u need to read aristotle and dante discover the secrets of the universe if you haven’t already!! it’s set in the 80’s and two mexican-american teens fall in love and it has such a great storyline about self-discovery and it’s just so beautiful i HIGHLY recommend it ive read it 5 times already
"Read Carry On" you said "It'll be fun" you said. And now after two days of nonstop reading, my heart is broke and my tearducts arent working anymore...
since I haven't seen anyone say it, a lot of Rick Riordan's books have LGBT representation. Y'know, Percy Jackson guy. Even if it didn't, I'd still totally recommend the books. Even toned down for kids, mythology is still wild.
Lugs Especially Magnus Chase and the gods of Asgard! It has in the main cast: a Muslim girl, a genderfluid person, a pansexual guy, three/four homeless characters and a deaf guy. And you don't actually need to read the previous 10 books since the characters from those appear only for like 4 chapters in three books
In the Trials of Apollo (may they be cherished yet despised for some occurrences), Apollo also brings up Hyacinthus a lot. Hyacinthus was his previous male lover who died in a discus “accident;” really he was killed by Zephyr the spirit of the west winds because he was jealous and is a reason as to why Apollo and Zephyr have such a strong rivalry. Hyacinths, a sweet smelling yellow flower, were made in this myth. Apollo also had a relationship previously with another male character who turns up in book two. In general, especially Greek but to an extent also Roman mythology was very, very gay at times. It generally lacks lesbians, or at least very explicit ones. The stories of Greek myth are also often about hubris or pride. They don’t always end well. Needless to say there are a lot of gay lovers who die for sometimes the most petty of all reasons.
They actually they do die and that's not even a spoiler. Rick Riordan is amazing when it comes to creating characters. Especially in Magnus Chase, there are so many diverse characters and I love every single one.
Another tv show I suggest for everyone is shameless (the us version). Even though Ian isn’t the centre character, he still plays a big part. From episode one he’s pretty graphically gay and throughout the series shows healthy and non healthy relationships he goes through. He also struggles with bipolar disorder which is portrayed really well. In the most recent season he gets a boyfriend called Trevor who’s a trans boy and educate the audience on trans people and more into the lgbtq+ community
there was russian adaptation of shameless and when it was recently announced i thought “wow, it will be great to watch russian version of ian, because russia is so homophobic and being gay in russia is hard, especially in small towns”. BUT THERE IS NO GAY CHARACTER IN RUSSIAN SHAMELESS. now he just likes elder women. well, very relatable i guess 🤷🏻♀️
You should definitely read "Simon vs the Homo Sapiens agenda" by Becky Albertalli, it's a quick read. It centers around the main character Simon Spier, who's a closeted gay, and in the book he starts messaging this guy but he doesn't know who it is. The book deals with being forced to come out and the over all story is just really cute
I read that a while ago after already watching the movie cause I didn't know there was a book and I was very pleasantly surprised by the way it was written compared to the movie. Don't get me wrong the movie was food but the book was just *chef's kiss*, basically a whole different story.

one foreign film i really liked but i never hear about is a film called North Sea Texas. please check it out, it’s very cinematic and aesthetics’s well.
One movie that was on hulu (I don’t know if it’s still there) was The Departure and it was like CMBYN before CMBYN and it’s also the gay teens in a foreign country in an earlier time period aesthetic. Please look for it and watch it if you can.
People don't talk about this movie as much as they need to: Maurice (1987). It's great. I mean it's based on an EM Forster book, so there isn't really much plot, but the beautiful score and filming locations really makes it a wonderful movie. The commentary on Edwardian English society and homosexuality is honestly really interesting and I've spent way to much time researching that kinda stuff. It's a great movie with a baby Hugh Grant. If you liked Cmbyn then you'd love it, I swear.
Omg Maurice is such a great film! I hope it receives mores appreciation because it definitely deserves it. It's so nice to see a gay movie with a happy ending!
Why is no one talking about Maurice? It's old and it didn't get nearly enough recognition, but it is incredible. So much better than many other movies, including some overrated ones *cough* brokeback mountain *cough*. All these recommendations are great, but I'm literally shoving Maurice down all of your throats, because it deserves it. Besides, who doesn't want to see young Hugh Grant, that dude who plays Greg Lestrade on Sherlock (looking really sweet and handsome, btw), and - most importantly - a fucking optimistic, great, positive happy ending, for once? Also, it's based on a book (which is fantastic as well) that's written by an early activist for gay rights. who based two of his characters on a gay couple he was close friends with. So, it's much closer to our community and doesn't smell of straightness, like some other lgbt+ movies do. Fucking watch it. Please.
Yes!! Also, if you think the young version of the guy who plays Greg Lestrade in Sherlock is cute, he was also in a trans movie as the love interest/long-lost best friend (the transwoman herself is played by a cis actor, which I side-eye, but it was a sweet movie with a HAPPY ENDING anyway) - it's called Different For Girls.
You never mentioned this, but Call Me By Your Name is based on the novel by Andre Aciman. I have heard wonderful things abput the novel, but it is sold out at all my nearest bookstores. However, I have seen the film in theatres and it is one of the most beautiful films I've ever seen. Stunning cinematography and acting. Not to mention, it is one of the most critically acclaimed films of the year.
Yesss its one of the only films that represents well the book. The narrative of the novel its so dense and complex yet so easy to read that you are in a constant state of "wow" (excuse my awful english btw)
ARISTOTLE AND DANTE DISCOVER THE SECRETS OF THE UNIVERSE NEEDS TO BE ON YOUR RADAR!!!!!!! Also, season 3 of SKAM (it's an anthology series so you can get away with just watching season 3).
Well I'm not proud of it but, Magnus and Alec in shadowhunters clearly are my guilty pleasure of the moment. Also "the way he looks" is my feel good movie. This one is so cute I could die and it kinda change me of my usual Brokeback Mountain drama (that I also adore... I'm hopeless)
12/10 would recommend watching The Handmaiden if you enjoy stories about lesbians getting revenge on abusive men (as a warning there are some explicit scenes)
Yes! My friend recommended the movie to me and it was amazing; the plot twists, the passion the actors showed and the setting are just absolutely amazing
I really like Seven Days. Its a Japanese two part movie adapted from a manga I thought it was beautiful, but then the chronic inability to clarify the situation for fear of ruining everything is my aesthetic. Can I all so say I'm a fan I really enjoy your video essays, your perspective and humour, but often your videos have all so left me rather touched too. Some I often re-watch. Thanks for your hard work!
you should read Aristotle and Dante discover the secrets of the universe is lgbt one of my favorites ( that doesn't matter but is my favorite ) and when someone ask me what book ( lgbt o not ) I recommend, I always say Aristotle and Dante
CALL ME BY YOUR NAME IS ORIGINALLY A BOOK AND IT'S WRITTEN SO BEAUTIFULLY AND POETICALLY I HIGHLY SUGGEST YOU READ IT IT'S IN A LOT OF BOOKSTORES (i bought myself a copy for christmas best impulse buy e v e r)) also en kort en lang (shake it all about) is really good! it's in danish but you can probably find a version with english subtitles somewhere and it has mads mikkelsen in it!! as the bisexual main character!!
