    None of this is fair to Bol. She’s being pushed as a rival to Syd. She’s never beat Syd or come close. Shes not on her level. No one is. Sydney is a generational athlete. Platforms promote Shacarri and Noah, but Sydney is the Olympic headliner. She breaks records, and closes the show. I’ve been watching her run since high school at the Penn Relays. Then on to Kentucky. The last vision on the track will be her crossing the finish line first with the baton in the 4x400 relay. She’s the 🐐

      @Keeks1983 many people do know who Sydney is. She has pretty much the same IG followers as Noah. There's nothing wrong with how much they cover Noah and Shacarri. They're the most outspoken athletes and at the top of their events. Shacarri beat both shelly and Jakko at Budapest. Noah beat everyone at Budapest and in the 100 at Paris. Why do you think track athletes need to always break WRs to be talked about?

    Sydney blew out Olympic 200m gold medalist Gabby Thomas at the LA Grand Prix before the Olympic trials. When dude as if she would run the 200m at the trials and possibly the Olympics her response was “oh no, I’m just running it now to get in some speed work”. WTH!!! She runs the 200m just for practice and blows out the best 200m runner in the world. UNREAL!!!!! Syd is next level and hasn’t come near tapping into her full potential. • @zaynes5094
      @zaynes5094 5 місяців тому +3

      @kennethjohnson8570 She was definitely more disappointed in her time than in her place I think.
      She obviously can go sub 48 in open 400s. I just wanted to see her compete because she has always had a great kick at the end.
      That happened last year at the worlds when in the semifinals, despite them going on to beat the Americans in the Finals of that Mixed 4x400, the American woman passed her and she slipped and lost her balance but still finished in 2nd place.
      IN long distance running, we get used to running in packs and running on the track side-by-side and front-to-back, but sprinters aren't really used to being closed in with one lane used.
      She just wasn't used to the big lights this time around and started really tightening up the last 50.
      Not something she usually does.
      She's known to be a great closer in the last 40 meters, but if Sydney and Michael Cherry were in that Mixed 4x400 final, instead of Andrew Norwood who messed that first leg up for the US team and then Bryce Deadmon had to get them back in it, if it were the men ending it, then he would've won them the gold.
      They would've broken the record again, too if they had Syd and Michael Cherry, who at 29 is still running consistent low 44s in the 4x400.

    There is NO rivalry between Syd and Bol. In order for there to be even remote talk of a rivalry, Bol has to actually win against Sydney. And that AIN'T happening. No disrespect to Bol. She's a great runner, but unfortunately for her, she exists in the same space and time as Sydney, who is a once in a lifetime athlete in her discipline.

    The 400m distance for both hurdles and flat is the perfect race to measure an athlete’s speed, power and will.
    The fact that these runners are literally sprinting around that track at 100% is hard to describe to non-runners…go out to your local track and imagine being able to run 100% around that long distance.
    Then try it…if you can last half that distance ur in decent shape…

    • @cbarnes011
      @cbarnes011 5 місяців тому +1

      @@yellowlac I don’t think many competitors like the “Lyles method”. It’s almost like selling out, especially if it’s not one’s personality. That’s why the guy that won the 200 made that comment and Kenny smirked. Before Bolt, that wasn’t a requirement for sponsorship. I think it’s Bolt’s personality, Lyles is putting on.

    • @yellowlac
      @yellowlac 5 місяців тому +1

      @@cbarnes011 I agree. It’s selling out, if it’s not your personality. It’s less about Bolt and more about tech & consumer behavior. Before Bolt, social media wasn’t HUGE and fans didn’t mind the mystique of celebrities/athletes. Now, fans want all access and we have the tech to provide it (social media, UA-cam, camera phones, etc). The sponsors know this too. My agent buddy, said that now sponsors always ask about the athletes’ “social reach” and “fan engagement” when evaluating potential sponsorships. So, Grant & others have to evolve/innovate if they want those sponsorship dollars.
