Matt is AWESOME when we went to WTT 2007. We were looking at one of the mtorcycles Matt came up and asked us if we would like to hear it run of course we said yes and had the pleasure of having him take us through the museum starting motorcycles and telling us the stories of each one it was awesome

That's what's charming about old bikes and old cars, they are not as reliable or confortable or safe as modern vehicules but they are so straightforward that they don't break that often and when they do it's easy to fix unlike stuff today and you have that raw mechanical feeling you don't get nowdays

that hasnt been sitting 40 years. I bought a car that had been sitting 40 years and the brakes were siezed on, the oil was like treacle and the water was like minestrone (know thats not a factor for a air cooled bike).

I've got an old friend that started on HD's. He's built and laced hundreds of wheels., and has never had a dealer touch any bike. Wasn't any bike that he couldn't get running. Mechanically working was all he wanted. His candle is at it's end now. The stories he can tell. 👍👍🏍🏍🏍🙋‍♂️

Always happy to hear you talk up originality with so many folks "restoring" anything and everything they can get their hands on....And that originality is what makes the Museum so special. The bikes (and all the memorabilia and apparel) bring the owners back and into the room with you to share the motorcycle spirit and passion...riding up this weekend for a visit and tickets....

Take care my friend. Keep doing what you do.

It is good to see that Matt has the same passion for motorcycles that his dad did. I Met Dale when I first visited the Wheel's Through Time Museum back in 2007 when I was up from Florida on a week long road trip in the Smokies. While on the tour I told Dale that my dad was a lifelong motorcycle enthusiast and, while in the Army during WW2, taught motorcycle riding skills to new Army recruits. Upon hearing this Dale immediately took me over to an old WLA on display, started it up and let me sit on it. He even offered to let me ride it but I declined. It was the first time I had ever been to the museum, and I was so impressed with the experience and Dale's generosity I called my dad that night and told him about it and said that I would show him the pictures when I got back home. The next day I got a phone call from my nephew that he passed away that night. I had to cut my vacation short and return home but that trip to the museum led to my having had a great conversation with my father just before he passed. I never got to thank Dale, but I am planning on going back up to the Smokies and visiting the museum later this year. If Matt is there I want to thank him personally for the experience his father enabled me to have with mine! BTW, my dad liked Indians because he said they were faster...
