Great Stirrup Cay is more like " It's Okay Stirrup Cay"...Don't get me wrong, it's a beautiful island, they have great food but seeing what competitors like Ocean Cay, Castaway Cay and of course Perfect Day at Coco Cay, I'm just saying they could use wayyyyy more fun and implement better bar service.....So...what did we think about the baby cups lol?
I’m so glad you two are making the best of your time together. Everything isn’t perfect, but memories can still be made! I love your “mom” hat, Alyssa❤
as a floridian with 87 cruises around the world under our belts - this destination is a casual understaffed island - too crowded but again on short cruises nothing can be expected to be high standard. we love NCL, but love Holland, have done a bunch of carnival (least fav) and love RC or Celebrity. moved to arizona 2020 so no more quick florida cruises. dirty nassau one of our favs over the years just for quick weekends from canavaral.
It was great seeing guys cruising again. We always appreciate the way you show both the pros as well as cons of the cruise ships youre on. We sailed on NCL in 2019 and had a great time. We were shocked to see some of the affects of under staffing. Again Thanks!
Glad you're enjoying your time together. We were on the Epic in March and it was the worst NCL sailing we've ever done. Of course we enjoyed our time with our family group, but the service was lack luster and the main dining was not great. We're taking a break from NCL for a while.
I've found that on GSC, the only way to go is to rent one of the cabanas. But that was back before the prices went through the roof! (I'm also a fan of the Lighthouse bar, which is a little bit hidden and never as busy as the Bacardi bar.)And like you guys, I'm a BIG fan of the Sugarcane Mojito bar. During my recent sailing on the Gem, I went there just about every night for a pre-dinner drink... er, drinks. As far as the main dining rooms are concerned, on the bigger NCL ships I tend to try and hit the Manhattan Room. Despite having the same menus as the others, it FEELS more like a specialty-restaurant experience because of the decor and the fact they sometimes have live music.
I just got off the scape yesterday . And believe me , we will never cruise Norwegian again Dirty towels in our cabin , not enough towels to go to Harvey caye ( that was beautiful place by the way) 1 hr to disembark with no a/c Etc , etc
The one thing that kept me from NCL over Royal all the time that I have cruised, was NCL upcharges a lot of stuff. BUT, we learned to take the drink pkg... b/c that seems to save us in the end - buy a thing of water, and not have to worry about that at least. We don't generally do the other upcharge stuff, so it is all good for us moving past the drinks. OHHH... I see sunglasses... (squirrel>>>)
Sorry you had so many negative experiences on NCL as it was our first cruise experience and we love the Cruise line and have sailed on 3 soon to be 4 NCL ships and 2 Celebrity cruises and soon to sail on another one yet had a mixed review on our first Royal cruise ever onboard Navigator of the Seas this past New Year’s Eve. It’s definitely very personal regarding the pros and cons on different Cruise Lines. We will definitely give Royal another chance in the future 👍
Tender tickets is new. Never heard of that. Last cruise the private island was Belize and everything was pay, drinks, food , everything. All local venders. It was a surprise for sure.
NCL had to make a deal with the country when they bought the island. They have to make pay as you go because the country wanted a portion of the revenue.
I was to this Island 3 years ago and they used to have servers come around and bring drinks to the beach chairs a lot of them now I just went on a cruise 2 weeks ago and they completely had zero servers being drinks I had to get up off my beach chair and go to the drink Hut and get drinks. They also used to have three years ago servers bringing around fruit on a stick. Nowhere to be found on that last cruise
Morning guys. Happy Sunday. Wow. Lots of loungers on that beach for being on the 9th tender. I would think any cruise ships own island would have bar servers walking throughout the beach. A 35 minute wait on line? 🫤. Glad the drinks and food was tasty. Dinner looked yummy. Thanks for sharing and see you next video.
We were on the encore in Alaska 5/7 and had one of those rooms with a pole. So stupid. Also was kind of disappointed with the lines everywhere. Also the food was just ok. Probably won’t go on Norwegian again.
We were in one of the rooms with the pole outside the door on the NCL Escape in December and I had my scooter which would not go into the room. We went to the service desk and asked to be moved to any other room on teh ship, didnt care where it was as long as it didn’t have a pole. The cruise was sold out because it ended on Christmas Eve, so it was a Christmas Miracle someone didnt show up and they moved us to a room without a pole !! I have no idea why they built these ships like this!! And there is no way to tell this on a deck plan when you book a room… REALLY ANNOYING!!!
Haven’t been back on NCL in awhile. 2 different cruises that we took were supposed to stop at their island but didn’t due to rough seas. Silly they haven’t built a pier. Will stick with Royal and MSC for Bahamas cruises. Too much of a chance for disappointment with NCL for us.
I would say my complaint with ncl their tender port operations are terrible. Not organized they tell you to wait for the announcement than another employee told me just to go. 🤷♂️
Just got off NCL and let me tell ya…not impressed at all! The food was good in most places, but some specialty restaurants were closed and service everywhere was horrible! Trying to get a drink was BAD! Trying to get a coffee was BAD! So confusing on what was included in the drink pack. Doubt we’ll try another NCL cruise.
i think everything looked great except for tender. I hate tenders because they eat up time you can spend exploring an island.. Prefer to just walk off.
Aww your first cruise Back since birth of baby Noah 😊 catching up with sleep & me time I am sure she having a Great time with grandma & Grandpa 😜. Have a Great week 🥰
We love GSC but unless you get a Villa ( which we did on our last cruise) the line's are long. Even with having a Villa and staying in the Haven, getting off the ship was a hot mess! We anchored at about 7:30. We were supposed to be first off the ship if we wanted. Had to meet in the lounge so they could take us to the tender. We didn't go down until almost 9:45 and the tender was already full. Then had to wait and sign in when on the island. Got our wrist bands. Then waited for a golf cart to take us to the Villa reception area. Then you have to wait for another golf cart to actually take you to the Villa. By the time we actually got to the villa it was 11:45. We were not happy.
I hate that you all had to go through that line that long if I was an bartender I would have it ready seemed to be understaffed and that is not good for business and cruise lines

