So the one thing about icejade is that the field spell isnt the thing that negates. The field spell just adds a name from grave or banish zone and does the reduce attack on summon. ok, so im going to do a comment to properly explain whats going on with the deck. curse and kosmochlor arent main phase/battle phase locks, but locks for axtivating effects on the turn a monster is summoned and a turn it wasnt respectively. kosmochlor also reduces atk of monster battling icejades during d calc only, whilst the field spell reduces by the original atk of a water as a trigger effect on summon of a monster. in the last duel, the opponent would have been able to attack over but didnt anticipate the quick equip from cassis giving enough atk to make kos just big enough another important thing, in the first game i'm chain blocked out of using aegirines second effect by the squamata, which is why i had to cradle to add it back. that said, later i threw them a bone by activating aegirine creating a replay of attack declaration, since if i didnt, they wouldve simply lost to curse burning them for 1000, sadly they did not know
In game one they would have won if they just chained zeus in the standby phase to get rid of your field spell. Them letting you summon first sealed their fate.
@@potatoexe5410 to be fair, if they used Zeus I would have been clear to normal aegirine, add cenote, cenote recover kosmochlor, plop. Wouldn't have curse up but I'd still be in the stronger position
If only Farfa would actually read the cards, Kosmochlor says monster effects can only be activated the turn the monster is summoned, the continuous spell says they cannot be activated the turn they are summoned so that's what makes it a skill drain
Cosmochlor(idk if i write it correctly) is skill drain for monster that's not summoned that turn, the continuous spell (curse) is skill drain for monster summoned that turn, you can really catch people off guard with both effect
@@kindlingking interestingly enough hardly anyone seem to realize its not actually a skill drain since continuous effects can still go through, it just stops the opponent from being able to "activate" monster effects making it a lesser skill drain but can sometimes be even more devastating since it even stops accesscode talker as it cannot banish itself to break the lock if the player cant activate his effect in the first place while it still can under skill drain
I can't recommend the combo like I would want to. You need equal parts little bears as you need big bears so. 1 missed places level 3,4, or 5 and your hand is a dud. Tremora is cause you can save on a bear's summon ability but even then without the right parts your hand will brick slowly. Best advise is keeping both separate for now especially with the upcoming ursarctic support
@@silverfang4583 nah not even that. Ursarctics weigh down icejades and vis versa. Ursarctics can kinda hold their own a bit better than icejades. Plus Ursarctics make better use of the icejade boss monsters or really any generic level 10/9 synchro
After coming across a video about Icejades a few months ago I've been gradually finding myself wanting to give them a try more and more and it feels like in general more attention is starting to be paid to the archetype especially with the new support it got recently, so perhaps I'm not alone in this sudden interest increase in Icejades.
As someone who's been playing them since day 1, and plans to bring them to the next ycs, the deck is durable, but also hilariously weak at the same time. If it had its' full power during tear format, it would have been insane against them (i had a lot of good games against them, but unfortunately, tear players at my locals could read, so no easy claps), but during the current format, while it _can_ have a good matchup against purrely, branded, spright, floo, and kash, it kinda has some trouble overall, since the format has so many things you need to be able to factor in and match up to using the side, and it is insanely hard to set up all the proper defenses according to matchups. (Droll, summon limit, barrier statue, evenly, DRNM, ect) Some advice though, in current format, erosion is a bigger savior as opposed to curse, especially t1 due to kaiju being somewhat popular again (activate it during the standby to prevent kaiju problems), though they all still do good work, and gabrion/zaphion (timelords) are good sides against backrow heavy decks. And for the love of god, avoid the mirror match. It is the closest thing to hell that you can get to.