Another show I recommend is Brooklyn Nine Nine, one of the main characters is a gay man and he's not a stereotypical at all. And another one but it doesn't happen until the fifth season but there's a couple of episodes where a main character comes out as bisexual. They handle it really well. Overall this show is amazing everyone should go watch it.
Its pretty great but not perfect. Its been criticized for the fact that its a cop show when police brutality (against black people) is such an issue. Making it intersectional doesnt fix it and they only lightly acknowledge the problem in one episode. Its also got some pretty obvious and bothersome fatshaming
If you like Carry On you should read I’ll give you the sun. It’s the story of 2 twins Jude and Noah who grow apart over the years due to secrets, mistakes, and revenge against one another. Noah falls in love with the boy next door. Brian ( The boy next door) is into space and Noah is into art. The points of views change over the years with Noah telling the early years and Jude the later ones. Jude is sworn off from boys until she meets Oscar. It is a really moving story and the ending is very satisfying to me. It demonstrates the power of love and family, and how one decision can ruin someone’s life. Noah deals with the fact that he is gay, while Jude learns that not everything and everyone is how they seem. I loved it so please give it a try if you haven’t.
Just gotta say that Skam has an absolutely amazing gay story arc It's in season three, but each season is focused on a different character and has a different story so you don't need to watch the other ones to watch three (though they are also very good and worth watching).
Falsettos and Fun Home are soooo good!! I would recommend BBC's In The Flesh and the books Aristole and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe and the Heart Rate of A Mouse series by Anna Green
I am so SO happy to see someone else talk about Boys Don’t Cry!! I started exploring my gender identity back in 2011-12 when I was a teen, and I had a really hard time accepting I was trans. My escape for a lot of the time, was the very few real life people and characters I could relate to; specifically the UA-camr Alex Bertie (TheRealAlexBertie), and, you guessed it, Boys Don’t Cry. The movie is a piece of art! But it’s also upsetting that the few queer media I grew up with, like BDC and Brokeback, all ended with a main character being killed for being LGBTQ+.. Definitely fueled my internalized trans and homophobia. I even did a representation on BDC in my junior year in college. No one was surprised when I finally came out last year lol.
Have a few more recommendations on me: Books: -Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe - The inexplicable Logic of my Life (nice undertone here, not the main focus but a great read anyhow) -Simon vs the Homo Sapiens agenda -We are the ants -Love in the Time of Global Warming (it’s been a while since I read this. I can’t remember how prevalent the gay™ is) -More Than This (undertone, not the main focus, but I still loved it as a book) -The Upside of Unrequited (not the main character, secondary to a hetero romance if I remember correctly, kind of a plot device, but still positive representation) -Oranges Are Not the Only Fruit -We Are Okay -If I was Your Girl -George -The Art of Being Normal And there’s more, but I’m on a bus and can’t remember Other media: -Shadowhunters (much healthier in the tv show than the books (i’ve only seen the show, this is from what I’ve heard). Not the *main* focus but still clear and nice to watch. For the main scenes see s1 ep12 and s2 ep18 ) -Sense8 -Torchwood (not only is there the one episode with captain jack, but there is also other representation throughout the show with both female and male characters, and I really love it (even though there’s a bit of the whole kill the gays.) Take it from me when I say they’re all bisexual, even if the show doesn’t) -Doctor Who (representation is best in the most recent season with Bill as the doctor’s companion, and there has been other representation, but I don’t know the episodes by heart so google it! I love doctor who so I’m probably biased about this one when I say watch it) -GBF -The Brooklyn 99 (underlying theme throughout, a poc gay character, and most recently a latina bi character) -The Imitation Game -Fourth Man Out (not too much plot, just a chill sort of film) -How To Get Away With Murder (don’t watch if you’re not too into murder) -In A Heartbeat (short but full of feels) -But I’m A Cheerleader I have forgotten everything I’ve ever watched oops. Oh well, enjoy!
Also if Lies We Tell Ourselves is amazing!! It’s very interesting, it’s about interrogation in the 1950s and a lesbian relationship between a POC and someone who comes from a very anti-interrogation background and family!! 10/10 would recommend
You may like big eden too. It's a gay film about a man moving back from the city to help his grandfather and ends up rekindling some small town romances. It takes place in montana so the scenery is gorgeous and the whole small town ends up shipping the main character with this shy guy and help the two get together. Honestly, just a good wholesome gay movie.
You should check out Skam. It's from Norway and the first season is very girl drama-y but season three is sooooooo good. It focuses on this guy discovering his sexual identity and yeah. It's really good. What I did was I watched the first eight episodes of season one then I wikipediaded the rest and started season three.
