Nice one guys. You are the new Top Gear. Along with Alex, Taylor, Gosh, and those other dudes with the buggered Porsche... Oh, and the dude with the stolen bike!
1000 miles in a car? That’s nothing the Proclaimers walked 500 miles and walked 500 more!
Jacks casual comments still break me. "kiss from a rose" xD
"Ahh I feel like a million króna"
An Icelandic D. I wonder what one of those look like
I died at
"look at my helmet"
"No, thank you"
Do you like Vikings? Well i couldnt eat a whole one..
Another high quality video. Don't ever change for the sake of uploading. People will binge on these all day long👌
You guys as well. Keep em coming!
It looks so good on the Xperia 1 III 4k screen
I know you were under pressure to get first videos out but don’t rush. You don’t have to stick with UA-cam algorithms. You can make your videos an hour long and people will still watch because it’s quality content. Keep up the good work lads.
Unfortunately not true. You kinda have to play the algorithm to be successful. Hour long videos would probably not be a great idea and would hurt them in the long term, despite the quality it would not be as lucrative for the channel
Whilst a lovely sentiment, what qualifies you to say you don't have to stick with the youtube algorithms? You really do, I'm not sure it works how you want it to work
@@mattparkin7224 you can clearly see they couldn’t fit all the footage in these short videos. True fans that enjoy the content will watch even if it’s 2h long. The 20-30 min videos fall in to category with best paid adverts. If the target is to earn more money-short videos. If you want to share your content without having to edit half of it out-then it’s longer videos for slightly less money.
@@Dalbayob69yes but without the good views and more money, they would struggle to produce the videos. They have to invest a lot for this type of video that they do. ‘True fans’ would watch the longer videos, but that’s not what puts food on the table. Need the algorithm in order to thrive
Channels like Lemmino are a good example of longer videos over algorithm style videos. The catch is, those channels get millions of views per video, so it financially makes up for the gap between uploads.
I thought you were great together, on Car Throttle, doing car stuff, but I never thought you'd be even better doing travel videos. Proves me wrong I guess. I think you've definitely found your thing here guys.
Can't wait for more. I think you should've made each day a separate video.
PS! It gives me a nice warm feeling, seeing you guys just being yourselves and seeing the friendship you've developed.
These sorts of travel/driving vids are definitely your niche... Keep at it... Japan adventure next 👀
Watching you guys is delightful
Even splendid if i may say so
Thank you guys.
This is exactly what we needed something different.
I’m so fed up of buy a car buy a car buy a car go to the Nurburgring buy a car back to the Nurburgring. Every one is doing the same.
Not Jack and Ethan, this is Elite now! Keep it up incredible work 👍
there's so many elements to this that 'make' the videos but goddamn Ethan's(?) camera work and cinematography puts yall head and shoulders above the rest, cannot wait to see more!
I love how All The Gear is getting better than Top Gear by having better content and technically more Gears
3 crash test dummies that are melting on fire could do better that TG 😂
@@andrewgta5358 it's been cancelled so they've beaten it by even existing
Blasphemy 😂
@LouieAblett Yeah, sadly, I don't think it's going to return
You have to say new top gear old top gear is goated and always will be
Wow. The cinematography and edit on this video was unreal. So well put together.
My new favourite UA-cam channel. Well done guys. Informative, extremely well edited and filmed and Jack's natural quick wit and one liners makes it a joy to watch.
11:53 "man i love silent hill" LMAO
That was amazing. Huge credit to Ethan’s photography, the puffins, Northern lights, drone work etc, all incredible.
sadly the puffins, the northern lights and some of the drone work is stock footage.. still an awesome landscape though
Whaaaat?!
@@captainashcam just the magic of video.. driving the ring road in 5 days is a challenge, getting decent pictures of puffins is a skill, currently spending THE DAY in the north getting about 3 minute of puffin and bird footage!
@@julesdinglehave you got any proof or just bullshit guessing ?