Im also getting some replays ready to submit for my sunvalon/therion deck. One problem for some reason most of my duel last 2-3 rounds cause i lock them out. Do i try to find a replay that has more back and foward or the 3 turn wins ok. Please help me

@@theradams97 Another fellow enjoyer here ^^ Really interesting deck building and tech cards, I learned a lot from your decklist and gameplay. It's also good to see others' perspective on the deck. I myself play the dkayed version but heavily modified. (That was the one where you have 3 Kyoutou waterfront and use Tremora to summon Gameciel turn 1 in defense, then you essentially play a full on strategic game to decide which card you should negate and which you let resolve. I reallllly love that mechanic with that field spell that you have 2,5 negates and it regenerates, so technically infinite* negates) What is combo icejade? is it the 3 deep sea diva + 1 guitar to deep sea prima donna to summon aegirine to summon gymir version? EDIT: Btw The version I play took a huge loss with the limiting of the foolish burial goods bc that was 3 more copies of the Kyoutou Waterfront with rainbow bridge of salvation.
@@FlareBlossom combo build is the deep sea synchro build, yeah. theres also shark icejade which ive messed around with and do like, since it just takes the very bestof the shark engine (3 abyss, 1 crystal, 1 silent angler, 2 silent sea nettle) which enables some neat xyz plays, like nasch knight and kregen. there's also the other build i currently play in master duel which is tearlaments icejade, which works since tear fusions need tear + aqua, which icejade is, and icejade generally likes getting its stuff milled
Last Update Master Duel dropped some new support for Icejades so they're even better with new spell and synchro( only wish Rahn was also added) Also personally I prefer going more synchro with then than XYZ as shown in deck list
@@theradams97 Shark icejade seems like the best build that isnt just making tear worse with the icejades tossed in. At least before Ran Aegirine releases.
@@davidjimenez3822 there's a fun story there actually. I did experiment for a bit with swordsoul icejade (it ran long because swordsoul kinda needs it). It wasn't terrible, since mo ye is water, and erosion control is a not awful strategy that also enables follow up for cheng being outed, but was Hella bricky at times, so I really don't recommend it
i think you're conflating 2 different cards here kingfisher is the one that bounces a monster with less atk then then the def of the monster its equipped to and its not a tuner, aegirocassis is the tuner and it can only either equip from hand/grave or ss itself while equipped but can only use 1 of these 2 effects per turn the utility of kingfisher is nice but its bounce requires being on a monster with rather high def so most of the time the only way you're getting to bounce an impactful monster is if its equipped to kosmo but you aint getting her onto the field without the field spell or tremora but at that point you're looking at a 3 card combo all for a bounce
@Yuki Fubuki No, they're talking about aegerine's effect to special when targeted. That then bounces whatever it summons to your hand (end phase, i think). It isn't a tuner, and isn't as insane as they think, but does have some niche recursion uses.
Farfa out here showing the level 7 which makes the synchro really easy, despite it not existing in master duel... Why give us some and not just the rest of it
Icejades are still not really viable in competitive, yeah you can do stuff here and there but your opening hand needs to be really good for you to have a chance against meta decks, but the archetype are still missing some vital cards in MD, so hopefully Konami brings them sooner than later.
the only one left missing afaik is ran aegirine(which is VERY important dont get me wrong) but we got Gymir and Manifestation in the latest pack in master duel so the deck is at least a little more playable than it was, gymir is awesome against people who dont read
He can't use zues due to the fieldspell and kosmoclor being on the field at the same time, which locks all activated monster effects after the turn they are summoned. He would've had to zues the previous turn or during standby, which seems like an awful play if you don't know the deck.
to put it as nicely as possible, they were unfamiliar with the deck and did not correctly determine what to do before they lost. to put it less nicely, that was incredibly stupid and very severely misplayed lmao
I actually love how Konami has tried to make legitimate banish archetypes for fish and aqua, but they both have so many issues. Icejade is schizophrenic and can't decide if it wants to combo or control and due to this is just not good at either (3 cards to skill drain is hilariously bad, but they also don't lean into either their on-destruction summoning or their self-banishing so they can't combo as hard as they'd have to in order to compete). Then there's ghoti, who would be close if they weren't part of one of the least represented types in the game. If there were as many generic fish extra deck monsters as there were for, say, dragons, there would be people queueing up to spit on their grave.
