  • I got to the beach when the tide was still a little high, but it paid off with some absolutely lovely shell finds!! I would have liked to stay longer, but alas, it could not be. I'm so thankful that I was able to grab these lovely treasures, and that rare Angaria shell, wow!!
Let me know which ones were your favourites ;D and if you enjoyed this and want to see more shell finding videos, I'd appreciate a like or a comment. I read all of them and try to reply when I can. You have no idea how much of a smile you guys put on my face. Thanks everyone!

G'day everyone! Wow, you're actually reading the description? Um, thank you! You will be rewarded with extra content... my Facebook page (link above) is loaded with out-takes and deleted scenes that don't make it into the UA-cam videos. Check out the extra funsies over there if you're desperate for more shelling content ;D

I didn't even realise that Point Cartwright and the surrounding beaches had such lovely seashells until I saw "Shellcade Shelling Down Under" - I admire him a lot, and you can check out his amazing videos here:

    Good evening, Maddie
The waves were very big and beautiful. The Hebrew cone was very nice, along with the drupe shells, zebra volute, the limpit was a very nice one. The trupet, and triton shells. The bubble shell is too cute, and to learn, they turn pink under a black light was cool. The Alou rock shell was a 1st for me. Loved the transfer of the hermit crab. So many others are just amazing. Thank you again for another wonderful shelling video. You are always so upbeat and fun to watch. Thank you, Maddie
    Have a great day.

G'day Toni 👋🏻💖 Oh gosh, the waves were quite high on that day!! I also went when the tide was still a bit high, and left right on low tide (I needed to get back home for an optometrist appointment...ahhh, time for new glasses again) but there was still a lot to find even at this time of day 🐌 I had to choose between looking around for another 20 minutes, or attempting the hermit crab transfer 🐚🦀 Phew, I'm glad it was successful, I think it really put a bounce in my step for the rest of the day 😁 As for the other shells, wow, that irregular patterned Hebrew Cone was lovely, and the Drupe shells were a nice surprise (the Alou Rock Shell is an Orange Drupe which I have found before, I just never called it by it's alternate name before). I'm thrilled that you enjoyed the wildlife and beach visit today 🥰 thank you so much for watching 🦀🐚💖

I’m with everyone else… the crab transfer was AMAZING! I definitely would have waited it out for that angaria shell!!! 🐚🐚🐚 My second favorite was the hinged scallop. Firstly being both halves and second its color. Lots of beautiful cowries and cones today. I thought Mr. Seahair was really cute. 🥰 Really fun adventure today! Thank you Maddie! 🩷🩷🩷

G'day Pam 👋🏻💖 Hehe, it was really exciting to see the transfer succeed!! I mean, I did look away, but the result was still amazing 🤩 it was fun to pocket this rarer shell in exchange for a battered one! The hinged scallop today was lovely, the orange colour was lovely. I rarely find them hinged, too. I'm so glad that you enjoyed this adventure today, I had a heap of fun 🤩 Thank you for watching, Pam 🥰

G'day Reet 👋🏻💖 Hehe, I was impressed too 🤩 I've tried it before and the crabs weren't that interested 🤔 but this time...? I really think the Angaria shell was just too heavy for poor Mr Crab to drag around 🥲 but yes, I'm 100% a qualified real estate agent now 🤣😉 Thank you so much for watching the funsies on this beach day 🏖️🐌 the Hebrew Cone was a lovely one too, right?! Thanks for watching, Reet 🥰

G'day Melisa 👋🏻💖 Thank you, it was a really lovely day! Hehe, I sat there because I knew I wouldn't be able I find the shells again if I walked away... so much of the rock pools look so similar in that part of the beach ⛱️ plus, I didn't want anyone else to take them!! It was a lot of fun to see the crabbie contemplating his options 🦀🐚 I'm hoping that these less-seen shells will be making more appearances with the winter shelling seasons. Fingers crossed for some good ones!! Thank you so much for watching 🥰

The hermit crab shell switch-a-roo was awesome! I would try that at my beach, but I don't think I would have anything good enough to tempt them to change. The crabbies always take the moon snails and turbans.

    • @SandCoffeeRocks
      @SandCoffeeRocks  Рік тому +1

G'day Erin 👋🏻💖 It was quite exciting to have the hermit crab transfer actually succeed!! I can't believe I was so lucky; first to find a crab that actually wanted a new home, and to have actually picked up the "right" new home a little earlier that day! Wow...it wasn't even nice of a shell (a bit worn and tumbled), I was surprised when I saw it in my shell bag, I must have shoved it in without thinking because I'm usually a bit more fussy with Spengler's Trumpets these days 😅 anyway, I'm rambling on 🥲🤭 Definitely try it at your beach if you see a shell you really like... The replacement shell doesn't even need to be a nice one, apparently 🤔 get yourself those moon snails in exchange for??? Tulips shells?? I don't actually know what you find 🤣 I'm rambling again. Thanks for watching, Erin 🥰

And oh goodness, there are SO MANY sea hares around the place right now! I didn't see any for months at one point and now BOOM, I gotta watch where I'm stepping now 🤣 they are pretty cute and cool creatures 😎 Thank you so much for watching the adventure today 🥰

    Wow!!!
    First My favorite…. Drum roll!!!!
The moon snail right in the front row is my favorite ( I can’t say the Angaria cause that’s obviously an AMAZING find)
But now let’s talk about that transfer 😮 like even my husband looked up from his phone to watch. And nothing gets his eyes to peel off this phone when he is playing a game. That was truly impressive. That crabby was like “yeah Dude! NEW HOME DAY!!” Just camera shy 😊
    Congrats on the finds Maddie!!
    Happy/Safe Shelling 🐚❤️
Ps. He was watching a Short over and over to see how the magic trick was done 😂😂 Men

G'day Mykel 👋🏻💖 Oh wow, the little Migrating Moon Snail 🐌 was the favourite?! I love those ones too, I think I've only ever found a handful of them?? Hah, and you can like the Angaria as well 😉 gosh, I've been lazy, I need to clean my shells!
Ohhh cool, you enjoyed the transfer?! The crabbie stuck his head into the new shell a few times for several minutes, but I wasn't sure if would actually go through with it. I couldn't see anything because the shell opening were pressed right up against each other. I'm pretty pleased that I even got your husband to be a bit interested in the New Home Day 🤩
Hahaha gosh, I'm sure he'll be showing you some great magic tricks in no time! Or maybe he'll be showing off to your kiddo. He's a good one!!

Ahh, and like you, I love that big white moon snail 🐌🤍 Oh wow, yes, Hermit Crabs do tend to change a lot, it just takes them a bit of time to decide if they really want the new shell 🐚 so glad I found one earlier that was the right size and he liked it!! @@SandCoffeeRocks Yes Maddie 48vshells I wrote them all down. I did love my favorites awesome finds. My crabs loved playing shell games and I loved seeing their bodies. I had real ocean sand too when I could get it or regular sand box sand. My big crab Petey from OBX did not change shells tho but I did have him for several years. He was in a Black/white turbo shell and reall huge with bug claws. He bit me when I bought him and wow did it hurt. Had to run him under water to get him to release my finger. They are awesome creatures. XXOO. TRUDY

I've heard that Hermit Crabs are a challenging animal to care for, but it must be so rewarding to look after them well 🤩 gosh, it almost makes me want to have hermit crab pets too, and see them in the shells that I collect from the beach. I'm not sure they're sold here anymore...I don't think the pet stores have them 🤔 Oh well, I'm not really sure how to take care of them anyway 😅
