I was wondering if you ever used the Psychic Tarot book which acts as a guidebook for the Aquarian Tarot. I received my first deck years ago and the Psychic Tarot Book came with it. Being an intuitive rather than a seasoned reader, that book and deck was my portal to Tarot. Craig Junjulas was excellent for the beginner in reading cards, auras, and numerology.
Thank you for doing this! I enjoyed it....and I had not seen the New Palladini before, so especially appreciated seeing both of them side-by-side like this. Thank you!
I love The Aquarian Tarot. The art style is so gorgeous. It reminds me of the some of the illustration styles I used to see in my elementary school readers. I was fascinated by the soft washes of color. It's sad that Palladini has passed. Thank you for this tribute. Oh, and I think I'm going to get the smaller tin version now. ❤♠♦♣ 😊
I just found this video. I didnt knew he passed away. Sad . I have for years only the Thoth, Aquarian an the Morgan Greer wich is my favorite . Live the 70's vibe. My Aquarian is a borderless back in spanish from 1993, Belgium printed. Is so amazing, the cardstock the art, everything, is very haunting to me. The Queen of swords is the best queen I have seen, and the wands queen too
I guess I have a newer edition of the Aquarian deck because it's definitely laminated but not over laminated. I think it's perfect. I also have the New Palladini and the colors are stunning. The 2 decks are so different. The Aquarian is more specialized in terms of style and in a way a little more monotone in terms of the color palette if you know what I mean but fits the art deco style perfectly. The NP's colors are so much brighter and more vivid & I agree with you that both are a great and lasting contribution to the tarot world. As always I enjoy your videos and unique personal perspective.
I recently got the new edition of both the New Palladini and the Aquarian (tin and large size). I'm sorry I waited so long to get them, they are both BRILLIANT decks, and I use them often to the exclusion of many of my indie decks. I use the Aquarian more--there's just something so incredibly compelling about it. Thanks for doing this video! My deepest sympathies to Mr. Palladini's family.
Isn't it beautiful? It's so funny I waited so many years to get it -- when I think about how much I probably would have used it. I don't know what kept me from it, but I guess when the student is ready....
Hello Tom, thank you for this lovely tribute. Are you aware that there is another copy of the New Palladini Tarot with a different box? The Emperor card is on the cover.
Could the queernes of the Aquarian be because we are only seen faces? not even necks, ears or hands (except in the High Priestess and the 2 of swords and 3 of coins) and it seems like almost everyone who's hair is not covered has a shaggy bob, yes there are some mustaches but hormonal troubles are another thing and God knows what's hiding under all that clothing or maybe it's just all those mood-y velvety pinks?
That's a good point, I didn't notice that. For me it's something in the art and the clothes, but I think you're right....there's something sort of hidden about these folks that lends that air.
1970’s Soft Round edges, highly LSD-vision details with geometric designs and lunar orb shapes, soft and strong colors, a sentient sense to the card stock. Remember that within the images of these cards are living breathing Archetypes, Ancient Thoughts went into each and every detail, thousands of eyes have witnessed these images hundreds of thousands if not millions of hands have shuffled and laid them out in the Celtic Cross and the Unicursal Hexagram.
OMG I totally know what you mean about the Aquarian deck feeling queer!!! A lot of the characters all look gender-ambiguous to me :) which I love. The 3 of cups being 3 girls all enjoying each other’s presence and “friendship”?? GAY!!!!!
Davids work is beautiful, very representative of the Strong Alpha Male Sexuality Ethos of the late 1960’s early 70’’s when lots of men were freeing themselves of the prude singular straight hetero lifestyle so hammered upon them. The Deck is very masculine, strong jawline, dark full eyebrows, piercing lunar round eyes and absolutely comfortable in its omni-sexuality. I covet this Deck because it reminds me of my childhood in the late 60’s early 70’s, nudity, communes, building everything together, taking drugs all together, and making art together. The Deck is like a Photo album of my life..

Very nice of you to do this tribute. I'm sure David's family will appreciate it.
Thanks so much!!

My pleasure! Thanks for being there!
Thank you TB! Always make me smile with your videos.
Awwe! Yay!! Thank you!!
I know he just passed -- thanks for showing these decks. I may grab myself an Aquarian Tarot now.
Such rich, deep artwork. Thank you for showing these two decks.
Thank you for this tribute; also one of my first and fave decks, the Aquarian. much prefer to Palladini too. Love your responses to the cards......
Thank you!!
Never my favorite tarot but I always enjoy your videos

It's so beautiful. Yes. He was such a talent. That Aquarian is so beautiful.
“The Girl who cried flowers”
The long faces remind me of the Modigliani paintings.

@@thefoolsjournal Truth. :)
Can you describe the card stock for the New Palladini Tarot? Is it durable enough for frequent usage?
Hello Tom, thank you for this lovely tribute. Are you aware that there is another copy of the New Palladini Tarot with a different box? The Emperor card is on the cover.
That's the one I bought probably back in 2001! That's the one I gave away. I think the card stock was a little better.
@@thefoolsjournalDo the cards have the same rich and vibrant colors than the one you are showing in this video or are they more like pastel colors?
Still on the fence, I don't know why...just am.
It's OK! 🤣 No pressure!

The deck is very gay male.
As a gay male, I'm not sure I see that. But everything is in the eye of the beholder.

@@BushyHairedStranger #This I get a soft masculine energy from it and I'm also from that era. You said it all so eloquently.
