A small solution to a BIG PROBLEM, only until the "Better than Timber" concept is more widely understood. Outdoor timber is usually Hardwood trees that have grown slowly over hundreds of years. Not sustainable at all. But soft, Scrunchable plastics we recycle from our groceries to be made into replacement timber products, is really sustainable. Just got to spread the message.

this is truly a nice concept to grap and utilise in my home country . i wish to get to know more and help in making planet earth a better place .
I definitely applaud the work being done here, I am curious though. Plastics tend to be unbearably hot during the heat of the sun, I wonder how these benches would stand up? also would replas recycle that bench after it had been graffiti’d on for example.
Coles and Woolworth shopping bags, and also a few other lesser brands of shopping bags, are made from 80+ % recycled soft plastics. But that post-consumer plastic going into the manufacture of those Australian shopping bags does not come from Australia but actually comes from Western Europe via Asia.

More companies need to use recycled materials in making their products.
It is time to look at recycled materials as raw materials for new products.
Ask the company you work for to use more recycled products in their manufacturing process.
A good start but people need to get on board to make it even better.Be responsible in recycling your plastics.
Why use the word "scrunchable" instead of crushable or crunchable or squashable?
Micro plastic fibres are coming out of front loading washing machines in ocean and water way sedentary and fish are ingesting the fibres. Thousands of synthetic nylon and plastic fibres with every wash as there’s no filter on front loaders only a tank , top loaders have a filter basket. Fish and plankton have been found to have the plastic fibres in their flesh.
All plastic needs to be recycled.
All new plastic products need to be made from 100% recycled materials.
No new single use plastic products need to be made.
Recycle everything.
How come supermarkets literally just empty soft plastic collection bins in to their rubbish bins?
99% dont.
southaussiegarbo 2054 woolies do, so that’s at least 50% who do, then you have Coles, so I don’t know what the story is there. Then you have some IGA/Foodworks/Independent stores , and who knows what they’d do
I am an only owner in a block of 10 flats. 9 tenants do not recycle.

Encouraging people to buy more stuff is the worst thing you can do! Stop consuming so much and we'll mitigate around 40% of plastics waste
Here is the the best way to recycle plastics.... think about it... Where did it come from? Solution put it back, bury it full stop. All this carbon some people think is so bad can be put back where it came from. There is no problem.
