I put the hose directly into my rain barrel and when the barrel is full cannot control the overflow. Seems there isn't enough pressure up the hose to stop the water from continuing to flow down the hose to the rain barrel?

So once the barrel is full of water, how do you empty it? and how do you make it safe for drinking. Seems like it would be pretty hard to move and or empty it when its full, maybe it has a drain or a spout on the barrels.... I have no idea lol it gets below freezing in the North so just wondering how to do it in the winter, with snow and to keep the barrels from freezing and cracking

@ Angela, systems like this are not safe for drinking, but the water can be used for gardening if you've used a food safe barrel.