i believe the whole combo/control confusion they've going on is actually due to lore rather then konami not knowing wut to do with them it was under kosmo's rulership that everything was so defensive and passive exemplified by their debut trio of tremora/tinola/acti and the search spell that none of even require an interaction with the opponent at all barred the trio's grave effect, later support kept to their defensive gameplan but added interactive effects in curse's burn, the field's atk nerf, kosmo's atk nerf and kingfisher's bounce alongside erosion's negate but it took aegirocassis, manifestation and gymir to really break from the kosmo + field spell dependency of which the focus of the latter 3 is on aegirine, not kosmo; AEGIRINE if icejade gets furhter support in the future it'd undoubtedly lean into aegirine's more reactive-defense rather then kosmo's passive-defense and technically konami already set a precedent for future icejade support too if they decide to capitalize on it as gymir and rahn are the names of a married jötunn (frost giant) couple that personify the sea in norse mythology, gymir has a son that personifies snow and together with rahn they have 9 daughters that personify sea waves so i can definitely see aegirine rebuilding/repopulating the icejade with new members named after the gymir and rahn's children from norse myth
Hey gang I might just be stupid but since we got the new Icejade cards in Master Duel, why in the hell didn't we get Aegerine Rahn-? Gymir is great but I feel like Rahn is pretty dang important to the whole setup
You can make Gymir with Deep Sea Diva if you run the new stardust that climbs to a 10 synchro and Guitar Gurnards targeting itself. Its made the package a lot more appealing to me as of late. You can make baronne or chengying in the same fashion
@@CaptinSpyke I'm running with an Icejade/Deep Sea/Mermail build, and for the last few games that I've gone second I've managed to end on Gymir with targeting protection 'cause of the level 7 Deep Sea Synchro and Mermail Abyssalacia for easy access to Kosmochlor so I'm happy out there but I just feel we absolutely need Rahn to get the ball rolling Aegirine by herself is great but Rahn's got that Tuner thing going for her and Aegiocrassis can only use one effect per turn so getting it into the field without Tremora is...difficult to say the least

icejade is definitely on the edge of being a meta contender but just hasnt crossed that line yet; their best opening is either the lock or turbo a lvl 10 synchro out (gymir most often if not baronne/chengying) with little to nothing else backing them up far too frequently, some of their effects like erosion's floating and manifestation in general is too situational to be reliable and they overall rely too much on aegirine breaking her back to carry them since everything else is typically a 2-3 card combo that relies either on kosmo or the field spell which are easily too bricky, inconstant and/or fragile falling to simple spell/trap removal without recovery too much high lvl water monsters in deck can easily lead to bricking more often then not too even then for all that gymir and/or the field spell can do it just isnt enough most of the time as the lack of targeting protection on gymir is easily her achilles' heel for a monster that is suppose to be a pseudo towers of sorts and the field spell is almost useless going first by itself without kosmo and/or curse leaving it as just a card to chain block aegirine from being ashed (but still leaves manifestation/cradle opened to being ashed) they definitely need just a bit more push to get them to cross that line into being a meta contender, possible another low lvl monster to use that can equip an icejade from deck for immediate access to kingfisher/aegirocassis or send an icejade to the grave setting up tinola/acti/tremora for later use or maybe even a new lvl 10 synchro so there is more options for ran aegirine and its token to sync into then just gymir or chengying like to completely make up a card here; Icejade Snaer Aegirocassis WATER level 10 2000/2000 Aqua/Synchro/Effect 1 WATER Tuner + 1+ non-Tuner monsters [The Synchro Summon of this card can be preformed by banishing 2 WATER monster (1 tuner and 1 non-tuner) from your graveyard including an "Icejade" monster whose total levels equal 10. This editor is so good I hope farfa gives them love
ok, so im going to do a comment to properly explain whats going on with the deck. curse and kosmochlor arent main phase/battle phase locks, but locks for axtivating effects on the turn a monster is summoned and a turn it wasnt respectively. kosmochlor also reduces atk of monster battling icejades during d calc only, whilst the field spell reduces by the original atk of a water as a trigger effect on summon of a monster. in the last duel, the opponent would have been able to attack over but didnt anticipate the quick equip from cassis giving enough atk to make kos just big enough
another important thing, in the first game i'm chain blocked out of using aegirines second effect by the squamata, which is why i had to cradle to add it back. that said, later i threw them a bone by activating aegirine creating a replay of attack declaration, since if i didnt, they wouldve simply lost to curse burning them for 1000, sadly they did not know
In game one they would have won if they just chained zeus in the standby phase to get rid of your field spell. Them letting you summon first sealed their fate.