I had no idea how much I needed to see Ethan learn how to ride a motorbike until Jack's comment in this video. Ethan, please embark on the journey to passing your bike test and document how it goes. I think you'll end up loving it.
I think I remember on the CT podcast Ethan was meant to get a CBT done. Definitely think now is the time.
You guys are a great team. The banter, the cinematography, the quick little snippets of humour (kiss from a rose, I love silent hill etc. 😂) keep it up! 👍
It might be under the AutoAlex umbrella but this is absolutely Jack and Ethan. Well done lads
This is without doubt the best of the ex-CT channels on YT! It comes damn near what we are missing from the old Top Gear days.
Jack is such a typical Brit. Just at 10:48 and the banter between Ethan and jack are just crazy. What a good pair of lads. Love it.
Honestly, I'm so glad you guys got out of that terrible deal at the previous channel and now you're doing such wonderful and fun things. It's awesome watching you guys do what you actually wanted to all along.
You can just tell you two are best mates, the banter is fantastic.. so glad you decided to take that risk! awesome content from you guys!
I've done this ring road twice, once in winter and once in summer. Anyone who loves adventure and driving/hiking and having their mind blown by nature, it's an absolute must. A very humbling and rewarding trip! I just had to comment because when Jack said 'whatever is cheapest and instant' so drily, it made me think back to the juxtaposition of me sitting on the back of my truck, eating cold beans out the can with a camping travel spork whilst looking at a picture perfect postcard landscape and thinking 'it doesn't get any better than this!' haha, fond memories!!
It’s just brilliant to have you guys back onscreen together again 👍👍👍
Knocked it out the park guys. Unreal footage!
Can't wait to see where you go over the years.
Just a fantastic video. Brilliant camera work and huge amounts of wit, charm and chemistry. One of the best YT series I've watched.
You guys crack me up... Jack is easily the funniest of the ex-CT bunch... keep it up!!!
Epic journey. We look forward to your next trip to Iceland. The ring road has only scratched the surface, and there are endless 4x4 trails for you to explore when you come back.
Went around Iceland's road 1 with my family in 2014. We went in clockwise rotation and did it in about 10 days but that was because we stayed with friends just outside Akureyri for three nights and made excursions in the surrounding areas before continuing the round trip. Oh, and we did it in a stock KIA 'ceed loaded to capacity with people and luggage! Including taking a shortcut on dirt roads over a mountain. That car just chugged right along. Admittedly this was in August so no snow.
We saw a lot of the same sights and they were spectacular and I'm sure we only saw a fraction of what Iceland has to offer but after those 10 days I actually started to miss the green and the forests back home in Sweden. Iceland has fantastic landscapes but it isn't very lush. I would gladly go there again though!
There you left your chair. Nice exploring experience. Very calm and fun video gentelMates. Better than Germany asphalt ring
All the gear reminds me of old top gear, friends c*cking about but having amazing experiences and making great memories. Congratulations lads I'm thoroughly enjoying this.
Boys. This is pure gold. What a cracking couple of videos!
These two together are way better than I would have ever imagined. Brilliant!!
Wauw, another great video guys! Really love the content. For your next trips, give yourselves a bit more time and make it into a 3 or 4 episodes. Feels like you've enjoyed the first third and rushed the rest of the trip.
I love the absence of a crew car. it makes everything more real
Those drone shots are epic 👏🫡
this is something completely different to what I came to expect from the channel, yet so enjoyable! thoroughly enjoyed this, sipping on a cold one (without the boys, but still, good after a day of work).
I love how the guys must have experienced less than stellar comfort during their trip, but you wouldn't know. They are just professionals that won't let that discomfort influence their videos. Great job guys!
That Cayenne in the background before they go snowmobiling is the real hero here 🙏
Thanks 😅
3:03 Jack and his comedy skills 😂👍
9:00 Jack mentioned in the AutoAlex podcast why he picked Ethan for survival and now he's gonna do it 😂👍
Please keep the longer videos Ethan it’s a great watch 😊.
