absolutely remember the hour-long histories from med school😳it’s nice that you’ve had a good transition into FY1. Also mental health issues come up in every aspect of medicine no matter which specialty you’re in so your experience will be invaluable. Good luck with your next gastro rotation!

Well done for graduating fellow IC graduate! Just a pity you've joined the most abusive hospital trust in the UK, NHFT. My wife went to them for help after reporting her abuser to the police. They wasted years of her life putting her on mind altering medication that caused substantial physical health issues. They never helped her mental health at all. Things ended up with NHFT breaching her confidentiality in several ways. Of course they then stated they were allowed to do it anyway, forcing us to take them to court. In their defence documents it became clear there were several more breaches than we knew. Of course they lost the case, my wife was awarded £1250, with a further £750 out of court for the other breaches uncovered in their evidence. It took two years for Angela Hillery to actually apologise properly and that was only in case we embarrassed her when she was awarded a CBE. Oh yes their barrister stated in court that people with mental health issues are not entitled to compensation for confidentiality breaches as they are prone to getting upset. To me this sums up NHFT, they do not have a single ounce of respect for any patients, they are simply after their huge 6 figure salaries.
