    It's the salt. I've tried tea staining clothing for Halloween for years with crap results. I didn't know about the SALT.
    And coffee for the fini.

    I have a very brightly colored plaid shirt that I wanted to tone down or make darker. It's white red blue and green. At first I tried to bleach it but nothing happened although it says it's 100% cotton. I'll try this one, I hope it works.

      You might want to leave it out in the sun for long periods of time to see if it’ll naturally fade as well.

    Won´t the dye wash away if you clean the shirt? I mean all the stuff you used water solubale (except the shirt of course) so is there a way of a constant dirty look?

    • @hashtastic3537
      @hashtastic3537 6 років тому

      The salt helps keep the tea stain somehow. But if you wash this stuff you will lose some.

    • @TheEndTimesChannel
      @TheEndTimesChannel  6 років тому +1

      You can have wash it with a bit of salt in the mix but tbh repeated washing WILL eat away at that lighter tones unavoidably

    Great job!! How did you get the dark drip/splatter looking spots to be so dark? Mine usually turn out yellow or brownish.

  • @AvareKotenok
    @AvareKotenok 5 років тому +2

    Hey, probably a dumb question, but I assuming running the now stained shirt through the wash will lighten the weathering, if not remove the stains all together, right?
    I ask this because I've just finished staining a shirt, but it's gotten a little stiff in the process. I'm curious if just running it through a cold wash with no soap will make it less stiff or if it will just ruin all of my work.

    • @TheEndTimesChannel
      @TheEndTimesChannel  5 років тому +1

      JAWS it will fade for sure, but you’re right. Hand washing in cold water should only make the fade minimal. If you did it really dark and don’t let it soak too long you should be ok

    Doing this with a "vote for Pedro" shirt, did a half gallon worth of tea dabbed on the shirt and it didn't stain very well, should I make more? Make it more dark? (It was rather light) any advice would be nice thanks

    • @TheEndTimesChannel
      @TheEndTimesChannel  6 років тому

      Double D about how many tea bags did you use? If it’s too light I’d let the brew with the bags still in it steep for longer and maybe use coffee primarily

    • @UnderfedShmuck

      The best way to deal with heavy denim jeans is just to wear them while running through a grass fire or stomping a knee high bonfire out.
      Needless to say, you will need to wear leather combat boots and a similar heavy denim or cowhide leather jacket.
      Always get a friend to help you who has tough hands that are tough enough to put any smouldering areas out and scrunch the ends of your jeans out if they catch alight. For an even more dramatic affect, you can then take the jeans off and use them to beat the fire out until they almost catch alight.
      For an event a few years ago, my friend cheated and borrowed my jeans that had been worn for a week of stubble burning the previous year. Everyone was quite puzzled about how he had distressed them.
