UA-cam is wrong that it does not promote channels and videos like yours that are great and direct us to the worthless sites of the pseudo experts. I am so happy that your channel miraculously found me. Thank you for the education you provide to some lucky ones who are able to come accross of your channel.
Thank you. I am looking at Harbeth speakers and stumbled across this channel. I find it impossible to reliably demo speakers at a dealer, other than to exclude something completely unsuitable, because of variability in listening room and partnering equipment. The only reliable test is in my room with my equipment for an extended period but this requires an exceptional dealer. I’ve had my hearing (HRTF) response plotted and can research speaker data and reviews for potential purchases but a home audition really is essential despite decades of experience. Sadly my “exceptional dealer” doesn’t stock Harbeth but I am looking.
Yes! It’s so nice to watch videos like this one. I am a HUG member and I think UA-cam and tech talks is a very smart move to share knowledge and make visible the Harbeth brand to new customers
What a very interesting video ,it’s got me thinking. In the 70s or 80s when I first got into real hifi on school of thought was to listen to one speaker in the room at a time. Maybe this proves it. Looking forward to the next video.
It's true. I was very impressed by Sennheisser's IE80 earphone when I first upgraded from a cheaper model. And I though the sound was very dynamic and balanced compared with my previous earphones. Later I learned from online reviews that it's kind of boomy, and there is standard eq to balance it. But after I applied the standard eq, and switch it to the eqqed effect - god my first impression was that it became so harsh and too bright, even hard to bear when listening to my favorite songs: the hissing of the highs was too much for me!. After listening to the eqqed sound for a while, I felt better. But today I'm still not sure if I prefer the eqqed sound or the original sound - seems our ears tend to adapt to the new sound characteristics after a while, unless we do the AB test quickly. Even when I do apply an eq, I would choose to downgrade the intensity, a handy function provide by Wavelet app.
Обожаю английский звук, правильную середину. not many people, especially in US buy speakers off what they hear - it is all into trends designed by magazines. What source did they use in 60's - records, so what kind of studies could they actually do if the source was far from linear?
My wonder is: has research sussed out a more reliable way to A/B test in these non-ideal conditions? e.g. Take a 5 minute break between each speaker, or listen to each speaker for a minimum of 10 minutes?
Fascinating stuff. Thank you so much. It's always amazing how the human brain works. My issue at the moment is the phantom image in stereo sound, I have the distinct impression that my subconscious is working too hard and i find it somewhat fatiguing. Is this real or my imagination?
Interesting. This appears to demonstrate a general overcompensating-to-balance principle at work in human perception; another example is to stare at a color dot for a while then look at a plain surface to see its opposite.

As usual Alan, brilliant. As a Harbeth owner, I look forward to future videos like this.

Good day this is a unique experience of Audio thanks dear !!!
I believe it! May I suggest if a cost-no-object speaker C was used, the A and B speakers could be compared separately to this reference?

Crazy. Thanks Alan.

Good morning. Can you tell me the Helbrth 40.3 speaker with which amps it works great..?

This was a great video but it only has 2024 views. the people who need to see this are all of the so called UA-cam reviewers.
I thought the same. This video should have millions of views and I don't understand why it doesn't has.