I love that these 2 have their own channel and all that good stuff but they need to show that they are mates in real life and that they do disagree, argue and get annoyed with eachother.
Campervan conversion and trips when 👀
Loving the videos guys, keep up the fantastic work
I wasn't sure if you were going to just keep repeating the car throttle vids you did previously. But I'm glad you've branched out, this trip looked epic, hope to see some more in the future!
I’m so happy to see you boys doing what you love the most. Keep it up!
All the guys left Car Throttle and Jack and Ethan accidentally ended up making the best channel. ❤
What a brilliant start to your channel. Loved both videos.
Amazing video guys!
also you've annoyingly outdone yourselves with the t-shirt designs! I rarely ever buy UA-camr merch, but I was gonna buy one of those, and they're all sold out! Honestly I just think that's a sign you're doing really well, I'm not even upset, I'm just really pleased you two have made this channel and that everyone else seems to be loving it too!
Keep being yourselves!
17:42 First gen Cayenne as a tow car!? In the north of Iceland!? Right on!!
Lesson for all holidays. Don't be so rushed and don't get a Defender (if on tarmac). Winter is a great time to visit but also very challenging; storms that can pick up suddenly and there will be periodic main road closures. They almost derailed my whole tour but thankfully only cause significant delays and multifold increase in time on the road.
@19:41…. Give yourselves more credit lads, you guys were brave. Helvi (apologies if I misspelled it) was just blissfully unaware, kind and criminally generous.
Multi video cross America road trip is needed. Stopping at all the small little towns and exploring.
The graphic design for the merch and the channel in general is fantastic
Enjoyed the previous work you did great to see doing something different but still with your old mates. The whole Alex/TDC/ATG has a real team feel to it.
I have been to Iceland many times & hope to move there some day. It’s the most beautiful astonishing country. Great video guys!
Fun fact. The 'viking village' you visited was actually used for filming. It was used for the first few episodes of Netflix's 'The Witcher Origins' series. Im not sure if it was after all the faff you mentioned but its definitely cool to see.
I love the content you guys are doing. Its something different. But i can tell you if the videos were a hour long, i can say i would still watch it all day! Keep it up guys!!
Excellent, no comparisons to other shows but it was different and entertaining without having to be absurd etc☺at the risk of sounding unoriginal, you both have a natural chemistry of good friends, which feels enjoyable from the start
Quality of the video and editing is on point!! Keep doing what you're doing absolutely amazing guys! Can't wait to see future adventures! Ethan definitely needs to do a CBT! 🏍️
Love your road trip videos lads they are are brilliant, looks like you have such a laugh and wicked time , keep em coming 👍🏼
Great 2nd chapter. Thanks Ethan for the coffee tip too, I didn’t know about the blooming, will try that one in the morning 👍 I’m really liking the casual presenting approach as well, there’s no cheesy ‘TV gloss’, plus the top notch editing and camera work make for a great all round experience. More please, but in your own time of course😂
very much reminds me of my iceland trip from a few years ago. went to most of these places
This was amazing. Production and entertainment worthy of television - really enjoying the work
Great series so far guys! A suggestion for "downtime" episodes to make in the future: maybe make some tutorial-like videos with advice on packing travel gear etc?
16:31 The Why Files music 😃😃
Was waiting for hecklefish😅
Top tip: don’t put the gas cooker with a kettle on top of the bench you are sitting at. One day you’ll be at a wobbly bench and will knock it over and give yourself crazy bad burns..and it will happen when you are hours from a hospital.
Leave that yoke on the ground!
"You saw a seal? Kiss from a rose?" - don't worry, Jack, I appreciated it!