@@potatoexe5410 to be fair, if they used Zeus I would have been clear to normal aegirine, add cenote, cenote recover kosmochlor, plop. Wouldn't have curse up but I'd still be in the stronger position
Interesting deck list, love to see how you change it with Gymir and manifestation now in game to help give it better plays and consistency
If only Farfa would actually read the cards, Kosmochlor says monster effects can only be activated the turn the monster is summoned, the continuous spell says they cannot be activated the turn they are summoned so that's what makes it a skill drain
As an icejade main this decklist/approach pained me
Cosmochlor(idk if i write it correctly) is skill drain for monster that's not summoned that turn, the continuous spell (curse) is skill drain for monster summoned that turn, you can really catch people off guard with both effect
That fact that such simple effect is so convoluted for no reason actually works in it's favour this time
@@kindlingking interestingly enough hardly anyone seem to realize its not actually a skill drain since continuous effects can still go through, it just stops the opponent from being able to "activate" monster effects making it a lesser skill drain but can sometimes be even more devastating since it even stops accesscode talker as it cannot banish itself to break the lock if the player cant activate his effect in the first place while it still can under skill drain
@@YukiFubuki. yep tax dragons and stupid fucking Black wings still fuck em
Nice vid, i actually played this archetype although I splash it into marincess for special summons
Ash Blossom's laugh brings me great joy :)
First, Ursarctic. And now Icejade.
Imagine playing both of them. They're quite good together, actually.~
The only synergy I can think of for them is tremora and that's pretty much it...
Did I miss something?
Bearcti Is decent after dueling nexus especially in ocg.
By good together do you mean that icejades carry the ursartics
@@silverfang4583 nah not even that. Ursarctics weigh down icejades and vis versa. Ursarctics can kinda hold their own a bit better than icejades. Plus Ursarctics make better use of the icejade boss monsters or really any generic level 10/9 synchro
Finally, we can make "just draw the out" memes again. I've missed this.
0:55 wrong aegirine farfa, thats the new one
wrong aegirine in the intro lmao
that ones an actually good card
The regular aegerine is also a very good card, in fact it's the most important card of the deck lol.
The ultimate win condition: Reading comprehension
Even farfa didnt read because the damage step effect is NOT on the field spell, its from Kosh lmao
(Droll, summon limit, barrier statue, evenly, DRNM, ect)
Some advice though, in current format, erosion is a bigger savior as opposed to curse, especially t1 due to kaiju being somewhat popular again (activate it during the standby to prevent kaiju problems), though they all still do good work, and gabrion/zaphion (timelords) are good sides against backrow heavy decks.
Please help me
WTF! I almost choke with my own saliva watching the Herald dancing at the end. Ahahhashas!
My favorite icejade wincon, gameciel, harpies, and the opponent being the worst player ever. Thats why Im undefeated.
man, just as i was about to send in my icejade deck for TBT too, dont think farfa would do repeat decks either...... Well its always nice to see icejade in the spotlight anyways, one of my favourite decks
always good to see a fellow enjoyer, never know, if yours is combo icejade instead of stun icejade it might get through
@@theradams97 Another fellow enjoyer here ^^ Really interesting deck building and tech cards, I learned a lot from your decklist and gameplay.