BOOKS: Timekeeper by Tara Sim is set in an alternate Victorian world where time is controlled by magic clocktowers. The main character, Danny, is an openly gay clock mechanic, who are people with the ability to see and repair the strands of time, who falls in love with a clock spirit, which is illegal. Also there's terrorists bombing the clocktowers in an attempt to "free" time. There's so much more to it than that, but that's the bare bones. Half Bad by Sally Green is about a boy called Nathan who is the only half-white witch/half-black witch in existence and the escalating persecution he faces because of it. My personal way of describing it is it's like a mixed-race child growing up in a world ruled by the KKK. It's brutal. One of the male main characters is in love with Nathan, and Nathan is questioning his sexuality for the first two books. Wonders of the Invisible World by Christopher Barzak is about this boy called Aidan Lockwood whose life is irrevocably changed when his childhood best friend returns to their hometown talking about things that Aidan should remember, but doesn't. The two of them team up to try and get Aidan's memories back and along the way they discover the secret history of the Lockwood family. The Cat in the Cradle by Jay Bell is about a boy called Dylan, who is the son of the Blue Oligarch, one of the magical rulers of their world who protect the Lokas, crystals of immense elemental power. Someone starts assassinating the oligarchs and stealing their Lokas, so the Blue Oligarch gives Dylan his Loka, and sends him to stay with Tyjinn, the Red Oligarch, for protection. Things don't exactly go as planned. The sequel, From Darkness to Darkness, follows a boy named Cole as he attempts to deal with the death of his boyfriend, while also carrying on Dylan and Tyjinn's story. The Rules and Regulations for Mediating Myths & Magic by F. T. Lukens is about a boy called Bridger Whitt who, in an attempt to get a job to pay for college, unwittingly becomes the apprentice of a mage who mediates between the magical and non-magical worlds. Soon Bridger has to deal with various magical creatures, as well as his crush on Leo, the super popular football player from his school, and his neighbour. The Shattered Gates by Ginn Hale is about a man called John who steals a key intended for his roommate Kyle out of frustration at Kyle's continuous disappearances. This turns out to be a mistake as Kyle is actually an otherworldly warrior called Kahlil, who is in our world hunting the Rifter, a malevolent god destined to destroy both worlds. Proxy by Alex London is about a boy called Syd Carton, who is a proxy, which basically means he gets punished for someone else's crimes. Then the boy he proxies for kills someone, and Syd has to escape before he's imprisoned for a crime he didn't commit. Syd is gay, and another character is probably bisexual. The Darkest Part of the Forest by Holly Black is about Hazel and Ben, siblings who live in this town which is known for its high concentration of faeries. The town's main attraction is a horned boy sleeping in a glass casket, who Hazel and Ben have both been in love with their entire lives. One day the casket is found smashed open, the horned boy disappears, and all hell breaks loose. Release by Patrick Ness is about a closeted gay boy called Adam going through a particularly bad day. Meanwhile the ghost of a murdered girl rises from the lake she drowned in. The Raven Cycle by Maggie Stiefvater is about four private school boys searching for a dead Welsh king with the help of a girl called Blue, who is the daughter of a psychic. One of the boys is gay and one is probably bisexual. Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo is about six morally bankrupt individuals performing a heist on an impenetrable fortress. Two of the male main characters are attracted to each other and eventually end up in a relationship. Shades of Magic by V. E. Schwab is about a man called Kell who has the ability to travel between four parallel versions of London. Officially, he's a messenger between the worlds, but he also acts as a smuggler who deals magical artefacts. One day he smuggles something into his version of London that shouldn't exist. Chaos ensues. Kell's brother Rhy (who is also a main character in the last two books of the series) is openly bisexual and has a male love interest. Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard by Rick Riordan is about a boy called Magnus Chase who learns he is the son of a Norse god. There's also a genderfluid character who Magnus is basically instantly attracted to, and a heavily implied relationship between two men. We are the Ants is about a boy called Henry who is abducted by aliens and given the option to save the world from certain destruction. Only problem is he's not sure the world deserves saving. He has one-hundred and forty-four days to make his decision. I haven't finished this book yet, but I love it already. Henry is gay (I think) and has had at least two sexual relationships with boys. I'll Give You the Sun by Jandy Nelson is about these twins called Noah and Jude who used to be really close but aren't anymore, and the whole story of the book is about unravelling the tangled web of events that threw them apart, and also about fixing their relationship. Noah is gay and a lot of his story is about his relationship with another guy. Falling Kingdoms by Morgan Rhodes has a gay prince who is in love with a guardsman who is the best friend of the main character but their relationship is very tropey and constantly gets cockblocked. I haven't read the last book yet. The Great Library by Rachel Caine has a side-relationship between two men but they're easily the best characters, at least in the first book. The Bartimaeus trilogy by Jonathan Stroud is about this djinni called Bartimaeus who gets enslaved to this brat called Nathaniel. It's not really a main focus of the book (which is classism, slavery and all that jazz) but in the past Bartimaeus had an extremely close relationship with a boy, which the author later confirmed would have been considered romantic by djinni standards. The House of Mountfathom by Nigel McDowell is about the Irish revolution except with magic. It follows this boy called Luke Mountfathom, who is the son of the most powerful and respected wizards in Ireland as he grows up. Luke develops an incredibly close relationship with a boy called Killian which includes sleeping in the same bed so I'm pretty sure you're meant to read them as a couple. And even if you're not, they're canon to me. But the author died soon after writing it, so we'll never know his intentions. Also literally all of the Shadowhunter Chronicles by Cassandra Clare. Especially The Dark Artifices, which includes a relationship between a bisexual boy, a faerie prince, and a Mexican girl who I'm pretty sure are going to end up polyamorous, a black transgender woman, and a steadily developing relationship between an autistic boy and a rebel kid which is literally the most adorable thing I've ever read, and they're going to be the protagonists of the final series. Other LGBT representation in the series includes a closeted gay man, his bisexual warlock boyfriend, an asexual vampire (not confirmed in-canon but will be soon), a bisexual half-faerie girl and her lesbian girlfriend, and a genderfluid Victorian person (their series isn't out yet, and probably includes other LGBT characters). WEBCOMICS: Homestuck by Andrew Hussie includes a race of predominantly bisexual aliens (one of whom is not bisexual, but a lesbian), a lesbian girl, a bisexual boy, a gay boy, and his boyfriend with an unconfirmed sexuality and a non-binary character. In simplest terms it's about four friends who play a video game that brings on the apocalypse, and they have to escape into the world of the video game to survive. Check, Please! is about a closeted gay hockey player from Georgia moving to Canada for university and developing a relationship with the captain of his hockey team. Sharp Zero is about a guy called Elliot Hong who lives in a world of superheroes. Elliot is not a superhero but obviously that doesn't last. Elliot is demisexual, but attracted to guys in some capacity and his main love interest is a gay dude called Danny. There's also plenty of other LGBT characters, including a transgender man, an agender person, and a genderfluid person. Countdown to Countdown is some sort of post-apocalyptic thing. The main character is a polyamorous gay boy called Iris Black who has the ability to reach into paintings and take things from them. There's also a guy called Lillium White who is bi and I'm pretty sure he's Iris' principle love interest. The comic hasn't come very far yet and a lot of the story is very confusing, but the art is beautiful and the story is good so I still recommend it. Namesake is about people who share the names of fictional characters being sucked into those stories and they have to make sure the stories go right. Then Emma Crewe gets sucked into Oz to take the role of Dorothy. Something is not right here. Several of the characters are LGBT and one of the most prominent relationships in the comic is between two girls. Hazy London is about two guys, Toby and Mark, in an indie band who start to question their sexuality and become boyfriends after hooking up. Shenanigans ensue. Always Raining Here is about a boy called Carter who is horny, and Adrian who is done with his shit. There's shenanigans, but ultimately it ends up being a really heartfelt and poignant story. TV SHOWS: Class: the Doctor Who spin-off no one asked for. The main couple is gay and that's basically why I watched it. I really liked it though, even if it was a bit trashy.
