You have to consider the wall, and top and bottom, which are printed at 100%, for small parts this contributes more to the density than for big models.
That could be done and it would work. Another idea I had is to hollow it out But put some holes or slits on the side And then just up the perimiters so that part is solid. I bet that would work too

I wonder if it would seal if you hollowed it out and added a threaded cap? Then add sand inside as needed. Would save on print time if it worked.