@@FlareBlossom combo build is the deep sea synchro build, yeah. theres also shark icejade which ive messed around with and do like, since it just takes the very bestof the shark engine (3 abyss, 1 crystal, 1 silent angler, 2 silent sea nettle) which enables some neat xyz plays, like nasch knight and kregen. there's also the other build i currently play in master duel which is tearlaments icejade, which works since tear fusions need tear + aqua, which icejade is, and icejade generally likes getting its stuff milled
i love icejade so i am excited to see how u play this
Last Update Master Duel dropped some new support for Icejades so they're even better with new spell and synchro( only wish Rahn was also added) Also personally I prefer going more synchro with then than XYZ as shown in deck list
deck list isnt an xyz build either, its curse lock. of the hybrid variants my personal favourites are shark icejade and tearlaments icejade
@@theradams97 Shark icejade seems like the best build that isnt just making tear worse with the icejades tossed in. At least before Ran Aegirine releases.
@@theradams97 just go lore accurate and run icejade swordsoul without Longyuan
@@davidjimenez3822 there's a fun story there actually. I did experiment for a bit with swordsoul icejade (it ran long because swordsoul kinda needs it). It wasn't terrible, since mo ye is water, and erosion control is a not awful strategy that also enables follow up for cheng being outed, but was Hella bricky at times, so I really don't recommend it
Plat Players: “Bro I swear, I’d get through plat and into Diamond if I didn’t play against meta decks all the time”
Also Plat Players:
Wow this deck is actually pretty good
My 2 favorite decks icejades and ancient warriors lol
Yo Farfa that beard looking BIG CHUNGUS
Holy shit that last battle, i got nothing on this dudes brain on jades.
Im a little skeptical tho considering the opponent has to "not read" a lot
I wanted to try icejade before so this might be the push i need to try it out.
Deck goes BONKERS
Ice jade is lethal if the opponent doesn't read the field spell, well... Tier Zero then, right?
Also if you draw the kaiju and have the right backrow removal to be able to play and resolve it
It's my pet deck !! Finally some attention !
the sheer utility of that bouncer tuner alone is insane! Special from GY then TO HAND!?!?
i think you're conflating 2 different cards here
kingfisher is the one that bounces a monster with less atk then then the def of the monster its equipped to and its not a tuner, aegirocassis is the tuner and it can only either equip from hand/grave or ss itself while equipped but can only use 1 of these 2 effects per turn
the utility of kingfisher is nice but its bounce requires being on a monster with rather high def so most of the time the only way you're getting to bounce an impactful monster is if its equipped to kosmo but you aint getting her onto the field without the field spell or tremora but at that point you're looking at a 3 card combo all for a bounce
@Yuki Fubuki No, they're talking about aegerine's effect to special when targeted. That then bounces whatever it summons to your hand (end phase, i think). It isn't a tuner, and isn't as insane as they think, but does have some niche recursion uses.
He didn't play bad but just love my man open turtle all three games :)
This deck just need the new longyung and it might become playable as a strategy
How does one submit for bottom table
Farfa out here showing the level 7 which makes the synchro really easy, despite it not existing in master duel... Why give us some and not just the rest of it
Sam put this deck (he realized it was miscategorized) in his F tier wheel and I don’t get how people don’t see that these cards can get oppressive.
This deck takes advantage of yugioh players' fatal flaw, an inability to read.
Icejades are still not really viable in competitive, yeah you can do stuff here and there but your opening hand needs to be really good for you to have a chance against meta decks, but the archetype are still missing some vital cards in MD, so hopefully Konami brings them sooner than later.
the only one left missing afaik is ran aegirine(which is VERY important dont get me wrong) but we got Gymir and Manifestation in the latest pack in master duel so the deck is at least a little more playable than it was, gymir is awesome against people who dont read
name the song at the end video pls
Eh, I prefer going for more fun build and utilize tremora more by main decking gameciel and coelacanth
would have love to see a decklist with the new stuff
I miss the spooky opening too the bottom table
UA-cam welcome back!!!!!!
3:57 why didn't he zeused? rulk and kaleido would be back any way, maybe i lost some plays? maybe he negated zeus?