Nico di Angelo from the Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Heroes of Olympus, and Trials of Apollo series' has one of my favourite arcs about accepting yourself even if you've been told it was wrong. Even though it doesn't come until late in Heroes of Olympus, it's still really sweet. (Also, his boyfriend in Trials of Apollo is the absolute best and they're such a sweet couple and they're written as "gay, but that's absolutely okay" and I applaud) Apollo, the protagonist for Trials of Apollo (go figure) is the most Pansexual Disaster you've ever seen and he's had like, 44 significant others in his godly lifetime. We stan a pan legend. All in all, the three series' are all really amazing and you should read them all!
i'm from germany my favorite book of all time is, surprisingly, one by a german author called andreas steinhöfel. it's called the center of the world and it's the most beautifully written novel i have ever read. it's about phil who is gay and falls in love with the new student nicholas and i don't even want to tell you anything about that book because it's just so beautiful. it's so aesthetic and so far away from homosexual stereotypes, it's not your 08/15 coming of age gay novel, it's about so much more. the story could have even been the same if nicholas was a girl, but he's a boy and that adds so much more beautiful and definitely not annoying or over the top drama. it's honestly just the best book i've ever read and it made me cry so so so much. please, alexander, please read it. i swear you will fall in love with it. and the best movie i have ever seen has a gay couple in it as well (wow, shocking) and it's called kill your darlings. now, i really hope you know that one already, because if not, i'm crying. 10/10 need to watch. it's with daniel radcliffe and dane dehaan, based on a true story about two writers of the beats generation in america in the 1940s, incredibly well shot, incredibly touching story, incredibly interesting characters. really, it's just the best movie i know.
i know, i've seen the movie, but it's so shit against the book. if you don't read the book, you don't get the story. the book lives so frickin much on the way it's written. honestly, you can't turn this book into a movie that does it justice. they tried, but no one could have done it. plus, the actor for nicholas is kinda horrible for his role, doesn't seem at all like the nicholas in the book.
random thoughts i haven’t read it in english yet and while i believe it’ll work better in german (simply bc you can play with words and sentencd structure more in german) you should definitely read it in any language that you can. This book is too amazing to not be read.
Valentia okay, because I’m french and I took spanish as a 2nd language instead of german (I regret lol) therefore, there is no way I can read it in german ahah... But I will give it a try in english then, thanks for the info :)
You should watch "The Handmaiden". It is a South Korean movie and it is AMAZING. You would love it, plus there are lesbians, and there's not a sad ending. Which for Korea, is a HUGE step.
Did you watch Method? There are coming out more bl type movies in sk recently, and i'm just wondering if it's because people are being more tolerant, or if it's because fangirls demand it...
I did watch Method. It was ok. And I honestly don't know. I don't like to watch a lot of BL that comes out of Asia because for the most part you can tell it's written by a straight woman and it's all very fetishizing. However, I have seen a movie that came out of SK called "Man on High Heels", which is about a transgender woman. (It's not an ideal ending but not a completely horrible one either), also "The Lover", that is a SK drama, has a happy ending for a gay couple in there as well. Also in the show "Seonam Girls High School Investigators", there is an episode that had South Korea's first ever lesbian kiss. (A lot of close minded Koreans were NOT happy with that one). But overall, I do think South Korea is becoming more tolerant, but you should also be wary of some of the content too.
Hey, Alex! You should read the webcomic Long Exposure by Mars on Tumblr or Tapas. It's about two seniors in high school who are partnered up for a science project. The older of the two, Mitch, has had a crush on Jonas since middle school. They break on to government property and somehow get super powers and they grow closer as they try to deal with their newfound powers and their crappy dads. It showcases serious issues like bi/homophobia, eating disorders, self image issues, parental abuse, and a lot of other things. It has that Nerd falls in love with the bad boy plot. It currently has 5, I think, chapters and is ongoing. The updates are usually 3-5 pages and it updates once every 1 to 2 weeks. The cast is fairly diverse in both personality types and race. Even though it has the two main characters have superpowers it still feels very real. It has decent following online.
YES I love Long Exposure so much!!!!! Check Please is also an amazing LGBT webcomic about two hockey players (one hockey player is in the NHL) falling in love and dealing with the struggles of coming out to friends, family, and fellow teammates
Alex have you seen or heard of “Pride” it is an amazing film it’s set in the UK in the 80s and it’s absolutely amazing and Andrew Scott is in it and i love it so much would recommend
I highly recommend the Song of Achilles! It follows the love stort between Achilles and Patroclus,, and its super well written and really sweet and gay and emotion
PSA FOR ALL YOU GUYS GALS AND NON BINARY PALS! YOU ALL NEED TO READ HEARTSTOPPER. ITS A COMIC ABOUT A THESE TO BRITISH HIGH SCHOOLERS AND THEY FALL IN LOVE AND IT TALKS ABOUT BULLYING AND HOW THE CHARACTERS OVER COME IT. ITS A REALLY SWEET STORY AND A REALLY BEAUTIFUL ARTSTYLE. Book:heartstopper Author:Alice Oseman
welcome to night vale is brilliant!! it’s a podcast and there’s gay ppl in it and it’s completely normalised in this really funny and weird town it’s honestly amazing pls listen
when you mentioned Captain Jack and Ianto cause they were one of my first experiences with the lgbt community and have made me more accepting of myself
Read the “Six Of Crows” series by Leigh Bardugo if you haven’t!!! It’s a two book series and has a gay relationship (with someone other than a white male and no burying of gays😱). It’s about these six criminals who are trying to pull off a heist and there’s magic and lots of crimes committed. I know my explanation isn’t great but seriously check out “Six Of Crows” by Leigh Bardugo!!!!
You should check out Maurice. Great novel and movie adaptation. Classic English literature story just not about girls getting married but about a young man realizing he's gay, in love, that society won't accept it and in spite of that the thing has a good ending. It's awesome.
All of the suggestions were amazing and I totally agree with everything. But I just want to add one more book series that I have fallen in love with. The series of books has three parts(" the foxhole court", "the raven king", "the kings men) "all for the game" is the name of this books series. It has the most perfect way of including gay characters, making the plot not about it, jut a side thing that developed between the characters. Mostly the book focuses on main character Neil and his hard life experiences and trouble with mafia and of course life with his teammates. It sounds cheesy but the book was a lot of hard truths and moments that make you cry, I wouldn't recommend it for young ones, it's more teen/adult book. Definitely recommend!!
Carol is a fantastic movie with great cinematography. Also, Cate Blanchett was as stunning as ever and wow i was just looking at her beauty and grace throughout the entire movie. *flails in lesbian*
I highly suggest the book Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Univers. It’s such an amazing book and it’s beautifully written. On a second not torchwood has me weeping 24/7 and you made me remember....
I remembered of one transgender movie "Ma vie en rose" (1997), a belgian movie about a transgender little girl and all the struggles she has to go through (seen a long time ago). And "XXY" (2007) a Argentinian movie about an intersex person, who the parents opted for leave him/her to choose what be as a grown-up. Very intense and interesting movie.
