Adesanya’s success in the UFC happened so quick. He became champion, defended his belt multiple times and made the UFC and himself a lot of money. @@kjguidry839 not being a hater, i said his rest is well deserved as he has been an active champ.
But the thing is izzy is an sniper, who counters, that's how he got Whittaker in the first, costa, and other finishes. But when opponents don't give him an opening there is not much he does hence the "boring fights" (v jared, yoel etc) as he never takes risks.
Strickland is an awesome fighter defensively (boxing), but in this fight he even fixed his leg kick defense, completely shutting down izzy. It wasn't an off night for izzy, he was just outclassed by Strickland for 5 rounds.
Strickland didn't bite to any of his feints/conditioning there were no over extension, constantly stood in front of izzy.
If that fight happens again I don't see it going any other way.

The 2027 thing was a joke. He was waiting to go in to the Ngannou/Fury fight when he was being pestered by the media about his next fight.
I do think Izzy is planning to take a fair bit of time off though. He says his issue with Sean was mental and he didn't have an answer for it, which probably means that he won't fight again until he finds an answer for it. I just don't think that'll take him >3 years. But I wouldn't be surprised if we don't see him fight again until mid-way through 2024 or maybe not until 2025.

If the UFC would stop trying to fixate on the fighters that sell the most PPVs and merchandise, and actually hold unbiased events, with impartial judging, and no politics or BS involved with the outcome of a decision victory, then we'd be on the right track. I understand the need of the business to assess its assets and determine who makes the most money, and its only logical to then try and get that person "over" with the fanbase. The main issue with this idea, simply, is that we're talking about a fighting organization not the WWE, and so you can't just keep the most popular guys on top forever for the sake of making more money. This is supposed to be actual fights being held, albeit with rules and a referee and safety precautions, so it's not really a real fight anymore, but you get the idea. We're not hosting sporting events for entertainment, we're hosting combat events which are also meant to entertain, but they're supposed to be "real" fights, not a scripted exchange between two paid performers. Let Izzy go do his thing for a while, and if he decides to come back, then you make a big deal about it. You just sound stupid going on about a guy who lost a belt twice in one year and wants to take some time to himself. Tell me about Sean Strickland. Talk about his next fight. Tell me about Leon Edwards, what's his next move? Stop talking about the UFC's pet fighters and start talking about the people who are holding the belts instead.

Sean’s rhetoric destroyed Izzy’s confidence. Sean questioned Izzy’s Nationality, Race, Honor, and insulted Izzy’s relationship with his dog. Sad. I thought Izzy was mentally stronger but he’s not. Izzy talked about being bullied in school because he looked different. Sad

Adesanya's personality happened to Adesanya. Pereira and Strickland happened to Adesanya. He's been exposed as a weirdo, got a DUI, got beaten bell to bell by Strickland after guaranteeing the UFC a win. I mean there's all kinds of things, and they caught up with him... He may be tired, but we're starting to get far more tired of him. He's not honorable or interesting.

What an eloquent dissertation on the state of Izzy. For the record I am not a fan, but I respect the hell out him as a role model for champions (activity, entertainment and business). He’s getting a lot negative takes on social media for petty things (a precursor to a Brendan Schaub type of thing). Everyone is subject to it, but Izzy does not deserve that. Thanks for standing up for him Uncle! 👍

Reality kicked in when he was influenced, while drinking, that match between Whitaker and Dricus.
Man!, he cannot unseen how Whitakers ears clapped hands, when that blow landed him straight between the eyes. That punch made him upset. That power, that headlock, that grapple.
That was not the main reason. Here was a man, who came from nowhere fast, and Adesanye recognised that, because he saw himself; only on steroids.
Then Dricus turned around and Adesanye was exposed. He lost his fans begging Dricus, but he was not convincing and then Dricus popped a fake injury. Dricus decide who he will fight, because he look at latest fight display.
