As a city kid, this show is so important to me. Growing up in the early 2000s, it seemed like every show was set in the suburbs. While that isn't a bad thing, it really isn't relatable to those of us who didn't grow up that way. Seeing Hey Arnold with its apartment buildings, public schools, empty lots, public transit, corner stores, and highways was a huge breath of fresh air. I wish other cartoons would explore these more Brooklyn-esque settings.
Yeah there aren't that many cartoons like this that take place in the city. I wish there were more like that but unfortunately it doesn't seem like its going to happen.
Hey Jordan, my dad wrote for Hey Arnold. He was part of the group of Rugrats writer that pitched Nicktoons ideas to Mary. We watched the first 10 minutes of this together. He was shocked by the picture of young Craig and by how much information you had. The first ten minutes are accurate to his experience.
@@whotfduece08 Yeah, he was there a while. He even wrote a full Hey Arnold movie in 1998 before a different movie came out in 2002. + My mom story boarded "The longest Monday" episode.
An interesting thing I noticed in the Helga sleepwalking episode is that she was constantly eating things like the breakfast from Arnold's house and when she sleepwalked into a sandwich shop. The reason she was eating pork grinds in the first place was there was no groceries in her house, so the little detail of her always eating when she can in that episode is such a real touch. She was just hungry.
About Mr. Huynh’s episode , I greatly appreciate the creators efforts in making a meaningful story about a Vietnamese immigrant and his history, plus I also noticed the choice of naming him “Huynh” instead of the typical “Nguyen” that everybody uses for Vietnamese people, the small details matter and i can tell that they cared ❤
This show always felt so real to me, the heat wave episode is probably one of the most memorable. That episode just makes you feel like you are there, stuck with them.
Hey Arnold was my safe space as a child! When an episode ended, I would always feel this longing. I didn't want them to be over and definitely wanted to live in Arnolds world. I learned so much from this show. Thank you so much for creating this amazing content!
I empathize with the "feel of longing". There was something in just the closing credit music notes. As soon as they started playing I just always felt... sad. Even being just a kid at the time. I own the complete series on DVD and still hearing it as an adult, the closing credits still make me sad when the first note starts.
same. now as an adult if i cant sleep i just put on this show for background noise because it makes me feel safe and just at home. ill watch it until i fall asleep. i used to fall asleep to the show when i was little too so thats probably why i find so much comfort in having this show on🥰
It's so relatable the mean girl bully in grade school often was the one who was in long term relationships in later school (like didn't remain single or turn into a highschool bully) and was definitely just struggling as a kid to deal with emotions
Thank you for this. I’m 33 years old and grew up with Hey Arnold. It was always such a deep show. My friends and I still reference it, quote it,and talk about it to this day.
Hey Arnold was the first media I’d ever seen that had a kid’s guardian be their grandparent(s). Arnold’s brand of maturity, empathy, & the way he got along with adults really spoke to me, as another kid who’s main parental influences were more than a generation older. Still kids, but used to thinking & reacting differently. Thanks for this!
This show was surprisingly deep and plot/character driven for a kids show. Especially in 1996. The characters were essentially flawed and felt real, so we not only understood their dilemmas and successes and experiences, but many could relate to them. Like Arnold living with his grandparents. I lived with my grandma three points in my life. When I was 5. When I was 15. And when I was 19. Of course I miss her, so when I watch Hey Arnold I see that bond they have, Arnold and his grandparents. Because I had the same bond with my grandma. Out of all the Nick shows, it was my favorite.
Aw, that's so sweet! Rewatching as an adult, I realized that Arnold's grandpa reminds me a lot of my dad, who was 57 when I was born. We had a lot in common and he thought I was just the best; he had a great sense of humor, although he could be a little crotchety with other people sometimes... He didn't always know how to help me, but he always believed I would be ok. ...While I thought Arnold was just a goody-goody when I was a kid, now that I don't have parents myself... Completely changes my perspective!
As a kid growing up in Harlem during the 90's , Hey Arnold! was my absolute favorite show. It resonated with me so much because it reminded me of all my friends I had growing up. I was apart of the generation who was allowed to roam the city streets at the mature age of 8/9. This show will always hold a special place in my heart.
I hate to admit that I've never watched even a single episode of the show, but I've just now watched through the entirety of your video on the series, and I fully intend on taking some time out to watch it through. 😊
Hey Jordan! I feel it has been a privilege to hear you pour your heart out over this show. I Especially appreciated the interview with Craig Bartlett himself. Thanks for giving me a peak into a show that’s clearly been a huge inspiration to yourself and many others. I myself have dealt with addiction so the bit about chocolate kid was especially heartwarming. Hope this message meets you in good spirits. Peace.
