I gotta say, I've always liked your Transformers figure review videos over anyone else's. Mostly because you use this magical thing called editing and you fill the air with constant relevant commentary.
Jetfire was (Still is due to shelfwarming) $80 (To $90) AU and the only 2013-2014 Generation toy available at all for us. The hollow parts look cheap, and I'm not a fan of the chrome... But he still looks like a damn fine neo-G1 Skyfire blended with the IDW Stormbringer design... Which I dig heavily. Kinda wish he had wrist swivels and ankle tilts... especially for what I had to pay for him. But, the jet mode makes up for it.
I bought this one at Rand Rapids, MI comic-con. This video confirmed (the chrome) was the official release. The vendor was selling knock-offs of Starscream (nowhere on its package did it say "Takara-Tonka" or Hasbro). Thanks for your video, glad I got the real Jetfire!
I super regret overlooking this figure when I saw it on a Walmart shelf long ago. I'll have to keep my eyes pealed for him next weekend at the Victoria Toy and Hobby Fair.
Thank you for not being too hard on the chrome, as I personally really like it, and wish people wouldn't be so hard on it. (i get people can have preferences to look, but people bash it all the time and it makes me sad)
Been wondering, when you would review Generations Thrilling 30 Leader Class Jetfire. And I'm looking forward to see possible coming Generations Combiner Wars Leader Class Thundercraker.
There has been something missing from recent "leader class" toys. If this guy were voyager, I wouldn't bat an eye. I wonder if THIS is the real reason for that upscaling experiment they pushed. Design a large voyager, make it bigger, call it leader.
Darn....I guess he doesn't have a faux-gerwalkguardian mode. (just in case you may not know......... "Gerwalk/Guardian" was that halfway-transformed form between robot and jet mode)
I paid £30 for mine and I've gotta say I'm glad it wasn't more cos my copy is the worst piece of QC I've seen in ages. Loose joints juxtaposed with stupidly tight ones, the blue visor piece actually fell out of the mask as soon as I touched it and where the posts on the weapons have had their chrome stripped off so they can slot in without flaking it are each at different levels of non-chromeyness so no two weapons slot in as far and flush as each other. And that's before one of the hip universal joint assemblies was the wrong way round in the box making one leg effectively shorter than the other due to the slight incline the forward and back connection sits at. I corrected it with some difficult joint wangling and now it might as well not be ratcheted, there's so much play in the joint. Wish I'd just got Thundercracker instead. He might have denser plastic too.
You only paid $30 CAD? I paid $40 CAD at my local TRU about six months back. Seeing Leader CW Thundercracker for sale at $48 CAD right now & payday's tomorrow! GUESS WHERE I'M HEADING?
I enjoy this figure, but wholeheartedly agree that it is NOT worth the Leader price point. I picked this guy up for a little over $30 USD through a combination of employee discounts and price matching at my old work, and he's been a welcome addition to my autobot shelf (along side the other like...8 bots I own...cons are heavily outnumbering them at a 3:1 ratio).
I paid the 60 bucks....totally regretted it. Hollow plastic (60 bucks and HOLLOW PLASTIC!) and the chrome was coming off on mine (I don't like the chrome either but I could have lived with it). Never mind at that price point they couldn't put a wrist swivel in?!!?!?!?! Collectable my ass. I literally threw it back in the box in disgust. The only bright point to the bloody thing is that I gave it to my nephew for Christmas....I really enjoyed watching a 4 year tear into it.....and to think I was going to give him a chunky monkey Bandai VF-1....lol. He can enjoy and destroy this piece of garbage and maybe next year I will give him a VF-1. ;)
The Bellbottom effect is measured in "Travoltas". Jetfire here measures 1.2 Travoltas, whereas Animated Bumblebee clocks in at 7.6 Travoltas.
"I'm stripping Jetfire down..."
A WIZARD!
Drinking game: take a shot every time Vangelus says "Macross".

didjargo that's what Jobby# swivel does
Some pretty slick edits there man. Look forward to seeing how seamless you can make them. Great video as always: respect the skills man. Skills.
2:50 "A WIZARD!!"
2:40 ... Poor Waspinator... Don't worry, I still love you.

5 years a some change late, but his jet mode is the proposed Navel variant of the F-22, the same jet that G2 Jetfire transformed into.
2:50 Neat. How long did that take to get right?
+Awpwn One take!
+Vangelus oh my god I had a chance to by him 6 months ago and I never tuck it damn it!!!!!!!!!!!!
Vangelus Splendid!
Awpwn ):(
Vicky Miron The "Splendid!" comment was directed towards Vangelus' response to my comment, not your's.
I cracked up each time you made the jet fly out of the shot LOL 😂😂
Today vangelus is reviewing me! XD
Lol

I want it but at 40 when I still adore the Voyager toy I painstakingly panel inked I passed.

"Hits the Skirt Hip Chunk." First Cybertronian World Problems.
Jetfire will look great in my collection.
Your an editing wizard, chris.
The chest insignia is a Marvel G1 Comics reference.
+Vangelus 8:56 how were you able to mount Jetfire on a flight stand? As I can't find a flight stand port.
2:34 ...... LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!
Jet mode is based on the Navy's proposed F-22, like the G2 Cyberjet was.
I just realized that jetfires altmode is an F-14 Tomcat
5:35 I know of a few chocolate factory incidents where this coulda come in handy.
Thanks....now I want this.
This is a good substitute for the original 80s Jetfire...
But is a (probably undocumented) Gerwalk possible utilizing the legacy spinal nosecone?
I love this toy

Oh boy have I done my waiting. Sure I may have forgotten he existed but when I saw amazon had him for $19 I just couldnt say no
Wait, Links to the Harmony gold case? the only links I can find are from 2013

What do you have planned for your 300th review, Vangelus-san? :D
Vangelus Please Could you do a review of Legends Jetfire.
I enjoy this figure, but wholeheartedly agree that it is NOT worth the Leader price point.

He actually is worth the 40$ price
Yeah, I'm glad I found one in Walmart for $30, too.
it's not just you. Leader class figures are Ultra class minus electronic lights and sounds
My one's head joint is so bad he can only look down
I give this 10 out of 10
Ooh... want.

Too bad this didn't stay on the shelves here in the U.S. long.
vote jetfire for canada's new country mascot
I'd rather get the Takara version, cuz that one doesn't have chrome. Why I haven't made time or the money to get that one, I have no idea. 😢😦😧😩😳
How ironic. Now hasbro does the chrome and takara doesn't
where do you put this things. You have to be running out of space
Its called storage
Well when i did the 5 gun thing i was like "jesus fuck!! Now i can kill kevin" then i killed kevin, not with 5 gun thing, it was a uzi
ah painted his battle mask eye lens red looks soooo great but takara verion is better
Ugh. The fake cockpit chest really bugs me. Fake alt-mode kibble just ain't right.
+Gareth Scott Skyfire actually has another window under there in the cartoon.
tfwiki.net/wiki/File:Skyfire_Gerwalk.jpg
Well-played, animators. Well-played.
(Still not gonna drop £50 for him)
Mmmmmmm Cheesy fingerprint magnets......
Uh, chromed!!!! ILM rule to making props or models look good...Never make it shinny!!!!
the hate on chrome is real... i love chrome
C mon no pivot and waist and wrist I'm only asking for the bare minimum this is average posibility for deluxe at best
r0b0t3ch
This review seems a bit late. lol
My one's head joint is so bad he can only look down
