And the only time i played it was at night when i wanted to relax. Also it got me into skateboard for a little while, And made Metal my number 1# music genre. God i loved that game

I read from a different comment section in a THPS video, that you could use the original PlayStation version of THPS1 and play it like an actual CD if you popped it into a CD player. If I knew that back then, I would’ve been playing the hell out of it. I loved every track on the OST. Still do.

dude, I just turned 30, and playing the game again, (the remastered version), hit me right in the nostalgia. Even though it looks different, it looks just as I thought it would look when I was younger. even though the graphics don’t hold up that well now, (for the original version), we all thought it looked good when we were kids. Now that will be this generation with the remaster. If anyone from this generation actually plays it.

Born in 1993, now 22. Use to play this game back in the 90s with my cousin for hours. Crazy how music can make you remember so much that you thought you had forgotten forever. Wish I could go back to one of those days where everything was easier. When things were simple. When people actually had conversations with each other instead of being on their smartphone. Bring back the 90s!!!
I was nine when the game was released. I got it a couple months later for Christmas. My birthday is July 3rd. So middle of the year. Got the play station. Once thps came out. Every Christmas after we always got a new one. We had cousins who loved skating more than we did. I played every single one. Up to project 8. After that I grew up and lost my want to play. Let's bring it back. Old school though. None of that Skate crap. #bringbackthps
This game shaped my life completely. Got me into skateboarding, which I did religiously between 2003-2010 and still every now and then. Almost introduced me to so much amazing music between the first 4 Tony Hawk games. Forever grateful to be introduced to PRIMUS from this game!

I had this for the N64 and never bought a save pack, so every time i played i had to start from the first level. I NEVER got mad at that because i loved playing and would just beat the game every time i turned it on. OH and i'd also jam out to the soundtrack:)

I come here from the future to say that I recently turned 30, and hearing all these songs again makes me feel old. So yeah… I know the feeling. Played this back when it first came out in 99 when I was only eight years old. First experience was on the demo disc from Pizza Hut, and then a few months or so later, my uncle bought the actual game, and I played the hell out of it every time he came over. playing it again all these years later as Tony Hawk‘s Pro Skater 1+2, it just hits me right in the nostalgia.
I wonder how the soundtrack was chosen for this game. May seem like an simple odd question with a simple answer of it being randomly selected, but I like to think that perhaps each skater was called to choose a favorite song of theirs to have placed in the video game, seeing as how there's 10 skaters to play as (not including Officer Dick and Private Carrera) and only 10 songs.
I just watched the doc on the making of the game and they did ask each of the skaters to pick some songs they really liked and then they went to the bands to see what songs from the list they could get for the game

It´s kind awesome, when you hear this soundtrack years after you´ve played THPS, it all comes back...childhood, feelings and emotions you´ve had when you was a teenager :D sitting back on your lousy couch with your friends around, when weather was too bad for skating.
I was 14 when this came out. My mom gave this to me as a Christmas gift. To this day I don’t believe I’ve been more happy with a gift. The Soundtrack literally helped shape my musical taste.
I use to play this with my 2 big cousins all the time the whole sound track takes me back to when I was a kid, it really puts a big smile on my face and also some tears.. I remember going to the skate park with my brother, big names were coming out, watching very painful skating videos, pacsun (pacifc sunwear), etnies, miller's outpost, camo pants, thermals you wear under a print tshirt.............also around the same time WWF was in the prime!!! Lita, Hardy Boys, Benoit, Chyna, Mankind, NWO, The Game (Triple H)!!! I miss those days! Take me back!!!

THPS introduced me to Primus as a young child. 33 Years old now and i can't thank those involved enough for putting this soundtrack together. I was an 8th grader who listened to pop songs & thought Britney Spear's "Oops i did it again" was "fun to listen to". Then they hit me with genre's of music i never heard of. And Goldfingerrrrrrr! This playlist pulled me into these genres better than the music my friends at the time were showing me.

Born in 1993, now 22. Use to play this game back in the 90s with my cousin for hours. Crazy how music can make you remember so much that you thought you had forgotten forever. Wish I could go back to one of those days where everything was easier. When things were simple. When people actually had conversations with each other instead of being on their smartphone. I was nine when the game was released. I got it a couple months later for Christmas. My birthday is July 3rd. So middle of the year. Got the play station. Once thps came out. Every Christmas after we always got a new one. We had cousins who loved skating more than we did. I played every single one. Up to project 8. After that I grew up and lost my want to play. Let's bring it back. Old school though. None of that Skate crap. #bringbackthps

This game shaped my life completely. Got me into skateboarding, which I did religiously between 2003-2010 and still every now and then. Almost introduced me to so much amazing music between the first 4 Tony Hawk games. Forever grateful to be introduced to PRIMUS from this game!

I had this for the N64 and never bought a save pack, so every time i played i had to start from the first level. I NEVER got mad at that because i loved playing and would just beat the game every time i turned it on. OH and i'd also jam out to the soundtrack:)

I come here from the future to say that I recently turned 30, and hearing all these songs again makes me feel old. So yeah… I know the feeling. Played this back when it first came out in 99 when I was only eight years old. First experience was on the demo disc from Pizza Hut, and then a few months or so later, my uncle bought the actual game, and I played the hell out of it every time he came over. playing it again all these years later as Tony Hawk‘s Pro Skater 1+2, it just hits me right in the nostalgia.
I wonder how the soundtrack was chosen for this game. May seem like an simple odd question with a simple answer of it being randomly selected, but I like to think that perhaps each skater was called to choose a favorite song of theirs to have placed in the video game, seeing as how there's 10 skaters to play as (not including Officer Dick and Private Carrera) and only 10 songs.
Perhaps they consulted Hawk himself on the type of music Skaters listened too?
Maybe devs themselves listened to it. In School level at playground part there is wall with Suicidal Tendencies (Freedumb album cover) on it
I just watched the doc on the making of the game and they did ask each of the skaters to pick some songs they really liked and then they went to the bands to see what songs from the list they could get for the game

It´s kind awesome, when you hear this soundtrack years after you´ve played THPS, it all comes back...childhood, feelings and emotions you´ve had when you was a teenager :D sitting back on your lousy couch with your friends around, when weather was too bad for skating.
I was 14 when this came out. My mom gave this to me as a Christmas gift. To this day I don’t believe I’ve been more happy with a gift. The Soundtrack literally helped shape my musical taste.

Late 90's/early 2000 era of skateboarding was so memorable. I remember going to the skate park with my brother, big names were coming out, watching very painful skating videos, pacsun (pacifc sunwear), etnies, miller's outpost, camo pants, thermals you wear under a print tshirt.............also around the same time WWF was in the prime!!! Lita, Hardy Boys, Benoit, Chyna, Mankind, NWO, The Game (Triple H)!!! I miss those days! Take me back!!!

THPS introduced me to Primus as a young child. 33 Years old now and i can't thank those involved enough for putting this soundtrack together.
