- Paul Andersen begins with a brief description of NASA discoveries related to Mars, Mercury and water. He then explains why water is required for life. He finally uses a simulation to show you why water acts as a wonderful solvent and provides a medium for metabolism.

'Jim Green' third brother of John and Hank Green?
Excellent video, very clear explanation! Thanks a lot.
I've known for over 20 years it has to be water because of it being a good solvent and its behavior with temperature change, and have an idea about atoms and their bonds, but this is an excellent presentation. You are the boss.
very helpful!!! thanks!
THANK YOU! This is super helpful
Thank You So MUCH
Excellent simulation.
this is really really helpful, thanks alot
Really great video and awesome simulation you found.
It's amazing how much we've advanced in the last 8 years
I create the presentation in Keynote first. I try to leave a blank space in each of the slides for my "talking head". I then record the presentation using Screenflow. I have put together a video of my method that can help out. If you Google "Educational Screencast" it should pop up.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you!! :D
Great!
Nice dude
Well explanation thumbs up
Thank you :)
your note is awesome. I enjoyed it. but for this part why don't u mention about cohesion behavior of water?
very talented person, all rounded, knowledgeable, should be acknowledged
Great job teaching us how to wash dishes
Thanks.
@bosman biology
Thank you, I enjoyed this viedo
this video is great
thanks
The reason water is important for life is that the hydrogen bonded network, (and probably Preparata quantum coherence domains too), carry information about local biomolecular structures, which is then communicated photonically to distal water and other molecules using ultraviolet and near-infrared bands (around 300nm and 1400nm wavelengths). This is an unknown information conduit which explains the information efficiency of living biochemical systems, and shows how life could have evolved out of water, by incorporation of proto-biomolecules into existing water photonics. This model renders the thermodynamic chemistry model of living processes, and the RNA world model of life's origin, obsolete.
Spot on
It all makes sense...
It was somewhat misleading there when you said that water was "delivered by meteorites, just like on Earth". It made it sound like all the water on Earth cave from meteorites.
agreed
it's 12:30 in the morning. I've worked a 12 hour shift I have an exam for my paramedic class. I'm running of 3 hours of sleep last night or the night before (seriously losing track) This one was just too long.
still good stuff nut you didn't have an announcer saying *imagine the voice of the tractor pull guy"....SUNDAY SUNDAY SUNDAY!!! the Earth is bipolar!!!

Miss Nelson ap bio!
Only one problem, so far as i know of, you said if there was liquid water there was probably life, i dont know if you corrected yourself after saying or there could of been or if that was an also thing, but just focusing on the probably part there are over 200 parameters for a planet to sustain life.
Greetings from Russia. Nice video. I'm curious if it's funded project or not?
P.S. You personaly remind me one of nowdays popular Russian comedy-upstander. His name is Гарик Харламов. You could google that. He is really funny.
what was he demonstrating?
Very helpful but still leaves me wondering if another polar liquid could be used to create life.
Sup Mr.Rapcyzk class period 6
What's up Mr. Rapcyzk Period 3 Class
this will be my report on monday..i hope i can explain and deliver it properly to my classmates 😑😑
goated
Idk why, but something about this guy reminds me of neil cicierega.
Now look for a place in this entire universe where water exists in all three states, solid, liquid, and gas. But moooost importantly, liquid. Good luck on the search.
+1
water is pretty nice thanks water
Yo this nigga look like John Green & Hank Green combined
ya you the best teacher ever I learn so much from you "it's a vary soggy place " ha you hilarious man huuu....... 👌😀👎

is it me or this man super hot!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi
