To just see how casually Jean-Michael is playing and with sheer skill speaks for itself that how great of a player he must've been in his prime. It's definitely both the players just having fun here, but then the distance from which they both are receiving the ball, especially Saive, sheer class! What a fun, entertaining, unforgettable match!
Saive retired about an year after this game, having played at the Olympics a record 7 times straight since 1988, when the sport was first introduced there. Chih-Yuan is 15 years younger than him and currently the world no. 26 with a bright future.
In fact, Chuang Chih-Yuan is 40 years old now, which means he is about to retire. His highest world rank was 3 in 2003.
Chuang Chih-Yuan is very unfortunately retiring. He had a great career.
Chuang is likely going to retire after this Olympics. He played during the period where the nation did not fund athletic training programs and spent all his savings and some more to build the first dedicated table tennis training facility.
@@benlex5672 That's absolutely awesome!! Thanks for sharing 🥰
Thanks for the update! I know nothing about this sport so it's appreciated :]
don't you realize this is the hardest game of tennis table? this is madness.

Anyone else feel bad for that scoring lady?
She looked annoyed at first but I saw her laughing near the end too XD
Well she gave him a point when he moved the table so I don't think she's that bothered lol
I'd feel bad if I scored that lady. :p
In China all women they are like this. They are robots.
No
Never knew Agent Coulson was that good...
lol, this should be the top comment xD
it is
This comment is pure genius.
Hhhh so the Chinese guy works for Hydra then
true xD
As if playing at a professional level didn't already require skill, being able to accurately hit goofy shots from so far away and with such precision all while putting on a show needs a whole new level of skill. Such a joy to watch! :D
今天看這影片特別有感觸嗚嗚嗚
今天是莊智淵宣布最後一次打奧運了也是他人生的最後一次奧運比賽了

They literally need to rent a football field to play the tennis table.
lolololollol
right 🤣🤣🤣
The 4.8k who disliked this video are the hardcore purists table tennis players with no sense of humor.
Es verdad! No me había dado cuenta. Hay gente sin humor, les desagrada todo.
and they are all garage player. against their 5 yr old brother.
Well people paid to see professional penis play, not some goofy performance.
@@aktan4ik idio you idiot
@@aktan4ik , pennis are funny
The moment two balls got onto the table the umpire was like "I don't get paid enough for this shit"😂😂
yah but it was only an exhibition match anyway, so his job was kind of useless
hish11 TAIWAN NO.1
margaret lyon what are these exhibition matches for?
@@margaretlyon2115 it's an official match but they were good friend and after the result is clear they decide to have fun.

One of the few times I actually enjoy UA-cam recommendations
Mate I have been blessed with this, female athletics and 50 scientific differences between men and women. I must be on an enourmous streak of luck.
oh look everyone we got an elegant viewer with an exquisite taste in fine videos. Only delightful videos will satisfy this fella.
Faggatron if you say so
So does that mean that you doesn't enjoy watching a UA-cam recommended video at 3am of a turtle fucking a shoe?? What kind of soulless person are you?
It's midnight and I have school tomorrow. What am I doing
This is An alias now same dude
WhatsUpGaming me too
I have an exam tomorrow lol

This is An alias now omg same
Best example of a friendly match
And this is one of the moments when you lose the match but win the hearts
It's a show
Random UA-cam gold right here! Brilliant just brilliant
The best match he ever lost.
Or the best match he ever had. And he lost it. Or even though he lost it.
Etc.
Me and buddies usually play like this when we play, not with the extreme spins and prob not that distance. but its fun :D
@@yescoblol if you have this kind fun while playing with your buddies then, there is no harm if I say that you have the best buddies in your life, you are the luckiest one, your life is gold. God bless you man, never lose them.
I watched this 6 years ago, then about 3 years ago, then again today after Chuangs retirementannouncement. A classic game is always fun to watch because it's a classic game.
There is a reason we call Sports a game, because that's what it is, a Game, something Fun to experience, to play. That spirit seems to have lost somehow nowadays.
so true i love chess but not so great
Actually he didn't retire
Coach: He’s Asian, you can’t win, so just have fun
@Nictorious NZ Wow That was unexpected
@Nictorious NZ why are you taking that comment to offence
Nictorious NZ it’s a joke, but the Chinese are the best in table tennis, like they have to go ez on their opponents to not make it look too ez
Yes
@@pen5305 Why do you think he's taking offense to it?
Didn't expect to watch the _whole_ thing, but I'm glad I did.
same for some reason i just keep watching, and i even clicked on it because i though ugh why not i got nothing better to do with my life
It was so enjoyable how they didn't even car about the points it was all about having fun the judges probably lost count when they went double balls
I did the same thing. Nice to see everyone in good sport and enjoying themselves.
Hahah, same. I like how they turned it into a show
I wonder if this was planned from the beginning. It was like watching the Harlem Globetrotters play table tennis.
I love their spotmansship. it's like jean-micheal called chuang.
"JM: yo bud, wanna play table tennis in a stadium full of crowds?"
"CC: sure why not, let's give them some entertainment"
Van Fahnel reminds me of law and paul in aftercredits on tekken 5
When East meets West showing humour and sportmanship combined with humour at it's finest. A wonderful example of nations getting on and a lessonwe should all remember.
How i end up watching this xD
i ask myself the same question:))

I was watching handling tarantulas....now I'm watching 12 minutes worth of men play table tennis with erotica sound effects. o_O
can't beat the chinese , let's just have some fun .
not Chinese, Taiwanese.
Helena York You say he is not Chinese ? Taiwan is part of China , dude .
Well that's not true but at the same time true
Di Dxpeo no, Taiwan is not part of China. They have elections, own army, own pinyin , own flag. Most importantly, Taiwanese dont want to be associated with the Chinese.
Di Dxpeo Im half Taiwanese...so...I have the right to say that I have no connection to Chinese or China. Over 80% of Taiwan dislike China.