I'm 4+ years clean off of heroin mostly. If your having a hard time....just KNOW its possible. I smoke weed and successfully stay off of harder shit. Dont be afraid to do your sobriety how it works for you. NA/AA and abstinence from everything completely....doesnt work for everyone!!! Good luck man!!!
@@kelsey2333 hey thanks for the vote of confidence kelsey, it means a lot that another addict would reach out like this in the comments. I'm doing well for myself now, filling my time with exercise, dancing, gaming, schoolwork, and quality time with friends and family. I'm back in college and clean as a cucumber. I'm glad to hear you're doing well too Kelsey!😎
I remember Helga confessing to Arnold in the first movie being so big, that they outright spoiled it in the little promos they did but under a guise of everyone going "nah it can't be real, it's like a dream she's having isn't it?" And nope, she full on did. Good on her.
The movie ruined the lore for me. Part of Arnold's world was being an orphan. And he shouldn't have liked Helga in return until they were older and she grew out of bullying him.
@@jbear3478if you are talking about the Jungle movie I agree. The comment above is about the 2002 movie confession which was great. I prefer the first movie and Arnold remaining an orphan was how it should have ended.
In awe of this video! Fun fact: the only 3 episodes produced after Hey Arnold!:The Movie were April Fool’s Day and The Journal parts 1 + 2. This means April Fool’s Day is the only episode in the show where Arnold interacts with Helga and is fully aware of her feelings, adding to their dynamic in that episode, especially with Arnold’s flirting. Great to see such a great retrospective of my favourite show layered in with an interview with Craig ❤
Growing up in Iraq in a country full of war, with barely any role models or someone to teach me about being a good person, I had always wondered where I got my morals from and when I watched your video... at the beginning I didn't think I would remember much of the story if any at all but I started tearing up and realised that I do remember every single episode, though I watched this when I was 8-9 years old and now I am 26. Every single episode is so memorable and I now know that I remember a lot more than I think and that this show was one of those that had such great impact on my personality. I had a unibrow, and especially the episode when Helga plucked hers, she helped me fulfill a dream I had without even knowing it. People would make fun of me almost my entire childhood. Seeing her embrace herself and being embraced by her friends made me feel embraced and empowerd me to be confident no matter what others said about me. I no longer wonder why I always want to do the right thing even if it might hurt. I love this show, I love your channel and how you talk about Hey Arnold. Thank you for reminding me
Just letting you know that I absolutely crave more longform content like this in general. This has been extremely wonderful to watch and listen to through the past few days. Definitely hoping you do more things like this!!!!!!!
The Christmas Mr. Hyunh episode will forever be one of, if not the best episode of an animated show of all time to me. So much is told in such a short time and yet it feels so detailed and REAL. Because it surely has happened at some point to someone in some way and it is so relatable and evokes a real feeling of empathy. Even as a kid I felt it.
I used to LOVE Arnolds room (Still do) and as I got older I realized it was the PERFECT bedroom for a teenage-mid 20s stoner. Definitely all time semi-realistic bedroom in cartoons.
In a world where less than 60 second videos are king, this is absolutely special. There is an undeniable love that you have for this show. You should be extremely proud of this video. I wasn't a subscriber before but now, I have to just based on your dedication to such an amazing show .
I’m 4 hours and 15 minutes into this and I’m hanging on your every word. This series means so much to me. Thank you for taking all the time to do this. Thank you.
Good lord Jordan! A nearly 7.5 hour video! That's dedication and shock! Personally I don't blame you. Hey Arnold! was, is and forever will be that rare show that just captivates audiences with an iron grip!
Thanks! Edit: wow this is everything I could have asked for in a Hey Arnold deep dive. Truly great work, Arnold was always a role model for me growing up, its warming to see it done justice.
@@JordanFringe94 You earned it 100%, the fact that you would show appreciation for my support after providing 7+ hours of well-made content (plus all of the other Hey Arnold deep-dives, of which the Helga one specifically brought tears to my eyes) is really above and beyond. I hope you continue to enjoy creating.
Being a 96 baby who grew up on alot of the shows you talk about, this video was heart warming revisiting a staple of my childhood in such a detailed way, to be able to revisit the series while I am working and hear your voice narrate the story lines and archs was something i dont get to do often with other series i would love to get into or even revisit from my life schedule. I am here for these videos and as someone who never caught the 2nd movie, it sounds absolutely wonderful and to hear you discuss with our hero the creation he has and stil is making is a miracle. Thank you for doing this, and please rest, and if you ever do deep dives like this again I am all here for it but never force or push yourself, the video can take its time from cooking to just simmering but thank you Jordan for doing this. I feel like I owe you a dinner or something after these 7 and a half hours.
