Hi, Kat and Mark! I 'm really glad that I've found this channel. The lessons are very well organized and everything I need to learn is explained in a clear and detailed way. I love the concept where I can learn both British and American English at the same time because I enjoy both cultures! I've already learned lots of things. Thank you so much!
I'm glad I'm the first one to make a comment. To be honest this is by far the best method to acquire English. What I usually do with the content like this is I keep listening to it more than 3 times (at least) then I analyze the vocabulary and most importantly the expressions used mainly by natives cuz I'm focusing on the speaking aspect of the language especially the American one, when finished I repeat listening again to the same episode a couple of times till I feel confident before jumping to other topics. Thank you very much for all the effort you've done you too so far ❤
Thank you for such a thoughtful comment! Your way of studying sounds great! That's exactly what I (Mark) do with my Spanish podcasts; I listen to a short-ish dialogue many many times until I can start to repeat full phrases and sentences on my own. We're really grateful for your dedication and attention to our content - we hope to make much more so you have lots of material to study with :)
I found you recently, but you're so marvellous. I have been watching your videos several times, and they are helpful and didactic, especially when you explained all about pronunciation. Thank you so much.
I feel great because I understand everything you are talking. The English from both of you is very clear. Thank you so much for these lessons. I really appreciate it.
Dear Mark, Thank you for the wonderful (British) lesson! Dear Kat, Thank you so much for the awesome (American) teaching techniques you use! Your lessons are very important to us, I have met a lot of teaches, among all of you are so outstanding and unique. That is why you are the best and your teaching methods are excellent! Please don’t stop the “music” 😅❤
Actually teaching English with Mark and Kat is like something very expensive and valuable so our teachers mark and Kat I really appreciated your efforts and time I'm alex from moraco
All your videos so far are great and I find this one really useful for anybody who is interested in practice the language taking advantage of learning both versions of English at the same time. A really good idea!!
I find the review format so useful! Especially when you speak in your natural way, things get quite harder because of the intense use of contractions, elisions, assimilations, etc. I still can grasp the gist of your speech, but not every single word, for sure! However, challenging our ears is the only method to improve our listening skill (hopefully! 🤞🙂). Thanks!
Thanks so much for your kind words! We're really glad you like the video format and found it useful! We're definitely trying to say these dialogues and quickly and authentically as we can - because that's what students face in the real world. It's okay if you don't understand every word, and you don't have to repeat it exactly like us, but the contractions and ellipsis are definitely useful things to know to help you listen to native speakers "in the wild" 🙂 We've got more of this style on the way very soon!
First thing first, thanks a million for your every single hard work, and I really appreciate about how the both of you guys prepared and created this kind of listening podcast videos for us to level up our English potential. Plus, I can't thank you enough...❤
Thank you very much for your free and so useful episodes!!! You are really helping me to improve my listening and speaking skills!! I really appreciate it!
I'm particularly enamored by your dynamic podcast episode because it encompasses all the crucial components of English such as pronunciation, daily expressions, idioms, and most notably interative dialogues that can incrementally help us sound natural when speaking with others. I guess that one the most fabulous sources for vocabulary expansion and enhancing conversational skills are podcasts especially this one because never have l seen a podcast that encapsulates both American and British English which is enchanting as it helps hone our comprehension. Apart from the fascinating dialogue l truly relish experiencing the richness of both accents, so my go-to way to elevate my English with podcasts is to record myself talking about the podcast episode l listened to earlier in my own words whilst also writing down the new phrases. ❤ Looking forward to new dynamic lessons.
Wow - thank you for such a thoughtful comment! It's fantastic to hear that you enjoy the format and it's a great idea to take notes like you have been doing. Thank you for being here with us!