He can't use zues due to the fieldspell and kosmoclor being on the field at the same time, which locks all activated monster effects after the turn they are summoned. He would've had to zues the previous turn or during standby, which seems like an awful play if you don't know the deck.
to put it as nicely as possible, they were unfamiliar with the deck and did not correctly determine what to do before they lost.
to put it less nicely, that was incredibly stupid and very severely misplayed lmao
@@spidudetoo1212 oh ok thanks
YES ICEJADES
I waited until the end of the video but didn't know how to apply D:
Icejades truly wins if your opponent never reads..... Neat.....
This video nerfed Icejades, now people will start reading the cards.
If there were as many generic fish extra deck monsters as there were for, say, dragons, there would be people queueing up to spit on their grave.
i believe the whole combo/control confusion they've going on is actually due to lore rather then konami not knowing wut to do with them
it was under kosmo's rulership that everything was so defensive and passive exemplified by their debut trio of tremora/tinola/acti and the search spell that none of even require an interaction with the opponent at all barred the trio's grave effect, later support kept to their defensive gameplan but added interactive effects in curse's burn, the field's atk nerf, kosmo's atk nerf and kingfisher's bounce alongside erosion's negate but it took aegirocassis, manifestation and gymir to really break from the kosmo + field spell dependency of which the focus of the latter 3 is on aegirine, not kosmo; AEGIRINE
if icejade gets furhter support in the future it'd undoubtedly lean into aegirine's more reactive-defense rather then kosmo's passive-defense and technically konami already set a precedent for future icejade support too if they decide to capitalize on it as gymir and rahn are the names of a married jötunn (frost giant) couple that personify the sea in norse mythology, gymir has a son that personifies snow and together with rahn they have 9 daughters that personify sea waves so i can definitely see aegirine rebuilding/repopulating the icejade with new members named after the gymir and rahn's children from norse myth

8:50 that’s me in the chat asking a dumb question because I just joined the stream. Clueless kekw
Hey gang I might just be stupid but since we got the new Icejade cards in Master Duel, why in the hell didn't we get Aegerine Rahn-? Gymir is great but I feel like Rahn is pretty dang important to the whole setup
Yeah rahn really pulls the deck together and gives them a solid turn 1 end board.
You can make Gymir with Deep Sea Diva if you run the new stardust that climbs to a 10 synchro and Guitar Gurnards targeting itself. Its made the package a lot more appealing to me as of late. You can make baronne or chengying in the same fashion
@@CaptinSpyke I'm running with an Icejade/Deep Sea/Mermail build, and for the last few games that I've gone second I've managed to end on Gymir with targeting protection 'cause of the level 7 Deep Sea Synchro and Mermail Abyssalacia for easy access to Kosmochlor so I'm happy out there but I just feel we absolutely need Rahn to get the ball rolling
Aegirine by herself is great but Rahn's got that Tuner thing going for her and Aegiocrassis can only use one effect per turn so getting it into the field without Tremora is...difficult to say the least
i think its because it was just released in tcg, gotta let them sell the actual physical cards first before giving a chance for players to freely obtain it digitally

Mostly for curiosities sake can icejade pull of defense otk?
like otking someone with defense position monsters? you can get close probably, with kosmochlor, a lot of banished monsters and kingfisher/aegirocassis you can get a monster with 3k attack to 0 , deal like 5k battle damage and then burn them for the rest.
otking someone with them attacking you? they would have to basically do it on purpose so no.

