Looking and sounding great man! I also love Cooper tires. They have served me well. And that green color ain't so bad... lol, kinda looks like an old Forest Service truck. Have you ever mentioned the general area where you live up there? I don't recall. Looks pretty. My buddy operates trains on the Ak railroad up there. He loves it. Anyways, good video.👍
Up in Alaska these trucks are bought to be used in the North Slope by oil companies and are put to work and they come out with low miles but high hrs most of these older ones are sold off and are very reliable
That one was still a great purchase. The full back seat definitely helps for being a long distance hauling rig to either bring your buddies along or keep your gear dry and secure.
I bought a old F150 extended cab long bed with the 4.6 and got it for a little over 3k with under 40k miles. It was a steal. It is still running around by my nephew.
thanks for really caring about this beauty..as you can tell this truck has many fans..and somewhat rare due to being mostly stock and in such great shape, especially the area it worked in..
I have the same year but a F250 with 127k miles. Was garage kept by my family member until I got it and other than repairing the driver side valve cover gasket wiring, it runs great. Every time I take it to Lowe’s someone asks if I want to sell it, automatically they get an emphatic “No!” I wouldn’t buy a modern truck if they cut the price in half, so I’ll just keep it.
I was plowing snow about an hour ago with one of these green fleet trucks. Same year, basically the same truck. There are 3-4 of em in the fairbanks area. Nice job sir!
Tip for the interior, if you want to add cruise control it is dead easy on the powerstroke OBS'. All you need to do is swap the horn pad with one that has the cruise control buttons, the PCM should already be programmed for it.
Both Backyard Alaskan and Peg uploaded a video about their shitbox old ferds on the same day... I think this is a message from God that I need to get back to wrenching on my shitbox old ferd. Always an awesome video!
Man that old Ford is absolutely mint for the great north💯!Its looks pretty tough and runs n sounds amazingly great🤠You should call it Wrigley because its spearmint green lol
A Transgo tugger kit, another trans cooler and a torque converter lockup switch are musts for these trucks. Your E40D will love you for it. A couple hundred bucks and a few hours will save you thousands and many hours in the long run. Always enjoyed your videos have been watching since you started. Nolan.
I have two 95s lots more miles. I live in the mountains so later intercooler makes a big difference. You list all the right mods. I know a few still running with 700k. Great trucks.
Well done, she looks a lot better than when you drug her home, certainly sounds strong. I guess painting stuff in those parts is not so important as having them be reliable. I do like your blue 250 but that kermit green is quite appealing.
The E40D came with a crappy torque converter according to every trans shop I spoke with.. go with triple disc billet when the tow/haul starts flashing.
Beautiful F-350 !!! Nice work returning it to full function. It needs a windshield...from the parts truck perhaps ?? I have a 1996 4x4 F-250 with a 460 CID V-8...fuel injected....and the same transmission. Love the dual fuel tanks. A real beast behind a snow plow in Colorado !! BTW, that's Calypso Green...same color as my truck too. Have fun with it !!
Looks like we were tackling IPR issues at the same time. Had to replace the one in my work truck along with the repair pigtail for the same damage yours exhibited. At least you got a circuit code. Mine never logged a code. Its unnerving when the truck shuts down while your out on the road. Maybe not the end of the world up yonder but in Cali in a busy intersection is horrible when everybody behind you is loosing their minds😂, i like the attention you gave the interior. Its nice to have something nice.
Dang! Yeah that’s even more frustrating not getting a code for it. I’m hoping this video will help some people out who experience the same headache. Thanks for watching!
Well, lesson learned: fried pig-tails are great for an off-the-grid snack... BAD for a Powerstroke. Now THAT is a nice rig! Enjoy your efforts for many years to come. Cheers!
Im a Mopar guy myself, but this Truck gives me Truck House life vibes. On that channel, in Alaska, Tim has a built up 1 ton obs like this and it is definitely die hard. Has the better Diesel motor, they certainly dont make no more. Timmy takes his 1 Ton with a Cabin built on back to some precarious places, one would say Dangerous scenarios, but perhaps for us lower 48ers we would call it Dangerous at - 60° below zero.