Thanks a bunch Mam and Sir for your help so we can practice our hearing and listening skills to learn and figure out two different countries sharing your, little bit different accents...
Really appreciate your efforts in preparing the episodes which help us to know the difference between British and American English in a practical way. It is something innovative. Keep it up
Omg …i saw more than 7 lectures in deffirent way but this way its very nice to me and helpfull!when you break the dialoug into speaces and my pronciation improve and listning ..good jop!keep going!
Hey ,cat and mark you are amazing and and am so happy that come across your channel I was looking for For the long time some who like you or making more explanations so deaply separating everything And provide more and more vocabulary that about the real You both incredibly great 😅 am not sure if my writing is right or rong pls try to correct my sentence if see my bad English 😅 thanks a lot my teachers ❤
Hi, I'm so happy to find your channel, It's so helping me Im listening your podcasts every single day...😂 I have a question😢 I'm already understanding english well but I cant speak good and also have many pronunciation problems, How can I improve my self at this case? (Sorry for all mistakes in my comment😂) Thank you again ❤
Hi Faezeh! 😊 Thanks so much for your kind words! We’re so happy the podcasts are helping you. To improve your speaking and pronunciation, try this: Imitate Native Speakers: Listen closely to how native speakers talk, and try to mimic them. This is called shadowing. You can try it with our podcast episodes-listen and repeat what we say, copying our rhythm and pronunciation. Record Yourself: Record yourself speaking, then listen back to spot any areas for improvement. It’s a great way to track your progress too! Focus on Tricky Sounds: Practice the sounds that are difficult for you. This will make your speaking clearer over time. Don’t worry about mistakes-they’re part of the journey! Keep practicing, and you’ll get there. 😊 Thanks again for listening! ❤️
Great question! As a native speaker I (Mark) naturally tend to use: "I am finished." I think this is easier because I can use this shorter sentence without any object or extra details. For example: "At 5pm, I am finished." or "Alright, I am finished, let's go have lunch." or "Are you finished?" In contrast, when I use the verb: "I finished", my brain naturally wants to add more detail, like an object. What *exactly* did you finish? Compare these two: a.) "At 5pm, I am finished." vs b.) "At 5pm I finish [my work]." or a.) "As soon as I was finished, I left." vs b.) "As soon as I finished [my breakfast], I left." or a.) "Yes I'm finished. You can take my plate." vs b.) "Yes I finished [my food]. You can take my plate." So basically native speakers are lazy and want the shortest and easiest sentence possible 😅 The verb version actually sounds strange *without* an object. "I finished." Ok... you finished what? Your work? Your food? Your story? I need that extra detail to get a clear message. I hope that makes sense!
TBH I loved it better when she was teaching only IN her American accent because with a british accent its harder for us to understand specially if we are beginners just in my humble opinion theres a video where she was alone and it was so helpful

Do you have a vocabulary diary or an app for flashcards? If you forget words often, then you need to simply repeat and repeat and repeat and review and review and review. I struggle with this too and there is no shortcut! I have a study book full of sentences and I try to read them every day. After the 3rd or 4th time, it gets much easier to remember the words without reading them, and soon afterwards I feel confident saying them outloud!

As usual u two are great 🎉🎉🎉
Thank you so much!
Hi, thank for the lesson. What is different between “I was finished” and “I finished”? Why “I was finished” was used?
Thank :)
Great question!
As a native speaker I (Mark) naturally tend to use: "I am finished." I think this is easier because I can use this shorter sentence without any object or extra details.

"At 5pm, I am finished." or "Alright, I am finished, let's go have lunch." or "Are you finished?"

The verb version actually sounds strange *without* an object.
"I finished." Ok... you finished what? Your work? Your food? Your story? I need that extra detail to get a clear message.
I hope that makes sense!
I think the American expression for " I'm finished " is. "I'm done". Am I right?
❤❤❤❤❤❤thanks a lor ..very kind teaher!!

Hi. One thing. My English is not good. I heard many many words and forgot them. What should I do? Heeeeeeellllp😊
Thanks so much, but the speed on responding is too much for me
