Home Designer Professional is great but it doesn’t have all these layer capabilities. I’m doing a lot of retrofit documentation of solar, electrical, seismic, plumbing, sprinklers, well, etc, so I’m strongly thinking about upgrading.

@@ChiefArchitect Thanks for the quick reply. After additional research I realize now that the type of documentation I’d envisioned goes even beyond what Chief Architect Premier does. I’d actually need Building Information Management software or even specialized CAD like AutoCAD MEP. Which would be insane for a single user retrofitting a single house, both cost and time investment wise. I’ll give Home Designer Professional another go for now - it’s still a great program.