Has anyone else read The Song Of Achilles by Madeline Miller? Because honestly,it's absolutely my favourite gay book (and i assure you I've read plenty of LGBT+ books). It revolves around the Greek mythology of Achilles and Patroclus, two Greek soldiers during the Spartan war (following the events of the Illiad) growing up together. It follows the plot that one will do anything for the other and it's both sickly sweet and painfully heartbreaking. I always knew these two were in a relationship but every other history book claims them to be "haha i just killed an entire army and died for you, no homo tho" best pals. It's so nice to see them finally refered to lovers.
Hi ATG! I really love your videos, especially the episodes discussing Johnlock and Klance. I have been watching a lot of anime lately, and couldn't help but think "Are They Gay: Tokyo Mew Mew's Ryo & Keichiiro." Your videos seem to take up a big part of my life and whenever I think of my favorite ships, this is one of the first thing that comes to mind. Keep up the good work :D
Handsome Devil is set in Ireland....we don't get a lot of movies made in general so can you add an annotation to fix this ...we need more irish movies in general and it doesn't help with Americans labelling us as british and failing to even recognise the quite different accents.
Awwww...you're totally missing out on the gay stuff in other parts of the world. These are my faves: ***"God's Own Country"--a 2018 British movie about two men who fall in love on a desolate farm. It has the best happy ending I've ever seen in an gay film! :D ***"Lan Yu"--a 2000 Chinese movie about two Beijing men who fall in love. It was filmed in secret around Beijing. ***"Dear Ex"--a 2018 movie made in Taiwan. It's about a gay man coming out, splitting up with his wife, and living with his BF. ***"Y Tu Mama Tambien"--a 2001 Mexican movie about two teen boys who are best friends but discover they're gay for each other. ***"Bad Education"--a 2004 Spanish movie about two men who fall in love, and how they experienced terrible abuse as boys. ***"Stranger by the Lake"--a 2013 artsy French film about gay crusing that, honestly, can get graphic at times. But it was really well done, atmospheric and very gripping. ***"The Ornithologist"--a 2016 artsy Portuguese film that is very, very trippy. There are some gay scenes interspersed around since the protagonist is gay, I think? Quite trippy.
Eyewitness, it’s a show about two boys who see a murder and realize their feelings for each other. The leads are white but it has decent black and brown representation in the supporting cast. Like Carry On, it’s entire focus isn’t just about being gay, but it doesn’t shy away from issues like internalized homophobia and coming out. Also the couple is really sweet and cute. Trigger warning for TV-14 violence.
I recommend: Maurice (it's got everything that Brokeback Mountain and Call Me By Your Name have - gorgeous scenery, handsome actors, stellar acting and a compelling story, but unlike the former two, it has a happy ending.) Also, try Fyra Ar Till (Four More Years) which is lovely, Manner Wie Wir (Guys and Balls, which is a light German rom-com with some interesting characters). A Soldier's Girl (based on real events and so sad, but you need to watch it for Lee Pace's performance as Calpernia Addams), God's Own Country is highly recommended. If you want older films, Victim is one of the first British films to actually tackle the subject of homosexuality head on. I could write more, but this comment is already getting really long. I'm going to get a couple of those books you recommend. Cheers!
One thing people should totally check out is audio drama podcasts. There’s a TON of interesting queer fiction podcasts that definitely deserves attention. And *significantly* better & cooler than most mainstream media.
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH...YOU MENTIONED FALSETTOS! THANK YOU! Also Rainbow Rowell. I will forever love you now. Thank you so much for posting this.
Y'all people should read The Captive Prince trilogy. It doesn't center around the characters' romance, but at the same time builds their relationship steadily, and I loved it. I really liked Carry on, but personally, The Captive Prince was better.
These are all super good (I've seen most of them!) Thanks for the suggestions Alex! If anyone wants other queer books I'd suggest checking out "The upside of unrequited" and "Ask the passengers"
im baby same but *spoiler* I wish Simon got to keep his powers and I wish we got a scene where penny questions how baz and Simon got together lol that would be funny
How is no one talking about the house on the cerulean sea? There is a bit of controversy surrounding the author and reasons why he wrote the book but the story itself is so beautiful and the plot isn’t focused solely on the relationship.
Might I also recommend: Song of Achilles (book, gay), Black Sails (series, hella gay/polyamory/lesbian), American Gods (series, gay), Gideon the ninth (book, lesbians)
The Art Of Being Normal (I can’t remember the author’s name) is a book about a trans girl trying to gather the courage to come out. Content warning for transphobia though. George is a book by Alex Gino about a nine year old trans girl realizing that she is a trans girl. She wants to play Charlotte in the school production of Charlotte’s Web but isn’t allowed to because she’s a “boy”, so she tries to figure out how she can find a way to do so. Parrotfish is about a transboy named Grady right after he comes out; he is trying to be accepted by his family and school, but it’s very difficult for him. His only friend won’t speak to him after she becomes friends with popular girls that are transphobic and refuse to let her talk to Grady, he makes new friends and develops a crush on one of them. Content warning for transphobia, ACE Bandage binding, and suicide mention.
You should check out some Chinese and Taiwanese bl dramas. The ones that don't end tragically I mean. Like Sotus, and Addicted/Herion (my favorite), and more. They're not revolutionary or anything considering how homophobic especially China is, but they're really cute.
CreatureSoul446 omg i love sotus! And is adicted/heroin good because i found something about it while i was looking for something new and i didnt really dig deep to find out what its about
that's the show that got me into bl drama series. it's sort of a school romance with a family feud mixed in, and i love how the couple's relationship builds though the show. though it has no real ending since it was dropped after the first season. it is still worth watching, most certainly.
Taeyang's forehead I’ve been reading the translations of the novel, it’s really intense and emotionally taxing, but also really sweet sometimes. Their story really is addictive whether it feels like a fairytale or a train wreck, I can’t stop reading. Bai Louyin and Gu Hai’s relationship could easily be labeled as toxic, but like Hannibal and Will, I feel like they shouldn’t be with anyone else.
I've been reading it too, but i can't find anything past chapter 105. if you have, i woud like to know~ It's one of my favourite stories, i finished all i could find like it was nothing. too good...
If you're wlw I recommend Tamen de Gushi. It's a webcomic. It's about this sporty girl and a popular one. It's super cute and has a simple plot. It's pretty slow-paced though, so I don't recommend it if you don't like slow stories.
yooooo you should totally watch in the flesh! its really good and has characters that have good character development and aren't focused on just being gay
"Out of the corner of my eye, I saw a tumblr-esque drawing of two white guys and thought, 'That screams homoerotism.'"
erin h The artist is a comic artist by the name of Kevin Wada...and yeah he's gay
Knoxville Nuggins nice
Honestly
Don't you guys hate it when you're just innocently scrolling through the comments section and want to like a comment but it decides you actually want to reply to it?