What a banging couple of episodes that has been! Cant wait to see where you both decide to explore next
Loving the content guys! can't wait for more adventures
loving the content boys, I will be honest my only criticism would be it's a shame Ethan didn't have a budget to find the vehicle for the journey, we all know he is the milkman and an expert on finding reliable vehicles :)
I just installed a projector in my garage, and this looked absolutely spectacular on a 135” screen! Love it
Absolutely loved these Iceland videos. They’re undoubtedly my favourite videos ever with these two in, everything top notch 10/10 content. Can’t wait for more!
I'm impressed guys! The chemistry is better then ever, and the drone shots, filming and editing is spot on. Everything feels genuine and not blown up for cliks.👏Congratulations and thanks for a great video!
This was absolutely brilliant! Can I ask if you have plans for a podcast when you're not traveling to give more content and ask people for suggestions and ideas?
This series was top class. I'm so glad you guys have done your own thing. Would love to see you come to New Zealand, you'll need more than 5 days though
The comment of needing twice as long as you think is completely accurate for visiting Iceland, such a beautiful country!
I remember the road that you took off the ring road, I was driving through with a Toyota Yaris and the whole time I was thinking that my car might break down. But I made it out in one piece and you should really take your time when you driving around Iceland, not only for safety but more importantly take in every bit of Iceland scenery.
That's a very amazing start, road trips... Hope everything goes well and you will be able to produce more videos!
Loved it! I'd love to see now a self made car van, with a tent on top, traveling around the french villages of france and messing around with good wine and cheese
What a great first few videos lads. Glad you had such a good time. I look forward to your next journey 👍👍
Did the western ring road in a Fiat Panda with my wife a few years back. Gravel roads and all. 10/10 would recommend
With these three channels we have now arrived back at a powerful vehicular trifector not seen since the original top gear. This is the perfect balance of the specials and a great defender, Autoalex is the Clarkson powerhouse of all things car. And top dead are that balance of banter cars and Mays OCD in cleaning. Absolute legends
Great to have you lads back making top content. My favourite channel already !!
I've followed you guys and Alex from the early days of CT, but the first merch I bought is your Iceland t-shirt! Love your videos and excited to see what's coming next!
Love the video, lads Looking forward to seeing more in the future.
Love it lads! Class as always!
Idea for you, would love to see a series where you build an overland / off road camper similar to that Landy, would be awesome to see you build it ans then take it all over!
Awesome trip, incredible country. Ethan, the Power Ranger on a snowmobile 🤣
Already my favorite channel under the Auto Alex tree. Brilliant stuff lads!
Brilliant first series. Glad you lads are trying something different and it not just being about cars
Sooo happy this channel exists. Amazing adventure, great cinematography and 2 down to earth guys having a laugh. Looking forward to seeing more! From a car guy that runs expeditions for a living 👊
I'm just glad there wasn't any royal mail lorries 😂 Jokes aside, epic road trip. Can't wait for the next one!
Cinematography, the bants and road trip is perfect. Each Autoalex brach offers something different.
Really enjoyed watching your trip to Iceland.
And has made me decide I absolutely have to go back there.
So glad you guys came back doing something completely different from CT. More like this pleeeeeeease
Production quality of this is very good well done ALG! And auto Alex !!
I love Jack's comment when he lists everything he doesn't like about the Defender, then proceeds to say "it's really good" 😂
I remember being in Norway once, and having the same experience of the sun never fully setting and just being below the horizon if was a weird thing to get used to.
This channel is going to be so dope, I literally can't wait for next week
Amazing footage gents, absolutely loving the direction this channel is taking. What a beautiful place to visit, much love from Australia
Awesome, makes me want to take my motorhome to Iceland for a road trip. Do not change, keep doing what you are doing. I really like the laid back presenting skills, you are both naturals on camera. A great addition to the AutoAlex camp.
Though it's always enjoyable to see Ethan and Jack muck about, I can't help but feel like the trip was way more epic than the video shows. I do feel like there's a little work on the narrative and the 'pretty view' shots here, still. But hey, I'm here to stay. Let's see where this channel goes
god I am glad you guys are back, these vids have been exactly what I needed since you left ct -
