When peppino was piledriving pizzaface into the tower so hard that tears were streaming from his eyes, I felt more excited than i've felt from a video game in years. This game could not have a better ending.
I wasn't expecting to root for pizza man with funny name so much, but here I am, getting emotional over Peppino finally getting his vengence and saving his business.
I believe Pizzaface was that face of a whole pizza that tried to kill you whenever time ran out, and it was *Pizzahead* that had it's face decked into the tower.

I find it both amazing and hilarious how the dramatic background with the rain and lightning and actual solar eclipse (i guess, since lunar eclipses don't look like that) only appears AFTER Peppino goes completely ballistic, it feels like he managed to trigger both a mighty thunderstorm AND a literal eclipse just as a byproduct of being so all-consumingly livid and utterly done with Pizzahead's shit.
Peppino follows the same train of logic as the ball from Lethal League; the more energy and speed he accumulates, the more the world around him gets fucked up and distorted
a small detail i thought was cool is that when Pizzahead pulls up the fork guys in phase 2, he's actually trying to pull out the sword from Pizzascape. it's got some sort of Excalibur thing going on, and Pizzahead isn't worthy (because he's an evil bastard), so he just pulls up the ENTIRETY of Pizzascape with it. this also implies that Peppino is worthy or that he is the "true king". true king of the local pizza market, i guess

He knows how much shit Peppino has been through, so to help Peppino in letting out more of his rage out of his system, he let him grab him and knock him into the bosses to stun them for a MUDAMUDAMUDA combo.
I love how through the game Peppino is shown to be scared of the bosses until the final fight were he's visibly holding back his rage, only for it to boil over when Pizza-Face brings all the other bosses back. As the old saying goes "Don't mess with a man who handles sharp objects for a living".
Take note how Pizza Head, a normally COMPLETELY irreverent and unflappable character, was startled and terrified by Peppino's scream of UNYIELDING RAGE.
fucking love this bossfight. when you see the bosses that youve already beaten appear again for the first time youre like "for fucks sake not again" but its just such an unexpected feeling when peppino ALSO gets mad because hes thinking the exact same thing. its amazing

I love everything about this. The game doesn’t just bring back the bosses and make you fight them in a gauntlet, it puts you into a blind rage so you actually have a leg up. And once you do finally beat them for the last time, you get a pathetic fight from Pizzahead himself before erasing him from the face of the planet in the most epic cutscene I think I’ve ever seen. God this game is incredible.
yknow, most boss rushes in games tend to be tests of endurance, and to show how many skills you've acquired across the game. but what i like about what it does here is how its basically just done to show emotion; the fact that the ONLY thing thats even changed about peppino is his state of pure, vengeful wrath is what makes this scene work so well. its one of the most visceral scenes in one of the most visceral games ever made.

I think what not many people take in to account is how literally NONE of this phased pizza head. Even with his head pile driven into the tower hes jus "well, whats next? Was that it?" And even in the post credit scenes hes seen sneaking out of the party unscathed from the fight or crumbling of the tower
God, the boss rush phase really is just a "I'm not trapped up here with you all. 𝙔𝙤𝙪'𝙧𝙚 𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙥𝙥𝙚𝙙 𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙈𝙀, 𝙢𝙤𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙛𝙪𝙘𝙠𝙚𝙧𝙨." moment, and it's soooooo cathartic.
I like how in the first part of the fight peppino's idle animation isn't anxious like before, he's just tired of the crap he's been through. when the boss rush comes he has a different idle animation where he looks like he's lost it.
One of my favorite parts of this is the final part of the song during the final pizzaface fight. The song feels like its constantly building up and up yet still feels awesome and is timed in such a way that the final cutscene always seems to be matching up with the song, the mix of the epic song, buildup, and sound effects make it feel like this is the culmination of everything you've done so far.
I'm going to be COMPLETELY honest here. I have over 30+ games on Steam, and THIS BOSSFIGHT IS BY FAR THE MOST INSANE ONE. The soundtrack, the whole plot, the ending, IT'S SO GOOD

This was so hard but the adrenaline rush of SOMEHOW doing the boss rush first try and accidentally going ultra instinct to parry pizzahead's fists by accident (and beating it) was worth lmao
The section after Pizzaface's first two health bars is just, perfect. By rules, dude lost there, just like all the other. But instead he's a jackass and throws all the other bosses at Peppino, which unleashes all the fucking rage he stored getting there. He was done with this shit and he wanted to prove his point. I love it. Also it clearly shows how Peppino is from Naples 💪
A little detail I don't see anyone talk about ever is Peppino's idle and walking animations in each phase. In Phase 1, he uses his "low combo" idle and walking animations, since he's mad and about ready to end this. And then Phase 2 happens, an absolute fever dream, and Peppino switches to his standard "afraid" animations, since it's hard to tell what the hell is even going on anymore. Finally, he loses his mind in Phase 3, and is now in his "high combo" idle and walking animations, as he's too absolutely PISSED to even stand still. It's a little detail that I think really emphasizes Peppino's emotions in this final fight and makes him just that tiny bit more expressive.