It always amazed me how in the ‘90s Fords had digital odometers. But then in ‘99 when they rolled out the Super Duty, they went back to the old mechanical Rolodex style for a few years.
Cool truck. These big fellars are very expensive to run here in commie land Finland. Diesel vehicles with big durable engines, which are privately used and are not registered as big trucks, are taxed to hell. If the vehicle is registed as a truck, you need to have a expensive truck drivers license here. Aaand, you can only drive max 80km/h speeds, even if highway speed limit is 120km/h. Beautiful scenery. Seems you aint running the hamster wheel corporate world. Lucky baastid. Greets from Finland. I'll just go into my garage and tinker with summer car...
Owning a few of them know they are great till it breaks down and then you do what you did. Only real upgrade I ever made was going for those chinese starters that will spin till no tomorrow, it requires a high speed to get those pumps to do what a common rail never had problems with. Loved my last one as it came from Texas, had so few miles on it with a brand new factory installed engine and standard five speed. Again a new chinese starter as ours cost a arm and first child. I was angry because of being crippled, could not step into it.... and no one to help me get in. So even tho I did not have the excuse of being drunk, I don't drink.... traded it for a piece of crap I could get into. My piece of junk is parked and someone else is trying for a few more miles on it. My old rig traded is working every day... and now has about seven hundred thousand on the clock
an engine that just runs but cant actually run... one time a welder let me drive around a little, but after they go out of service... they run but can't actually run, like the new ones the guys put 1500 gallon an hour lift pumps on with non road use lift kits but drive around not giving a... because that newer stroke is a literal nutcase the way they feed them.
This truck would be good for towing a boat, hauling a 5th wheel camper or having a slide in truck camper on it. Buffing out the rust spots, touching up those spots and clearcoating the paint could be a fun diy project.
Nice work young feller!
Thanks!
The legend himself has entered the chat 😂
Peg abides
She’s a beaut !
Zip ties & bias plies has taught, that’s the toughest engine in existence.
Wrong engine 😂
Yeah it's the 7.3 idi you can't kill, not the powersmoke 💨
@@JohnWheelsyah, I’m pretty sure Peg has fed the Cosby sauce to a Power stroke also lol
Oh yea for sure lol
She'll last bud!
That truck was made back when trucks were made for work. I’d take it over a new one any day. Great job getting it back on the road.
Nice truck! I have a 95 ext cab 4X4 with a 7.3 with 320,000. Still smooth 👍
Nice! I just bought a 97 with 203k miles Love it!
Great truck! You have done a good job bringing her back to life!
Crewcab long box are best thing to have. Fits everybody in and you can close the tailgate with plywood in the box. ✌️👌
All heavy duty trucks should be like that. Can’t stand these short beds now.
Great job getting it road ready... One cool truck it's a beast...
Hey Austin maybe this summer you can tinker with that Studebaker Weasel. Looking forward to seeing it rally 👊😎👍
I was never a huge crew cab fan but this truck is AWESOME. I'd drive it every day. Thanks for sharing!
Looking and sounding great man! I also love Cooper tires. They have served me well. And that green color ain't so bad... lol, kinda looks like an old Forest Service truck. Beautiful old iron. What was a “slope truck”? What was this used for?
Up in Alaska these trucks are bought to be used in the North Slope by oil companies and are put to work and they come out with low miles but high hrs most of these older ones are sold off and are very reliable
@@Abcdef-zp1lqthanks!
Love this truck! Good Job Austin!
That one was still a great purchase. The full back seat definitely helps for being a long distance hauling rig to either bring your buddies along or keep your gear dry and secure.
I’m not even a fan of ford but researched great engines and the 7.3 diesel came up as one of the best. Sweet truck
Your a true artist.
It has that perfect look and sound.
Your efforts definitely show Austin. It should serve You well for quite some time. Thanks for sharing, Best Wishes to You and Your Family.
Yeah lotta work. Nice you know that stuff. Kinda new info for me. Glad it worked out. That color is wild but its growing on me Cheers Buddy 🍺🤛😎👍

