Great video. I just bought one. I was told they were discontinued so the prices online are rather high. Every review that I have seen people love it so I was surprised to learn they are discontinued. All stores are also sold out because the pandemic has people popping popcorn I guess. Cant wait for the delivery of mine.
Thank you. Mine arrived yesterday. I don't think I'll ever find time to read through the instructions before I feed my addiction with a hefty bowl.
Cheers.
Just ordered one. Cannot wait! Appreciate your video tutorial.
Just bought one of these popcorn makers from a thrift store for five bucks can't wait to use it👍👍
Lol me too. Going to use it for a party tonight. Got it straight from a thrift store for only $6 bucks
@@Achocolatebeauty Damn Lucky, is it the same one in the Video?
@@ttc_flaw7964 no not the exact same one it doesn't have the on/off button to cut it on, it just has the power cord.. and it worked really good for the party! I was super excited to use it. My friends were surprised but overall it worked really well.
I bought one and I forgot how to use it. This is helpful 😅
i have one of these. What do you use to clean it? i was using damp cloth but the black stuff is peeling
I have a West Bend stir crazy corn popper but it’s different your power on and off button is the rectangle or shape but mines a circle
Hey, how is yours holding up? I bought mine two or three years ago so quality control may have been different at the time same model though and mine the first week I got it the Teflon coating started to scratch off. At the time there were a bunch of negative reviews for the product for this exact issue so it may have been addressed by West Bend
this is the lopintos!!! good video (:
Thank you for the video.
How do you clean it
did you say 1 full cup kernels can fit ?
Have you compared the model 82505 vs the 82707? Which is better and why? West Bend information is confusing to say the least!
Wondering the same thing myself?
How do you clean the West Bend popcorn popper
I believe you wipe it down with a dry paper towel removing any leftover oil residue. Kinda like a cast iron skillet where you dont wash it with soap and water afterwards. Let alittle bit of flavor build up...
Can I use the Orville Redinbacher oil instead of a solid
Yes Donna, you can. Enjoy your popcorn 🍿!
Can you use the prepackaged corn and oil/butter 5.5oz pkgs in this machine?
You could try 🤷♂️
My popcorn is a little spongy and not crisp due to the moisture build up from the popping. Are there any suggestions to make the popcorn more dry and crisp?
Keep the butter lid off
Keep the darn black cap off while popping!
I found a better solution. I bought a silicon bowl popcorn popper for microwave popping and this device works great!!! I get crisp popcorn every time. I use very little oil, one tablespoon for taste and you can pop without any oil! I bought this kitchen device for $12 and it takes up almost no storage space. I highly recommend it.
i HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM SO I GOT ONE OF THE LITTLE THEATRE STYLE WITH STAINLESS STEEL POPPING KETTLE, WORKS WAY BETTER!
Thanks for sharing will give it all a try
Why dirty another dish with the butter? Put it right on top and drips through the holes onto the popcorn as it heats up. That's one of the best features of the stir crazy.
We normally do, but much like watching a cooking show, you have your ingredients ready and separated out before you hit record 😉
i want to get this but ive seen reviews that it gives the popcorn a plastic taste? have yall had any issues with that?
We personally have never found that to be the case
great vidro
How do you clean the base? …There’s a gap around the perimeter where all the gunk falls in
Find small tools like wooden toothpicks if you need to clean out any grooves.
Have had mine for several months now. It gets kernels stuck under the stir wires and makes it jump it popped the retainer a couple of times. I have never put any more than two tbsp. of popcorn in it. What am I doing wrong ?
Read the instructions
I have one. Used it but notice the popcorn comes out chewy, and not crisp. I’ve heard that chewy popcorn is a result of too much air in the popper while corn is popping. Do you have a solution for this???
We haven't had that problem but I would suggest reducing your oil a little and see if that helps.
I can't make up my mind.... But looking good guys... yum.
👍
How many minutes does it take to pop that much popcorn?
How attach stirrer when it comes off?
I don't think we have taken it off, just clean all around it
How do you clean it?
Yea it’s so easy to pop but no video how to clean. 😛
Will it pop well without oil?
not as well, but it could.
Is this PTFE and pfoa free
Not sure, I would verify with the company.
I had a Stir Crazy till it broke. I bought another brand nostalgia. Nostalgia the kernel can end up in the heating element and burn. Stir crazy is a lot better
👍
Popcorn is very good popped in bacon grease. We tried it once and never went back to anything else.
Haven’t tried that, but appreciate the suggestion!
wow i never thought ... thanks for the tip we will try it. we just got a stir crazy that appears to be brand new at a goodwill for 5 bucks . we went there looking for popcorn acessorys (.5 tsp measuring spoon for flavicol and a jar as the flavicol carton leaks) , but i want looking for a popper . what a score ! now if you like movie theater popcorn i would twist your arm to FLAVACOL and use coconut oil . its the best i tried yet. thanks for the video !
I am forwarding your comment to your cardiologist.
Bacon grease is very bad for your health to make popcorn. You need vegetable oil or corn oil to make your popcorn. Another option is go get Pop Secret microwave popcorn or that Amish microwave popcorn and use it.
0:53. WTF is "buttery popcorn topping"? Pretty suspicious language there! It's entirely possible it contains only seed oil and diacetyl and no butter whatsoever.
Don't buy! If something goes wrong, like you lose a small piece, they don't stand behind it. You'll have to buy another.
👍
Why should they replace summoning if you lose a part? You lose wondering you need to post for a new one, you can’t just expect a company to replace someone because YOU lost it.
@@12369ja I didn't say they should replace it for free but to not even have spare parts available is a huge customer service failure. How would you like it if you had to junk your car the first time a part failed, because they don't stock spares?
Nastiest popcorn ever tasted...
👍
