I don't know all the technicalities of classical music just like I am not a great cook. but I know when a dish is great when I taste it. there are singers who sing to please others and singers who sing to please others AND themselves simultaneously. so sweet when you see, hear an artist perform so unselfconsciously enjoying themselves. no wonder it comes out so great!

About 2 decades back Raagam was called as Yamankalyani. In Hindustani music it is still by this name.

Outstanding performance! I was very impressed by the staging (simple dark background) and the way her voice harmonized with the violin. The Mridangam was supportive but not in competition with the singing. She did not overdo it with her hand gestures, as many singers do. Seems a very skillful and understated yet forceful performance.