6:44:24: Craig healed a wound I forgot I had. I was so hyped for the episode about Arnold's parents, but was so disappointed about the way it went and the lack of progression on that front. The Jungle Movie gave me closure, but Craig letting us know why they did the episode that way healed my inner child's heart. Also, "for the kids" made me smile, because we're in our 20s and 30s now ♥️
I thought the movie was good I just wish they would reboot the show given to how his parents were found and felt disconnected. They could have good episodes in the reboot.
I grew up on a suburbia in Brazil. I remember everyone was expected to always take advantage of others when viable, but my brother and I always did the right thing, with honesty. I never realized how much Hey Arnold inspired our attitude until I started to watch this. Heck yeah, Arnold was awesome.
Man I found myself welling up a bit today listening to certain parts of this video. I listened to the entire thing while at work and on my way home. Thank you so much, fam.
This is my favorite show of all time. I love the art style, the characters, the stories, and the adventures that Arnold and his friends embark on. This show is filled with wonder, and it inspires me to see the beauty in everyone and everything. We need more shows like this today!
I’m usually a fan of your videos, but this takes the cake. Hey Arnold IS arguably one of the most impactful shows in my life so this is just perfect in every way
Wow, in retrospect almost every episode of this show was well written and memorable. What a work of art. Also mad respect for making this 7+ hours, very well made
I’m young, and I didn’t grow up when hey arnold was first aired. But I’ve grown up with streaming services, and my dad has been showing me this cartoon since I was pretty young, so it has a special place in my heart. I don’t often see this show get the attention it deserves, and I’m so glad you’re doing it. Excited to watch this video man, great work so far.
I've seen a few videos about how/why Hey Arnold! is the greatest show of all time, or whats so special and unique about the show. But this is definitely the most comprehensive video on the topic, even if many people share these opinions. It definitely is a special show. I did grow up with it by the way, but I got so much more out of it when I watched it again as an adult.
Hey Arnold will always be that iconic 90s nick show, that will always resonate with you the most, no matter how old you get. It had so many concepts and subject matter, that most shows today barely touch upon, the best thing about Hey Arnold was that it never "tried" being relatable, it WAS relatable to so many kids back then, and still is today! Hey Arnold will always be my favorite nick show of all time, from the opening and ending themes, to Arnold's interactions with his friends and family, to the morals it taught in each episode. It's a certified classic.
I have vivid memories of watching Hey Arnold in my grandmother’s living room and drinking Welch’s grape juice in the early 2000’s when I was little. The one episode that I remember the most is the heat wave one. Such an underrated show
this video is such a treat. i love how you had craig bartlett on here talking about his experience creating the show and the reception it still receives to this day. even though it's over 7 hours long i am already on my third re-watch. thank you jordan, and thank you craig for the memories!!
Not even 1 hour into the video but I'm gonna take a moment to appreciate your dedication, especially on getting to interview Craig Bartlett. Amazing stuff.
Seeing a creator talk about their art, especially to someone who loves it so much, is one of the most precious and beautiful things. It’s great you got Craig Bartlett on this! Thanks for this video, loved every second of it. ❤️
Man this was amazing my dude, I been watching this since the time you released it and this took me a while to watch, godlike video my dude! And it was so dope to have craig on it too, super awesome stuff man! Doin gods work man! My favorite episode is definitely chocolate boy, that one just goes so hard
I just finished this, and I am BLOWN. AWAY. Hey Arnold is my all-time favorite, and going through this video really reminded me of how strong my connection was to this show & what it meant to me. Thank you for making this -- your hard work has not gone unnoticed! 🖤
I came back to this show in my mid 20s and it had me hooked by the first episode. I hadn't watched it since I was pretty young and I'm so glad I came back to it. The characters and situations feel so real even when the scenarios are wacky because the emotion shines through so much. I really can't describe while I love it so much but thank you Mr. Fringe for giving us a 7 hour video on the topic, I will definitely enjoy it.
I gotta admit, the hat episode hurts. I lost my dad when I was 9, and it's always been something I struggle with. Losing something that represents someone you lost that's a vital part of growing up is honestly traumatic. Also: Arnold's grandma reminds me of my own grandma. Gotta love the terrifyingly cool BAMFs old woman representation.
