Interesting story, I hate that some parents thought they needed to ‘toughen up’ their sons. Epilepsy, mistreatment, and mental illness didn’t do anything to help him. I do not excuse any of it. The authorities should have hospitalized him and kept him there.
Exactly. He was most likely just a normal gay boy, possibly a crossdresser or even trans, and just wanted to enjoy his life with lovely dresses and girly things he saw all the girls his age were doing too. There's no doubt that the military school abused him, because they're all abusive and always has been. Instead of letting him be himself (or herself, of course), they would have forced horrible tortures on him as a way to "toughen him up." Child abuse like this always ends up destroying the child to the point of murder. While his crimes are horrible and he deserved punishment, the adults in his life who forced torture onto him deserved worse than what he got. They're the ones who made him what he became, and they're the ones who truly murdered all those boys and men. Except you know that Hannibal Lector is a fictional character, so you are comparing him to actor Anthony Hopkins. His only resemblance to Adolph Hitler is the 'toothbrush' mustache. Haarmann sounds like an "incarnation" of Jeffrey Dahmer... Thank you, Mr. Brodie, for your riveting stories and narration. I appreciate your respect for all the victims.
I've found a lot of serial killers, like Haarmann and John Wayne Gacy, have abusive childhoods. It is definitely no excuse for committing such horrible crimes, but you have to wonder what the knock-on effects of it are.
Excellent video on a crime I've never heard of before and another reason why the Charlie Chaplin 'stache went out of fashion. There should be a warning that states, you may not want to be eating bangers and mash while watching this segment.
First, I could listen to you talk all day. All month. Read a soup can label, stop sign, whatever😊. I really enjoy your channel and this story about Fritz, especially. There is so much to be said for people who turn into monsters usually having a monstrous lifethemselves. Does that excuse their actions? Certainly not.i just feel more and more sad for the things the human race does to its own, individually and collectively.
Well documented. I am just always amazed and saddened when I hear that police swept information under the rug or didn't believe someone who they deemed to be less believable. The women knew. Maybe if they had been given the respect they deserved several other men and boys would not have died in 1923 and 1924 before he was caught.
The narration is the creepiest of all. The calm tone and pacing feels more at home in a child's story, but it is a story that no child should ever hear.

I prefer to think of Hanover in more joyful terms... birthplace of my VW!🥰
I think you are meaning "succeeding" (subsequent) when you are saying "preceding" but other than that, great video, thank you!
Haarmann sounds like an "incarnation" of Jeffrey Dahmer... Thank you, Mr. Brodie, for your riveting stories and narration. I appreciate your respect for all the victims.
I read a book over 50 years ago in that he was called the Hanover vampire
I've found a lot of serial killers, like Haarmann and John Wayne Gacy, have abusive childhoods. It is definitely no excuse for committing such horrible crimes, but you have to wonder what the knock-on effects of it are.
So have a lot of people. They aren't killers.
Since abuse runs in the family, there may be a genetic component.
So probably did Haarnan's young victims. If they had great supportive parents they wouldn't have had to prostitute themselves to survive.
Sounds like a wonderful chap to share a dinner with.
Well, I never heard of this MONSTER before and glad I hadn't. In this crazy world we now live, I am more fearful than ever to leave my home!
Sending your son, who's into girly things, to a military school surrounded by lots of boys... good plan👍
Fascinating story...
Excellent video on a crime I've never heard of before and another reason why the Charlie Chaplin 'stache went out of fashion. There should be a warning that states, you may not want to be eating bangers and mash while watching this segment.
A great story again, ppl like that really leave a impression dont they, they write books about them even a film is made, and they appear on YT 😊
I love your videos 💗.
