I don't care who Gavin works for or doesn't work for. He's a good man as his work for the cancer charity demonstrates.

Good to see Gavin is not disappearing altogether. Hopefully he'll still appear on our screens as well as his website as the man's character is as interesting as his racing tips. Cheers.

Great interview. Really fascinating to hear Gavin's views on such a variety of topics. Will miss him on Upping The Ante though .

@Cheltmental Ismental you just never give up do you? You must be a sad, lonely man spending all your time trolling through the UA-cam comments section. Can you just do one, and do us all a favour?

That analogy of backing a runner for two races at Cheltenham can be looked at a little differently though Gavin. If you back 2 x €10 win bets at 7/1 is your example and he wins one of the races, then you could look at it as a 6/1 winner (7/1 winner minus the 10er you burnt on the race he didn't run). That's my logic anyway lol I don't do it often but I did for State Man at 16/1 in two races last year and one was the County Hurdle so happy days considering he went off around 3/1 on the day.

My best winner, Commander of Fleet at 50/1 last year at Cheltenham, I'd been keeping tabs on the horse since the summer and when I saw it in the betting I lumped on. Made what was a very wet and miserable Wednesday into a winner 🤣

All the best with the new venture Gav, will miss you a lot on Upping the Ante. Money is too tight to mention though in this economic crisis so paying a man for his opinion on horses is a no no for me. Wish you well though, top lad 👍

@@alexmansfield8676 Ah it was great banter to be fair and got great takes on races and horses to track. Whatever about the Chelt tips. Surely that's your own opinion though as it's your money. Can't be backing blind.

@@alexmansfield8676 you must be a recent viewer. Gavin 4 the previous 4 cheltenham festivals had a lot of big priced winners. Last year was an anomaly. But obviously uou lost your pocket money.

@@patmawn9636 that’s correct tbf. The part about Gavin anyway, I actually had my best Cheltenham ever, and the first time I actually went after all these years (more of a flat fan) Don’t sleep on the new guy either btw. He will be gold, not either of the tips last night though, I don’t follow anyone, I only listen for confirmation of my original thoughts, and to build the buzz fir the festival. The Barstewards Enquiry by the way is the best Horse racing podcasts around by a mile, it’s criminal the amount of subscribers they have.
