Purandharadasar- The father of Carnatic music had a original name Srinivasan Naicker. He was a friend of the the emperor Krishna Devarayar and a diamond merchant.
All changed after a dream in which the Lord Srinivasa appeared.
He quit every thing, donated all his possessions and became a composer.
Story is correct. But his original name was not Srinivasan Naicker. It was Shreenivaasa Naayaka.
He is the reincarnation of Sage Narada so that thirsty souls can sing to the lord in kaliyuga with total surrender.
