- Our first day of climbing in Kalymnos started off with warming up then sending DNA, one of the mega classic lines that goes through the Grande Grotta cave. Steep climbing on stalactites using knee bars and body wedging to rest. Polished and ends before you want it to but an incredible route and probably my favourite of all time :-)

Might steep 7a good job finding all the kneebars
Felt harder than 7a on the first go then you find all the knee bars and rests and it prob is 7a, originally graded 7b though so prob depends on your style :-) sick route!!! One of my all time favourites :-)
Wohoo, that's pretty steep..and long! :D I haven't done much of this kind of climbing, strength & bouldery moves are definitely my weakness..did you specifically train for this style before the trip? Keep the videos coming! :)
Such an incredible route mate, I have been training for this trip for a long time and specifically endurance and power endurance. the routes at Grande Grotta are all on my hit list up to 7c so watch this space :-)
How do I actually get the Quickdraws out of the wall again, because of the strong overhang?
Either second the route back through so your belayer belays as if you are on top rope, or if you get lowered you can clip yourself into the rope using a quick draw onto your belay loop and do it the struggle street way... though doing another lap of the route on top rope may also be a struggle 😂 good luck 🤙

Can you climb in shorts or not recommended ?
You definitely can, might want them knee pads for the rests or just climb it without and it’s a couple of grades harder :-)
@@ChrisHaileyTrainHardDiveEasy what about a helmet? Thought it was necessary.. don't those rocks or stalactites fall on your head? Haha
@@users1992 I mean, its always safest to wear a helmet but I never had any choss fall on me in 6 weeks of climbing in kalymnos so 🤷♂️ bad rope admin would not be great though so depends how your footwork is more than falling limestone 😂
Nice video with the different camera angles. I tried the route 4 or 5 times because I struggled with the clip at ua-cam.com/video/ZSVwDzz2Pwo/v-deo.htmlm59s In the end I skipped this clip and it worked for me.
Nice!!! If in doubt run it out 😂 I heard some holds have come off since I filmed this, might need an upgrade to 7a+ 🤔