This is possibly one of the greatest love letter videos to a franchise that I have ever seen! You have truly inspired my lazy butt to get up and start making content. Your passion and dedication to making/undertaking such a monumental video is EXACTLY what I love about your journey. I have seen numerous times through your creative journey how you have done something with your videos that will propel you t0 the heights of the other big name content creators in the animationsphere. KEEP.UP.THE.GREAT.WORK!!!!!!!
This was a fantastic trip down memory lane for me. I was 7 when this show came out, and I got to grow up in Queens with these kids on my TV (I definitely thought it took place in *my* city, only finding out recently that it takes place in Washington). Thank you so much for doing such an incredible job, and documenting everything in such a way that this show deserves. No stone left unturned, and making sure everything is finished. You're an absolute legend. This should go down as the definitive Hey Arnold documentary. Full stop.
I don't remember why I subscribed to you initially, but you know what, this video popped up on my feed and Hey Arnold! is my favorite show of all-time too. Thanks for having good taste.
I cannot believe I finished 😭 this video has been my go to for the past 2 weeks whenever I had free time and it’s honestly been such a joy. Kudos to you Jordan for working so hard on it!!
I used to watch the show in Ukraine in the late 90's and early 2000's and it definitely made me a better person. More caring, honorable and generally decent. Thanks from the trenches, Footballhead! And thanks for this 7-hour essay, man.
My God….a 7-hour documentary on Hey Arnold……what a time to be alive. 😌 Well done man. 😉 I completely agree that almost every assertion you’ve made about this series. It truly is one of the greatest works of art ever made. It absolutely had a profound affect on me growing up, and I still enjoy it regularly as an adult. 👍👍
A 7+ hour video about my favorite cartoon of all time?! Yes! You're dedication knows no bounds Jordan! Thank you for making a video about something you're so passionate about.
I love it when UA-cam creators make something they truly want to make, the way they want to make it. I’ve been really enjoying watching a bit of this every day when I find myself thinking “I wanna watch something before I go to sleep. Something chill.” 💚
Thanks! thank goodness for pause and resume! I think that video took me two weeks to completely watch it, but it was so much fun doing so. :-) Great job! 🏈🎷🐷💛
Thank you so much for the kind words and extra level of support, truly means a lot! It was a massive video but I appreciate you making it the whole way!
i'm a 2003 kid, but grew up watching this regardless and absolutley loved it. found it when i was around 8/9 years old (the age the gang is when the show starts) and instantly connected to helga. was glad that they never justified the bullying but did understand it, especially with the episode of the therapist, its exactly when i started receiving therapy as a kid and it meant a lot to me
Multiple hour long reviews/ retrospectives of old media has become my favorite genre of videos in the last year. Not sure what that says about me, but I'm here for the ride.
I woke up sick today and can't go to work, so this was perfect timing for a 7 hour video 😂. Hey Arnlold was one of my absolute favorite shows as a kid, and one I still think holds up really well today, and is fun to rewatch and pick up on things that went over your head as a kid. And I'm struggling to think of any other kids shows at the time that depicted childhood in a *city* so well. It was one of the only times I can remember feeling like I was seeing my childhood on screen, and it definitely resonated with me and a lot of my friends. I also love how gentle and kind Arnold is, it's great to see a male protagonist be in that kind of role.
Hi Jordan, I just finished watching/listening to this massive love letter of yours while I was working this week. I grew up watching Hey Arnold and forgot about it over the years. It was such a great refresher on the series by watching this video. Watching this makes me want to go back and rewatch the series as an adult and watch all these moments in the series that I never understood as a kid but can now that I am older. I love that you made this video dedicated to something you love, I respect that. Also you have been a beast since December, take it easy champ
7 hours?! Holy moly. I can't blame you, Hey Arnold is one my favorite shows of all time. To see the length of video just shows how much you truly care deeply about it. Big respect to you Jordan.
I just love the show because it is not just stereotypical blend of characters. over time EVERY characters' story is told eventually and you can see why they act the way they do and this was so amazing to watch.....waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaait...7 hour video?! good thing I have popcorn 👍
Watched this while at work, and I must say.. you kept me thoroughly entertained the whole day. This show definitely gives me a lot of nostalgia! Thank you for the deep dive, I learned a lot of interesting stuff I had no idea about. This show makes me miss the 90's so much lol
I never thought of Hey Arnold as a FAVORITE cartoon as a kid but was plenty happy with it, and later on as an adult kinda just stopped thinking about it. But 20 years later, it is stunning how I actually remember all of these episodes, and they all had a pretty meaningful impact in one way or another. A+++ work both on this vid and the show in general.