Forest service green 7.3! That’s super cool

That’s awesome! Yes I’ve seen a couple of them around.

Time consuming project but worth every bit!

Haha! It has been coined ‘Toothpaste’ for the color so far. Thanks for watching!
Kermit
She really sounds good. Glad you did your before and after.
Nice ! I got a 150 brand new in 92 .Rust never sleeps though ,she need some love now .
Final result seems x cellent

Love the front bumper set up!! Thanks for the video!
This is a beautiful truck. New sub. Love the show
Very nice! I love my '93 F-150 2WD 5.0L that I bought and restored partially several years ago. It only has 99k miles on it.
I have two 95s lots more miles. I live in the mountains so later intercooler makes a big difference. You list all the right mods. I know a few still running with 700k. Great trucks.
right on man, thank you for the up to date video on this one!
One of my favorite trucks of all times. Hard to decide if this truck or your old red one is my favorite on the channel
Damn nice work man,, you really transformed it !!

Excellent video Austin. Really enjoyed it!
You did it up nice buddy. Good job. Great truck! 👍👌

I would drive it to costco! That green is legendary. "Forest Service Green" is super popular in WA ATM.

I saw how truck house life really likes those extra headlights on his truck-any plans to put more lights on your truck?
1:49 what does the window sticker Diesel, Exempt mean.
Is it fuel type and road tax?
Sorry for the dumb ? But I'm in jolly old England Old Chap. 🇬🇧
This is a very cool truck😁😁👍👍
A lot of work & $$$$. Nice!!!
I got the same truck. 97’ manual 5sp with 5.8l. Had 88k on it, only issues were brakes and brake lines. Otherwise it’s excellent.
Appreciate the in-depth diagnostic experiences you’ve had dealing with that 1990’s stuff
Love that rig
Great well worth the effort
nice truck
Sick truck!
Beast! What’s the story on the superduty parked next to it at the end of the video?
That one will be in some future videos!
It always amazed me how in the ‘90s Fords had digital odometers. But then in ‘99 when they rolled out the Super Duty, they went back to the old mechanical Rolodex style for a few years.
love your explanation!! thank you!
A nice truck for sure.. better then the crap we get new.
Beautiful truck
nice truck. Almost new, old stock :)
oh love that truck - wish i could get one...;-)
I want this truck so bad. Awesome.
Nice beast... 👍
Thats a keeper..
Does every vehicle there have broken windshields?
My 97 was the same color Arco electric.
Very nice.
It will be a great truck.
Green makes it a unique truck.
Nice job 👍👍🇺🇲

One mean green machine. Take care of that rust asap. Treat it good that truck will last 500k easy.
Hell yeah
Im a believer in new pig tails
Well done their sonny boy!! Lol

That things a sweet heart id love have it.
What ever happened to points, condensers, plug wires and timing LOL
Looks a lot like US Forest Service green
keep a cam sensor in the glove box !!!
Look's like a former US Forest Service truck.
Kind of new, but well worth keeping on the road. Can I buy it? Jk
Noice!
👍 👍 👍 👍

Cant beat a 90s Ford truck. Ive owned 90s chevys dodges and Fords. Ford is superior in every way. Its not even close.
All U need to do is paint the back Bumper BLACK n ur SET!!!
This truck would be good for towing a boat, hauling a 5th wheel camper or having a slide in truck camper on it. Buffing out the rust spots, touching up those spots and clearcoating the paint could be a fun diy project.
You can't beat a 7.3 Powerstroke. Better than Isuzu(duramax) or a Cummins (I'm a Cummins tech)
What’s the story on that maroon NBS superduty in the background?
👍👍👋🥖🇫🇷😉