I think Haven and Cabana life is the way to go moving forward!
Looks like a sort of fun day😀
Sort of fun it was!

YikeS!!!
I would not stand in line for 35 minutes for a drink and would want to know the cost. Glad you enjoyed them.
it was dumb lol

Didn't know that.

It’s so dumbbbb
Amazing how close you are to RCL island. Always have likes this island.
right!
Fun fact: you can easily SWIM from Great Stirrup Cay to Little Stirrup Cay/CocoCay.
That’s if the 🦈 sharks don’t get ya first muuuuhhahha
Hey guys it’s good to see you both cruising again thanks for the video
Thanks for watching!
I have had a few good NCL sailings but never sailed them in the Caribbean. Have only sailed Royal and Celebrity in the Caribbean.
NCL was great from Alaska
How/where do you get the tender boat tickets? Thanks.
What did they do for towels on the upland?

Great video! I really wanted the rum cake! Also love the sunglasses I tried the code but it didn't seem to work.
It should work on checkout page. Not the note section
@GriffandAlyssa thank you! That's where I was. I will try again.
I would say my complaint with ncl their tender port operations are terrible. Not organized they tell you to wait for the announcement than another employee told me just to go. 🤷♂️
Ugh 😑
Thank you for helping us decide against this cruise. Tenders are problematic.
We enjoyed Encore from Seattle
You might want to try carnival😂 the fun ship 🎉
lollolol

NCL specialty restaurants are the best
They are!

Wowwwww that’s bad. Haven guests get prioritized I thought 🤔
The food trucks had the best food! I think you missed those.
Didn’t see any!
They are on the left side of the beach near Izzy bar.
Griff there is background noise in your video for the first 2 mins
it's an ice machine on the ship
I suppose that this is a postbabymoon. Who's on baby duty? I assume one of tge sets of grandparents. Good for you making your relationship a priority!
Parents =)
Y'all's fake smile game is scrong!

I hate that you all had to go through that line that long if I was an bartender I would have it ready seemed to be understaffed and that is not good for business and cruise lines