Yeah being completely honest here, icejade is literally one of the most underestimated decks in Yugioh, many just don’t rly know how to use it. Since it has multiple option how to respond to certain situations, can’t wait for Icejade aegirine ran to make it into master duell. Then my rain of terror shall continue even further muhahaha…….jk
icejade is definitely on the edge of being a meta contender but just hasnt crossed that line yet; their best opening is either the lock or turbo a lvl 10 synchro out (gymir most often if not baronne/chengying) with little to nothing else backing them up far too frequently, some of their effects like erosion's floating and manifestation in general is too situational to be reliable and they overall rely too much on aegirine breaking her back to carry them since everything else is typically a 2-3 card combo that relies either on kosmo or the field spell which are easily too bricky, inconstant and/or fragile falling to simple spell/trap removal without recovery
too much high lvl water monsters in deck can easily lead to bricking more often then not too
even then for all that gymir and/or the field spell can do it just isnt enough most of the time as the lack of targeting protection on gymir is easily her achilles' heel for a monster that is suppose to be a pseudo towers of sorts and the field spell is almost useless going first by itself without kosmo and/or curse leaving it as just a card to chain block aegirine from being ashed (but still leaves manifestation/cradle opened to being ashed)
they definitely need just a bit more push to get them to cross that line into being a meta contender, possible another low lvl monster to use that can equip an icejade from deck for immediate access to kingfisher/aegirocassis or send an icejade to the grave setting up tinola/acti/tremora for later use or maybe even a new lvl 10 synchro so there is more options for ran aegirine and its token to sync into then just gymir or chengying
like to completely make up a card here;
Icejade Snaer Aegirocassis
WATER
level 10
2000/2000
Aqua/Synchro/Effect
1 WATER Tuner + 1+ non-Tuner monsters
[The Synchro Summon of this card can be preformed by banishing 2 WATER monster (1 tuner and 1 non-tuner) from your graveyard including an "Icejade" monster whose total levels equal 10. While this card is equipped to a monster, the equipped monster cannot be targeted by opponent's card or effect and all opponent's monster lose 200 ATK/DEF for each card that is banish. (Quick Effect): You can tribute this card face-up on the field in a monster zone; add to your hand or special summon 1 WATER monster that is banished or in your GY. (Quick Effect): You can target 1 WATER monster you control or if this card is banish you can target 1 "Icejde" monster you control; equip this card in your GY or that is banish to that monster you control. When "Icejade Gymir Aegirine" activate its effects in response to your opponent's card or effect activation while this card is equipped to a monster on the field; you can banish this equipped card from your field: negate the activated effects and effects of cards with the same name as the card "Icejade Gymir Aegirine" activated its effect in response to until the end of your next turn then then you can banish card(s) from your opponent's Deck or Extra Deck card(s) with the same name if possible and then banish it if it was an effect activated in the hand. You can only use each effect of "Icejade Snaer Aegirocassis" once per turn.]
Im agreeing in many things u mentioned, and especially the brick part makes icejade literally to inconsistent. Fixing the brick is tough tho, I just rly hope they keep supporting the deck, and hopefully they going to add more synchro/tuners. An icejade monster that could negate an opponents monster by banishing itself from graveyard wouldn’t be bad aswell. Or simply add another level4 or lower monster that can search cards/ or can tribute itself to summon any icejade from the deck. Just everything that makes u go into engine faster while not dying to one ash blossom basically x)
But yeah im loving icejade ,even if it may never be a meta.
@@shiro12okami69 if icejade gets furhter support in the future it'd undoubtedly lean into aegirine's more reactive-defense rather then kosmo's passive-defense as kosmo is dead and all and the newer icejade cards is very much less focus on being some glacial wall and more about aegirine bring an avenger as evident by the effect of gymir and 2nd effect of manifestation is basically about retaliation and even the new eternal ice grave card too which while not an actual icejade card is still related thematically effect-wise and art-wise as it depicts aegirine gymir in seclusion within the now ruined cenote enrion cradle
the fact that rahn copied the field name when equipped with soemthing really pushes the deviation from kosmo-era style of play but at the same time you dont really have anything to actually enable the name coping effect outside simply not using her for synchro play but just equipping her with aegirocassis or kingfisher yet thats not particularly useful itself especially going first so here to hoping they have a new card that can actually set it up without needing a specific hand or draining too much resources
technically konami already set a foundation for future icejade support too if they decide to capitalize on it as gymir and rahn are the names of a married jötunn (frost giant) couple that personify the sea in norse mythology, gymir has a son that personifies snow (named snaer which is where i got the name from in my custom-card above) and together with rahn they have 9 daughters that personify sea waves so i can definitely see aegirine rebuilding/repopulating the icejade with new members named after the gymir and rahn's children from norse myth