It will live on in the fanfictions
OuCh
Is that Jeremy Heere
"That one episode of Torchwood where they go back in time and Jack Harkness and Jack Harkness fall in love"
I loved that episode
YESS
Ari Drago I freaking love that show :Dd I think I ship Ianto and Jack more than Jack and Jack tho..
since I haven't seen anyone say it, a lot of Rick Riordan's books have LGBT representation.
All LGBTQ+ characters: Nico, will, Apollo, Zephyr, Alex, Magnus, Commodus, Loki, and maybe Blitz and Hearth
He actually referenced The Song of Achilles. I mean, historians say that they're straight but I swear to god that Patroclus and Achilles are gay.
Hydrochloric Acid what series? Percy Jackson, Magnus Chase, heroes of Olympus or another
Alex Fierro is a gender fluid character In the Magnus Chase book series that doesn't die and is a main character from boom two and forward
Timmothy puggo technically they are all dead but in vahalla
All praise Rick Riordan, the king of representation
What Shrek said
They actually they do die and that's not even a spoiler. Rick Riordan is amazing when it comes to creating characters. Especially in Magnus Chase, there are so many diverse characters and I love every single one.
YESSSSSSS
Take a shot every time Alex says something is his *_aesthetic_* lol
hello im an angel that died from alcohol poisoning and im here to fulfill my duty
fucc u
*phases into the afternoon*
i'd rather not go to the hospital for alcohol poisoning today thanks
And take another one for every time he uses it INCORRECTLY. "That's so aesthetic" doesn't even make any sense.
Yayy! Shameless is my favorite show! I think it also really tries to educate viewers on different kinds of relationships, like Kev, V, and Svetlana.
OMG YESSSSSSS
But like Ian and Micky...?
there was russian adaptation of shameless and when it was recently announced i thought “wow, it will be great to watch russian version of ian, because russia is so homophobic and being gay in russia is hard, especially in small towns”. BUT THERE IS NO GAY CHARACTER IN RUSSIAN SHAMELESS. now he just likes elder women. well, very relatable i guess 🤷🏻♀️
Ian and Mickey are the best😍 I'm really too invested in their relationship at this point and I can't stop😂
I especially like the movie adaptation. Though it can’t stack up against the book.
savvysav Love, Simon!
I read that a while ago after already watching the movie cause I didn't know there was a book and I was very pleasantly surprised by the way it was written compared to the movie. Don't get me wrong the movie was food but the book was just *chef's kiss*, basically a whole different story.
There is a lot here and I've probably forgotten something

one foreign film i really liked but i never hear about is a film called North Sea Texas. please check it out, it’s very cinematic and aesthetics’s well.
ok so just realized he already said it in the video. i’m dull.
One movie that was on hulu (I don’t know if it’s still there) was The Departure and it was like CMBYN before CMBYN and it’s also the gay teens in a foreign country in an earlier time period aesthetic. Please look for it and watch it if you can.
Omg I have never seen people talk about Victim (1961) even though it is really good film so thank you

Call Me By Your Name is beautiful and heartwrenching. 10/10 would recommend.
Ruined peaches for me, do not recommend for peach lovers 0/10
predatory af 0/10
tbh any lgbtq+ related love story in any generation is my aesthetic
Please.
Fucking love Maurice
FlanelFil yeahhh
UGH IK I LOVED IT SM
THIS MOVIE DESERVES SO MUCH MORE RECOGNITION best romance of all time fight me on this
Hol A the book is WONDERFUL, I liked it more than the film
Call me by your name is my favorite book and my favorite movie so I highly recommend it
Yesss its one of the only films that represents well the book. The narrative of the novel its so dense and complex yet so easy to read that you are in a constant state of "wow" (excuse my awful english btw)
@@lisshvh9059 why is it so good? Isn't just a romance between a young and less young men?
omg the book is friggin amazing 😍😍
ARISTOTLE AND DANTE DISCOVER THE SECRETS OF THE UNIVERSE NEEDS TO BE ON YOUR RADAR!!!!!!! Also, season 3 of SKAM (it's an anthology series so you can get away with just watching season 3).
Los Angeles Yes, SKAM!! Also, I love that book so much! As a Latina, that also lives in Texas, I just related to it so much...
Los Angeles, I screamed yes when I saw this comment it’s such a good book, I’m so happy I’m not alone!
Los Angeles SKAM SKAM SKAM!
OMG THANK YOU I JUST COMMENTED ON THAT IT'S SUCH A GOOD BOOK ❤❤
my favorite book of all time
When it said "wtf Harry Potter's already gay" I died. Also I personally think he's Bi but leans more towards guys but what ever floats ur boat
Ok but who is excited for Love, Simon
Sarah Winslow I'm so pumped for that movie
MEEEE i adored the book it was my first lgbt novel
I'm excited.
I read the book and I can’t wait to see the movie.
Uhh, I think the REAL question is, who *ISN'T* excited for Love, Simon!?
Well I'm not proud of it but, Magnus and Alec in shadowhunters clearly are my guilty pleasure of the moment. Also "the way he looks" is my feel good movie. This one is so cute I could die and it kinda change me of my usual Brokeback Mountain drama (that I also adore... I'm hopeless)
12/10 would recommend watching The Handmaiden if you enjoy stories about lesbians getting revenge on abusive men (as a warning there are some explicit scenes)
i love that movie!
thats like my favourite movie its incredible and beautiful so much feelings about this movie
Yes! My friend recommended the movie to me and it was amazing; the plot twists, the passion the actors showed and the setting are just absolutely amazing
Holy shucks is sooooo good i love it
I really like Seven Days.
Same that’s my favourite book and I cried so much
I´m actually reading that rn, and so far it´s awesome
yoel alejandro YES
My sister bought it for me for my birthday, but I haven't read it yet. Could you explain it for me so I can see if I should read it?
You should definatly read it. All you need to know is that it ends happy and it's amazing
CALL ME BY YOUR NAME IS ORIGINALLY A BOOK AND IT'S WRITTEN SO BEAUTIFULLY AND POETICALLY I HIGHLY SUGGEST YOU READ IT IT'S IN A LOT OF BOOKSTORES
(i bought myself a copy for christmas best impulse buy e v e r))
also en kort en lang (shake it all about) is really good! it's in danish but you can probably find a version with english subtitles somewhere and it has mads mikkelsen in it!! as the bisexual main character!!
I wonder what his aesthetic is
justførkicks nah I think it's pansexuals in the 90s
Asexuals in the year 3000
Homosexuals in 500 BC
anything that is not stright
Gay in 50s ; Vaporwave
"Call me by your name" was beautiful and I cried and I read the book and I listened to the audio book and God it was just so good!
BuckyBarnesAndNoble YESSSSSSSS
I loved it so please give it a try if you haven’t.
gay 60's is such an aesthetic tbh
Just gotta say that Skam has an absolutely amazing gay story arc It's in season three, but each season is focused on a different character and has a different story so you don't need to watch the other ones to watch three (though they are also very good and worth watching).