The sheer rage in those wallops, taking chunks of health out of the bosses every time... You can tell Peppino is done being nice, all he really wanted to do was keeping his pizzeria safe, and after going on this lengthy crusade, and having this corporate pizza slice throwing the same goons he's already beaten at him again, enough is just enough, man. Here, it ends.

Dunno why. - The Noise doesn't like pizza, so he eats candy. - Always knew that Pizza Boy and Pizzaface were the same being, and simply thought it was a transformation. But no. Pizzahead pilots Pizzaface like a mech. - Sugary Spire is a cool game. You should try it out. - No one knows why Peppino was arrested. - Gustavo is completely lost! - The ball transformation is _For the Laughs,_ because Pizza Tower is based off of Wario Land! Pizza Face and Pizza Head are separate entities. Yes Pizza Face is a mech, but he is autonomous (Pizza Head was merely taking a shit, not controlling it)
A little insider tip: once you manage to reach Pizzahead in the 3rd phase, when he does his fly swatter attack, do the uppercut to avoid it. That can jump higher than a normal jump of course

That would be absolutely neat.
Also replaces the combo names with the BFBB combo names, where it just adds more prefixes to "combo" (Super-mega-ultra-deluxe combo)

The final phase of this fight is just perfect. Pizzahead being the jackass he is pulls out all the previous bosses only to have Peppino lose his shit over all the bull he's been through while fucking annihilating everything.

I just realized I never thanked you for these videos. I P ranked the whole game back at the beginning of February, and while much of it was me on my own figuring things out, your videos were what I turned to whenever I got stuck, and they helped me a lot.

This was so hard but the adrenaline rush of SOMEHOW doing the boss rush first try and accidentally going ultra instinct to parry pizzahead's fists by accident (and beating it) was worth lmao
The section after Pizzaface's first two health bars is just, perfect. By rules, dude lost there, just like all the other. But instead he's a jackass and throws all the other bosses at Peppino, which unleashes all the fucking rage he stored getting there. He was done with this shit and he wanted to prove his point. I love it.
Also it clearly shows how Peppino is from Naples 💪

A little detail I don't see anyone talk about ever is Peppino's idle and walking animations in each phase.
In Phase 1, he uses his "low combo" idle and walking animations, since he's mad and about ready to end this.
And then Phase 2 happens, an absolute fever dream, and Peppino switches to his standard "afraid" animations, since it's hard to tell what the hell is even going on anymore.
Finally, he loses his mind in Phase 3, and is now in his "high combo" idle and walking animations, as he's too absolutely PISSED to even stand still.
It's a little detail that I think really emphasizes Peppino's emotions in this final fight and makes him just that tiny bit more expressive.

This is literally the simplest game I've ever played, but I've never been so fired up to fight before, until peppino's howl of rage. 10/5 game 👍

The sheer rage in those wallops, taking chunks of health out of the bosses every time... You can tell Peppino is done being nice, all he really wanted to do was keeping his pizzeria safe, and after going on this lengthy crusade, and having this corporate pizza slice throwing the same goons he's already beaten at him again, enough is just enough, man. Here, it ends.
Peppino joins the ranks of angriest video game characters of all time, ranking up there with Asura, Kratos and Doomguy.
This is awesome! But I have some fun facts for you:
- I originally thought Gerome's name was "pillar joe". Dunno why.
- The Noise doesn't like pizza, so he eats candy.
- Always knew that Pizza Boy and Pizzaface were the same being, and simply thought it was a transformation. But no. Pizzahead pilots Pizzaface like a mech.
- Sugary Spire is a cool game. You should try it out.
- No one knows why Peppino was arrested.
- Gustavo is completely lost!
- The ball transformation is _For the Laughs,_ because Pizza Tower is based off of Wario Land! What did you expect?
