skateboard gave me a chance to to make friends and get street nation bigger at every street. Every memories and every werehearts were everything skateboard. It’s still in memory …..forever.
Bro Sean Sheffy is from DMV area. I skated with him in DC many times in the late 80s. He was on SHUT and east coast only team. Get your facts straight guys. DMV was not a skate friendly environment in the 80s 😂
I remember skating with Sheffey and Steve Teague in Ocean City MD in 1990. I used to do these 180 fs no comply’s that I popped pretty high. Sheffey was stoked on them and freaking out. To this day it’s best compliment I ever got
I was on skate pilgrimage at Wallenberg when Sheffey and Jovantae showed up to do the ad where Jovantae backside kickflips the hip right next to the big blocks. I was on the west end near the fence minding my own business and not leaving because I was on vacation from Canada. I looked over once and saw Sean eyeing me with that menacing “wtf is this kook doing lurking” cause it was just us 3 plus the photographer but being naive I ignored it and kept skating. I will never forget being laserbeamed by Sean Sheffey lol
He could be quite intense. It was a bit of a no no putting pictures in a magazine of a trick that wasn't landed. I was a photographer, and also skated with photographers for British skate mags. I've known them to take photos of someone, say doing a handrail, and if they didn't land it on that session with photographer, the magazine would hold picture until maybe he did land it. Often there might be time limit. Like the article needs to go to print so if skater wanted pic in he better land trick. Having said that I do remember the odd rumour 1 or 2 pictures got in, but trick not landed. He could have gone back next day though and landed it.
Loads of tricks in the big magazines weren't landed. I was there for one guy doing a trick down a hubba where not only did he not land the trick he never even actually got in and slid for even and inch, yet it was a 2 page Thrasher spread. It happens, even with covers sometimes.@@tomf4087
I might be wrong but I think the inward heel under the tree was a sequence in Big Brother issue No. 2. I stared at the photos for so long, just thinking... how? 😮

True east coast power haus
Back in 1990 at a demo for ABF skateshop in nj we kind of battled a switch varial on a flat ramp. HE WON.
Wow Sean doing some switch grind and slide tricks real smooth. I’ve skated with Sean a few times on the EAST COAST and it was memorable for sure!
Goat!!
One of my top three skaters. Love his style.
Certified and Bonded OG ❤