Falsettos and Fun Home are soooo good!! I would recommend BBC's In The Flesh and the books Aristole and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe and the Heart Rate of A Mouse series by Anna Green
Jade Nerhys bruv it's been 88 years and I'm still very angry they canceled in the flesh
Ari and Dante is the best thing
IN THE FLESH =DDDDD
Jade Nerhys love Falsettos and Fun Home - and Ari and Dante is amazing!
Have a few more recommendations on me:
Books:
-Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe
- The inexplicable Logic of my Life (nice undertone here, not the main focus but a great read anyhow)
-Simon vs the Homo Sapiens agenda
-We are the ants
-Love in the Time of Global Warming (it’s been a while since I read this. I can’t remember how prevalent the gay™ is)
-More Than This (undertone, not the main focus, but I still loved it as a book)
-The Upside of Unrequited (not the main character, secondary to a hetero romance if I remember correctly, kind of a plot device, but still positive representation)
-Oranges Are Not the Only Fruit
-We Are Okay
-If I was Your Girl
-George
-The Art of Being Normal
And there’s more, but I’m on a bus and can’t remember
Other media:
-Shadowhunters (much healthier in the tv show than the books (i’ve only seen the show, this is from what I’ve heard). Not the *main* focus but still clear and nice to watch. For the main scenes see s1 ep12 and s2 ep18 )
-Sense8
-Torchwood (not only is there the one episode with captain jack, but there is also other representation throughout the show with both female and male characters, and I really love it (even though there’s a bit of the whole kill the gays.) Take it from me when I say they’re all bisexual, even if the show doesn’t)
-Doctor Who (representation is best in the most recent season with Bill as the doctor’s companion, and there has been other representation, but I don’t know the episodes by heart so google it! I love doctor who so I’m probably biased about this one when I say watch it)
-GBF
-The Brooklyn 99 (underlying theme throughout, a poc gay character, and most recently a latina bi character)
-The Imitation Game
-Fourth Man Out (not too much plot, just a chill sort of film)
-How To Get Away With Murder (don’t watch if you’re not too into murder)
-In A Heartbeat (short but full of feels)
-But I’m A Cheerleader
I have forgotten everything I’ve ever watched oops. Oh well, enjoy!
"don't watch if you're not too into murder"? lol I hope no one's into murder! But thank you for this great list!
werdnaahsinnik ahhh that does sound kind of bad lol, I should have worded it better 😂
Olivia Oh yes I love GBF, it's so crap but also great
Also if Lies We Tell Ourselves is amazing!! It’s very interesting, it’s about interrogation in the 1950s and a lesbian relationship between a POC and someone who comes from a very anti-interrogation background and family!! 10/10 would recommend
- ‘the Song of Achilles’ is a good book too
Read The Song of Achilles!!!
That book destroys me every time. It's beautiful, but so sad.
Amooo, ótimo livro ❤
*Read the first half of The Song of Achilles!!!
Yes and smile... and than, at the end, cry until there is a flood...
😭😭😭🔥❤️❤️
OH ALSO "But I'm a Cheerleader" IS THE BEST
Olivia Beebe Definetly!!
Yessss
YES!! So funny!
OMG A CLASSIC!
sadly I thought it was pretty boring
Lilly S
It's Norvegian and I agree, it's amazing.
I just watched Season 3 and I got it lol
Bro you should watch all the seasons. Each one is pretty much a stand alone kind of thing but all the seasons are awesome.
Anei ._. Idk man I had to stop watching the first season because the drama was a little too intense for me
the whole show is incredible tbh, but yeah i watched isak's season the most...😏
BOOKS:
Timekeeper by Tara Sim is set in an alternate Victorian world where time is controlled by magic clocktowers.
WEBCOMICS:
Homestuck by Andrew Hussie includes a race of predominantly bisexual aliens (one of whom is not bisexual, but a lesbian), a lesbian girl, a bisexual boy, a gay boy, and his boyfriend with an unconfirmed sexuality and a non-binary character.
TV SHOWS:
Class: the Doctor Who spin-off no one asked for. The main couple is gay and that's basically why I watched it. I really liked it though, even if it was a bit trashy.
Thanks, now I know what I'm gonna spent my moneyz on in 2020 😔😔😔 (reminds me I still haven't read The Dark Artifacts that I bought like 3 weeks ago-)
I SPOTTED CARRY ON. MY FAVOURITE BOOK
books and cleverness HELLA
Me too!!!! Love that book. It's seriously the greatest book I've ever read it's so good and Rainbow Rowell is by far my favorite author.
(Also, his boyfriend in Trials of Apollo is the absolute best and they're such a sweet couple and they're written as "gay, but that's absolutely okay" and I applaud)
Apollo, the protagonist for Trials of Apollo (go figure) is the most Pansexual Disaster you've ever seen and he's had like, 44 significant others in his godly lifetime. We stan a pan legend.
All in all, the three series' are all really amazing and you should read them all!
44???
Pfff that's waaaaaaaaaaaay too less
i'm from germany my favorite book of all time is, surprisingly, one by a german author called andreas steinhöfel. it's called the center of the world and it's the most beautifully written novel i have ever read. it's about phil who is gay and falls in love with the new student nicholas and i don't even want to tell you anything about that book because it's just so beautiful. it's so aesthetic and so far away from homosexual stereotypes, it's not your 08/15 coming of age gay novel, it's about so much more. the story could have even been the same if nicholas was a girl, but he's a boy and that adds so much more beautiful and definitely not annoying or over the top drama. it's honestly just the best book i've ever read and it made me cry so so so much. please, alexander, please read it. i swear you will fall in love with it.
and the best movie i have ever seen has a gay couple in it as well (wow, shocking) and it's called kill your darlings. now, i really hope you know that one already, because if not, i'm crying. 10/10 need to watch. it's with daniel radcliffe and dane dehaan, based on a true story about two writers of the beats generation in america in the 1940s, incredibly well shot, incredibly touching story, incredibly interesting characters. really, it's just the best movie i know.
Valentia There also is a movie made after the book you’re talking about
i know, i've seen the movie, but it's so shit against the book. if you don't read the book, you don't get the story. the book lives so frickin much on the way it's written. honestly, you can't turn this book into a movie that does it justice. they tried, but no one could have done it. plus, the actor for nicholas is kinda horrible for his role, doesn't seem at all like the nicholas in the book.
Valentia I didn’t know, do you think that I can read it in english ?
random thoughts i haven’t read it in english yet and while i believe it’ll work better in german (simply bc you can play with words and sentencd structure more in german) you should definitely read it in any language that you can. This book is too amazing to not be read.
