We've had a few people tell us they take an antiparasitic pill once a year. They are readily available at most pharmacies. We never took them, though. I'm curious why so many people are leery of health care here in Mexico. We've had nothing but positive experiences. Thanks for sharing your experience!

Yes, you should know that in Mexico, especially on ranches or in the countryside where farm animals, goats, rabbits, chickens and other animals are raised, people always get infected with parasites, amoebas (amoebae), worms and insect bites...
it's not because there's no hygiene, but because most of the time they get contaminated by the farm, the soil, dirty rain water and other factors...
and remember, small children always put their hands in their mouths without washing their hands...
but by taking precautions, always washing your hands and mouth with clean or boiled water, you'll have less chance of getting sick...
good luck, have a good time...

Doctors in the states don't believe in parasite and they won't test for them either. And there are so many people in the states getting sick.
I'm happy your daughter is doing much better and is a happy and joyful one.

I hope you all feel better soon. A lot of doctors would do well to learn to trust a mother’s instinct when it comes to treating children.

Hello Erin, I am a nutritionist, this is common when being in contact with our animals or pets among other reasons (such as street food), perhaps PP was not used to that type of parasites, which is why it affected her a lot. The normal thing in Mexico is to take deworming pills once a year, but obviously always consult a doctor first. One more thing, parasites can also be external like ticks and I say this because you should also take care of those that can also cause certain fevers :D

Hola ! I have a question. We do take a a antiparasitic medication once a year but I sometimes I am concerned about that. I don't know if that would have bad side effects as well. Also thank you for watching !

    • @chuyjose2073
      @chuyjose2073 6 місяців тому +3

@@touchoflighthomesteadmexico Yes, it could have side effects like all medications, but in the case of dewormers it could slightly affect the microbiota, which are the good microbes that live inside our intestines. But just that, it's nothing to worry about. Even so, the consumption of probiotics would help recover the microbiota after consuming dewormers or antibiotics. :D

Oh my God. I admire you so much for being so brave to move to live in Mexico. I love Mexico but I would probably have a hard time getting used in living there. I was born in Tijuana which is the border with United States but we moved to Lawndale California when i was 4 years old. We still come to Mexico on vacation and stay up to 2 weeks and I love it, but I am not sure if I could stay and live here. Hopefully Christiano is better now.

Parasites are rampant in animals especially on a ranch. Just washing hands thoroughly before eating is what drs would tell us. Also, don’t walk around barefoot where the animals are kept ❤

In hot weather, parasites and bacteria reproduce the most. You should be careful with what you eat on the street, and fruits and vegetables should be disinfected very well, in addition to washing your hands well afterward. to grab the animals, for the same reason that the heat makes all types of bugs reproduce more, greetings

The very first time I went to Mexico for a Boda and a Quince, the night before we left I was so sick and my ex sister in law got me medicine from the pharmacy and when I got home, I was still down sick for two weeks. The second time I went to Mexico, I went with friends and right after we got off the plane, we went to the Super Mercado and got the pill to take every day of our stay and stuff to wash our fruits and vegetables! I never got sick. I’ve been to Mexico, three more times since and have not gotten sick. I am going again in November and now know what to do to keep my family safe from sickness!

Historically from the Tropic of Capricorn to the Tropic Of Cancer disease, bacterial, parasitic, you name it has been the slayer of new peoples to the area. In these latitudes the warm temperatures ensure fast evolution of many types of things that can kill you. Northerners have the winters which is a reset every year.

I can’t explain it, but there is something intriguing about how you engage the camera. Your honesty and genuine warmth pulls us into your world. My husband was born in Mexico and his Mother gave all the kids (and the adults) Vermox every 6 months regardless of symptoms or not. Here in DFW you can find the medicine if you know where to go. They pump your gas so you don't fill and run off. It's wonderful in Mexico that you can fill your prescription more than once over there and there is usually a doctor right next door to the pharmacy for convivence. There is also another pharmacy chain that only sells generic prescription meds which are more affordable. I too prefer Mexico to the USA even though they also have their set of issues.

Sorry to hear your family is having stomach issues. Unfortunately eating street food is a major culprit in stomach issues. But it's hard not to eat the food they sell. Things like tacos where the meat is exposed to the air and preparation is also a problem at times.
Most adults do develop tolerance to these things and avoid getting seriously sick, but for a four year old it can cause havoc. As for the medicine. None brand names are also good and effective. So you shouldn't have huge problems there. Sadly living in a third world country one will encounter these issues, but taking the proper steps to ensure hygiene goes a long way. Hope your daughter get well soon.
Blessings to you and you family.

Wishing you the best and always whatever the doctor tells you just do your own research. I’ve also heard coconut water from the coconut fruit is really good and great for parasites. I live in the USA and get a box full of coconuts at a fruit warehouse. In Mexico is much easier to purchase and economical. Also try to eat healthy and always home cooked meals.

I passed a big one not knowing I had one when I took ivermectin only one dose of it had to stop because i was breastfeeding and didn’t feel comfortable taking it while nursing but was in a strict diet at the time eating caldos and veggies and lots of papaya not the seeds though only papaya and i passed it and immediately freaked out thought I let was part of my intestines lol TMI but I felt soo much better and like 5 lbs lighter.

In reality, what happened with your girl is that she reached the maximum of normal bacteria that a person can have.( El cuerpo solo avisa limpiar)
All living beings have all types of bacteria inside our stomach. Especially children who eat all kinds of things without constantly washing their hands.
These microorganisms have always existed. The difference is that since the microscope was invented. It only increased concern and consumerism of chemicals that are not good for the body either.
A healthy diet without so much sugar. More normal hygiene. They keep any bacteria in check.
Every 3 months. It is good to naturally cleanse our stomach.
All animals have bacteria in their hair. since they lie on the floor. After playing with them. You have to wash your hands. There is no need to panic. it is the law of life. We are biological beings.
