Companies today would rather do reboots than introduce the old versions to today's viewers. That's not always the case though. Allegra's Window and Eureeka's Castle were recently added to Paramount+, hinting that they don't have a problem with today's preschoolers watching it. Perhaps Bear in the Big Blue House will be on Disney+ someday.
This show is what ethnic/cultural diversity in children's television looks like when it's done right. Multiple backgrounds appropriately represented and nobody questions or makes a big deal about it.

This show taught problem solving skills I.e when Leon thought of different ways to make everyone happy with the pizza toppings. It showed diversity acceptance tolerance and creativity. Why does the world seem to be moving backwards from such an era that was once so ground breaking in its efforts to establish a more cohesive world
It only appears like we’re going backwards because you were a kid when racial issues were worse. It appears like it was better back then because you didn’t realize how bad it really was at the time.

@@bubsimodragon i grew up on pbs shows, learned a lot more from pbs kids than i did from nick, disney, and cartoon network...a lot of people never sat and truly watched an episode of between the lions, sesame street, and/or cyber chase, and it shows. Forget what you talkin bout, pbs shows were perfect, especially the ones i grew up on. Idk what they show now, but when I watched it, i made sure to be in front of that tv whenever my show came on. ESPECIALLY Arthur at 5pm.

I was three. I remember this show in such detail though. My parents were such racist bigots I am surprised I was allowed to watch it. Maybe it escaped them. They were helicopter parents except when I was in my room. I was allowed to watch pbs, movies they approved, and read books to my leisure. I'm so glad I have the memories of this show. I think it turned me into the person I am today.

I'm 36 now, I haven't seen this since I was young. It taught me about different races. All those voices r flooding back in my head, like it was yesterday. They don't make good stuff like this anymore. Lazytown was similar.
I actually don't blame Skye for being skeptical, if pizza really was easy enough for a kid to make their parents wouldn't have to buy the frozen kind at all. But even a lot of adults find it a bit tricky if not hard to make.