Valentia okay, because I’m french and I took spanish as a 2nd language instead of german (I regret lol) therefore, there is no way I can read it in german ahah... But I will give it a try in english then, thanks for the info :)
6:07 "colin firth is my aesthetic"
BOIIIIIIIIIIIIII
I sold my soul at the alter of worshipping Colin Firth so long ago. **intense weeping**
Yesss!!! The Handmaiden is one of my favorite movies! It's story is so amazing and the film overall is just ridiculously ~aesthetic~
To sum this video up
Alex just talks about how aesthetic 60% of these movies/shows are
YEESSS I LOVE IT
YES I love Long Exposure so much!!!!! Check Please is also an amazing LGBT webcomic about two hockey players (one hockey player is in the NHL) falling in love and dealing with the struggles of coming out to friends, family, and fellow teammates
"There's a tiny percentage of media in which we don't die"
Me: *cries because in The Originals Josh and Aiden died and I'm not okay*
Alex have you seen or heard of “Pride” it is an amazing film it’s set in the UK in the 80s and it’s absolutely amazing and Andrew Scott is in it and i love it so much would recommend
Orla Fitzpatrick always makes me cry
I highly recommend the Song of Achilles! It follows the love stort between Achilles and Patroclus,, and its super well written and really sweet and gay and emotion
Can I just say that the gay couple in Mordern Family is my asthetic
Faolan the Alpha ikr

Cara M I'm here and I'm queer!
Cara X here
Read the “Six Of Crows”
series by Leigh Bardugo if you haven’t!!!
Okay, love you Alex, but we get it. Being gay in the 60s is your aesthetic.
You should check out Maurice. Great novel and movie adaptation. Classic English literature story just not about girls getting married but about a young man realizing he's gay, in love, that society won't accept it and in spite of that the thing has a good ending. It's awesome.
You should watch Sense8.
YES Sense8 is just incredible!!
Yayoi Sense8 is a must watch. I'm hoping they will find a platform for season 3.
YES ITS SO GOOD!!!!!
Yayoi +
bullets stan it’s like
8 people are somehow mentally connected? It’s hard to explain but the show is AWESOME
Esse livro é lindo à sua maneira.
The way he looks was the first positive piece of media about gay people that I'd ever consumed, it has a special place in my heart
I love falsettos. I started crying when it showed up on the screen.
Yes, Falsettos!
Keep up the good work :D
bless this video cause i just finished watching every single lgbtqia+ movie on netflix
I am living for all these Ari and Dante comments
that's one of my favorite books of all time along with carry on.
Handsome Devil is set in Ireland....we don't get a lot of movies made in general so can you add an annotation to fix this ...we need more irish movies in general and it doesn't help with Americans labelling us as british and failing to even recognise the quite different accents.
Yessss
Awwww...you're totally missing out on the gay stuff in other parts of the world. These are my faves:
***"God's Own Country"--a 2018 British movie about two men who fall in love on a desolate farm. It has the best happy ending I've ever seen in an gay film! :D
***"Lan Yu"--a 2000 Chinese movie about two Beijing men who fall in love.
Have you watched The Danish Girl yet?
It's such an amazing and heartbreaking movie.
Kill Your Darlings is good too and it has harry potter in it
StationaryParticles
I know about it, just haven't watched it yet
I cried so much while watching the danish girl it's such an amazing and heartwarming movie ❤️
JakYEE D I love your username
It's that daveed diggs as you're profile picture?
A book I totally recommend is A Gentleman’s Guide To Vice And Virtue. It’s one of my favourites.
YESSS FINALLY
I'm reading it right now and your comment is the first one that includes this awesome masterpiece
Cheers!
CALL ME BY YOUR NAME I'VE WAITED YEARS FOR THIS
HANDSOME DEVIL OWNS MY HEART 😭😭😭😭😭
I'll always shout out Shelter as one of my favorite LGBT films.
One thing people should totally check out is audio drama podcasts. There’s a TON of interesting queer fiction podcasts that definitely deserves attention. And *significantly* better & cooler than most mainstream media.
No "But I'm a Cheerleader"? Tragic.
Jebbie Cavanagh Honestly I was waiting for it but it never came
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH...YOU MENTIONED FALSETTOS! THANK YOU! Also Rainbow Rowell. I will forever love you now. Thank you so much for posting this.
The song of Achilles is freaking amazing, y'all should read it !!!
soa is amazing! but it also ruined my life a little too lol
Tsoa sent me into a self destructive downward spiral, I loved it
Yesssss 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I loved it sooo much
amazing and life ruining? I'm in
Y'all people should read The Captive Prince trilogy.
CARRY ON IS A M A Z I N G AND I LOVE EVERYONE (besides the mage)
im baby same but
*spoiler*
I wish Simon got to keep his powers and I wish we got a scene where penny questions how baz and Simon got together lol that would be funny
@@Hayden_Cat yesss but even though he didn't get to keep his powers its a wonderful component that makes the second book so fuckin good
Ricey I need part 3 like right now because that cliff hanger in part 2 was not ok 😭
I highly recommend Bojack Horseman if you want to see an amazingly well written asexual character!
Who's asexual? Bojack dates a few thousand people through the story xD
Matheus D. Rodrigues ooh yeah not Bojack xD It's another character, it's not a massive spoil but I think it's better to keep it as a good surprise :3
Someone very close to me watched it because i mentioned that and came out to me about a month later
How is no one talking about the house on the cerulean sea? There is a bit of controversy surrounding the author and reasons why he wrote the book but the story itself is so beautiful and the plot isn’t focused solely on the relationship.
"did I say we die alot in media *zooms in on Whizzer face* aw yeah well that sucks" SOBS
I watched CMBYN the other day and it is honestly sooooo good!!!
please let 2018 be a gayer year. amen
AMEN!!!!
The way you pronounce San Junipero made me laugh so muchhhh, you're amazing!💛
Same, Alex same. There's only 2 theaters that show Call Me By Your Name and it's like 26 miles away.
CALL ME BY YOUR NAME IS THE BEST FREAKING MOVIE IN THE WORLD IT IS ABSOLUTE ART AND OH GOD I WANNA CRY AGAIN
I'M STILL NOT OVER IT
You should check out some Chinese and Taiwanese bl dramas.
I've been reading it too, but i can't find anything past chapter 105. if you have, i woud like to know~ It's one of my favourite stories, i finished all i could find like it was nothing. too good...
Okay but sotus was adorable and ever since I watched it, strawberry milk is now my aesthetic.
IN THE FLESH IS MY SHIT I'M SO GLAD ANOTHER PERSON RECOMMENDED IT
OH MY GOD IN THE FLESH IS SO FUCKING GOOD AND SO UNDERAPPRECIATED I NEVER EXPECTED TO SEE IT RECOMMENDED
YEs
Omg YES CARRY ON thank you for mentioning iiiiiit! It's my favorite book of all effin' time! :D
