One thing about your channel? You'll both be fit for years to come, that's for sure. Sharon needs to be working on a large book of photos! Sure it would be a best seller...Frank always has a curious , fact filled good attitude. Thanks for the entertainment.
In the early 1960s my grandfather would take me to Death Valley, Imperial Valley, down into Mexico, and over to Arizona and we would search for and explore abandoned mines and mining ghost towns. Back then none were boarded up, and the ghost towns were still intact and hadn't been vandalized and "tagged" yet. And back then you could ride whatever you wanted to in the desert. He didn't have a side-by-since (they weren't invented yet) but he had a Tote Gote type motorcycle, with about 8 inch wide tires and 8 horse power Briggs & Stratton motor. I don't remember going into any talc mines though. Only gold and silver mines.
Them tote goats were made in Kansas. They are collectors items nowadays. There's even a club. They were geared LOW. The Kansas farmer invented them so as to have a vehicle to haul his deer out of the fields.
I don't think Canadians celebrate 4th of July. Most Americans now days don't have a clue what we're celebrating on that day. They just think it's day off work to drink beer. Canadians might celebrate August 24th though. That's the day they marched into Washington DC in 1814 with British troops and burned the White House to the ground. Which is another bit of history most Americans have no clue about since it's not taught in American schools.
@@oxygen454: We deserved it for what we did. We went into Canada and burned some of their grain silos. That's yet another thing most Americans have ever heard about. I'm a history buff and not afraid to read books. Most the younger generation in this country wear their ignorance as a badge of honor, and their motto is "I don't read".
Super collection of photos. It's super bright in those mines, I'm glad you found it was a little cooler in there than outside. The blue sky looked beautiful, but the hiking around must have been thirsty work indeed. Nice to see some of the remaining machinery and structures that have survived. A very puzzling puzzle!! Thank you Frank & Sharon ❤️❤️❤️❤️ be safe 👷🏻♂️⛏👷🏻♀️⛏
Hello Frank hello Sharon This mines are interesting alot of work done much stuff and ore left and than close Down. What a shame . But in Germany it was the same Take care have a good Weekend and a happy New week Yours Frank Galetzka
Like the extra lighting , the talk mine provided , you can see everything, without having to change the lights to brighter/softer settings ! Very cool , thanks for all the hiking effort you two ! 👌😎☠️
Liking the exploration. My wife and I go camp and explore out there in the winter months, it’s only about a four hour drive from our house. You can drive the side by sides they just don’t want people to drive off marked roads or trails
Hi Frank & Sharon, those talc mines are so cool to see, I have a lot of respect for the miners that used to mine the talc as they are very prone to collapse. I think you have been getting the wrong impression with those keep out signs as they really mean "Come in and keep out of the sun" 😂 A real shame that puzzle had some pieces missing as it would have been interesting to see what it read. Thank you for sharing, much love. xx 💖
Frank and Sharon happy Canada Day.🎆🎇, Thanks for sharing the amazing Death Valley Mines. Wonder if Jeff was keeping the Death Valley Mines to himself? 😃 Bit you guy's are enjoying the Canadian cool weather. Love you channel stay safe have fun working on the Yankee Boy. Cheers 🍺🍺🧔
There's a ultra marathon that takes place in the middle of summer in Death Valley. It's called The Bad Waters Ultra Marathon. Distance is 135 miles or 217 kilometers.
I’m pretty sure the one with the bunker that dump trucks could pull under is the “Warm Springs” mine. My dad and his co-workers hauled thousands of loads out of those mines. I haven’t been out there since ‘81 or ‘82, but I remember many of them quite well.
Watched alot of your guys videos this weekend. Now it's back to reality of my job and never having enough time off to get to go explore. Working for a major railroad in the desert allows me the time to identify future sites for possible exploration one day. Transitioning from being a field archaeologist to a railroad maintenance worker was a challenge based upon financial reality. Archaeology is now just a hobbie.
The reason side by sides are banished is to keep dune buggies out. There is a herd of wild burros and dune buggies and fighter jets scare the burros so buggies and jets are banished.
The fighter jets fly there all the time. The government could care less about the donkeys they are rounding them up and getting rid of them. They say they aren't native to the area and want them gone.
@@exploringabandonedmines Tat may be true now but in the past when all the regulations were first established under pressure from the Sierra Club, the burros were protected and no Dune Buggies or low flying was allowed.
Ah Frank said I'll climb and get lost any day. I know yr mine u bought is gonna be much the labor, but i know you rather be getting into some Shiet instead. 🤘💙 Love ya guys, stay safe.
No off road isn't ridiculous. The ruts will last a century or more. You can still see stagecoach tracks. Douche canoes could ruin the place in a weekend truck event for a dozen generations. Every mile has a different species of plant that grows only on one or two hillsides. I'd like them to continue existing in that unique environment.
@@exploringabandonedmines It's not you causing problems, Frank... but gov't doesn't know you from Adam, so the yahoos that do whatever they want ruin things for everybody.
would be nice to explore some Pennsylvania mines where i am from since I have little knowledge about them only gold silver and copper mines. And to be able to to take any mine carts that are still there rusting away with no hope of running ever again
Looks like you found atleast part of a very old geocache at the end of the video, based on the dates. A long time california cacher could probably tell you more.
I saw a white suv in Virginia with your logo on the back window. I wanted to catch up to see if it was y’all but I took a different highway as I got closer. If it wasn’t y’all then I’ll never know.
@@exploringabandonedmines Well, then you learned something.... It's all good, i haven't missed an episode yet, and a tec issue wont send me packing 😁 Keep up the good work.
My computer's sound runs through a guitar amp, so only one side of the audio works, and on this video that means I have no sound because for some reason it's only playing out of one side: the one I don't have.
@@exploringabandonedmines I roughly synced up my phone/bluetooth speaker with my main computer and watched it that way. Good video btw, that place was amazingly intact for a talc mine. I think the basic solution would have been to set the audio track to mono during the editing process, though I don't know what program you're using or if it could do that, but that would be the move.
You're a great explorer of abandoned, old mines but your consistance with your camera is all over the place; makes it hard to follow you. Well, atleast we got the "main idea". Thanks for sharing.
I still say that you have the best intro of all of the exploration channels 👌