Such a great deep dive! Loved this show when I was in elementary and middle school. So many characters, lines, and moments affected me growing up. And getting the last movie some years ago brought me right back. It was so cool you got to talk to Craig Bartlett about all the topics you brought up - great questions!
I have been on UA-cam for years and I've never ever seen a 7 hour video. This is amazing! The fact you made a whole documentary!!! Brilliant ! This is something that Nickelodeon should be doing. This is truly beautiful. Thank you!
I think the veteran's day episode was the most important one for me. It was aired during a time where America was starting to grieve and talk about Vietnam and the reflections of Arnold and Gerald reflect the nation's attitudes of WWII and Vietnam.
i'm 26 and I just want to say that thanks to your video, I went ahead and rewatched all of Hey Arnold. And I gotta say, I didn't know that there was a movie about Arnold's parent. Like many kids back in the day, after the show ended I thought it was it. But wow... After watching all 5 seasons and the Jungle Movie, my heart was full man, it was like I went back in time and fixed something that was missing. That last scene when Arnold's parent said "We'll be waiting right there" Then Arnold look at them and smiles, it was so good. There are so many things that Craig Bartlett did on this series that is so respectable, the fact that Hey Arnold! is about a white kid, living on a boarding house with his grand parents and a bunch of people coming from all over the place, having their own struggle in life but always doing everything they can to live together. The different mix of ethnicities, the different though subjects like mental health, bullying, depression, death. All of this on a kids show. Incredible. This series will always be one of my favorites. I hope that we'll get new seasons of the show one day despite Craig Barlett's age or whatever.
I've been chipping away at this video in little chunks over the past week. Had to take a break because, while I couldn't really wrap my head around just how heartwarming it was when I was a kid, seeing it now, the Mr Hyunh Xmas episode has me crying like a baby. The fact that I have a daughter of my own now and that I absolutely feel torn at the idea of having to give her up to guarantee her a better life may or may not have something to do with it.
Jeeeesssuuuuss. Thank you for this. This show doesn't get the credit it deserves, i feel. Arnold really needs a 7hr full love letter like this. And you nailed it
this was one of the most beautiful pieces of media ive ever encountered! as someone who grew up not knowing abt hey arnold, only rly recognizing arnold and helga’s character designs but not even being aware they were from the same show, the immediate love and appreciation you have for it and became apparent as soon as i clicked on this video made me watch all 7 hrs and 23 mins of it. i am now a huge hey arnold fan!! i love the details that went into your script and all of the little moments you made sure to highlight. i cried while learning about the birdman episode, i cried during the thanksgiving episode, and i SOBBED when learning abt both movies (helga’s compilation of arnold’s kind moments and arnold’s parents first words to him being hey arnold, in particular). watching this vid made me smile and laugh and love and appreciate the beauty that is having genuine kindness from within. if i was a kid when it show aired, i know i would have wanted nothing more to have a friend like arnold. he’s so inspiring and i think how he helped shape an entire generation is absolutely beautiful. getting to learn more insight from the creator of the show was SUCH an incredible bonus!! how cool that you were able to meet him! he seems like a very kind and humble and it just makes so much sense that someone like that is the creator of a character like arnold. throughout the entirety of this vid i kept feeling more and more amazed by just how deep this show went and the topics that they covered-i can’t think of a single cartoon that i grew up with that had something like this and i envy the generation that got to have arnold! nevertheless, thanks to dedicated creators like yourself, i got to meet that wonderful guy and grow to love him just like everyone else. truly, thank you for the unbelievable amount of hard work that went into this video. it is not only apparent but incredibly appreciated. i loved this video, and content such as this is the treasure im constantly searching for when i open up youtube! im off to watch hey arnold now, thank you so much :) 🤍
This might take me a few days to finish but I will do it. SpongeBob is my favorite show ever but Hey Arnold I feel is my actual best/favorite show. Has mature and realistic themes, cozy SOL feeling with hints of adventure, great cast of characters that it makes it a community, and an incredible soundtrack that perfectly compliments the show. I’ll stop talking about it since I’m sure you’ll have the same feelings and points that I would make but I just wanted to express my feelings on it.
Thank you for this video. Hey Arnold, in my opinion, is one of the greatest cartoons. Growing up in the 90s, I was a lonely kid who felt like an alien because of how everyone avoided me and bullied me (yay being ugly). Seeing all the happy families and happy friend groups in the media during that time was a nice escape, but Hey Arnold spoke to me on a deep level. As a dumb kid, I had no idea why I was crying so hard during a lot of the episodes, or why I felt such an attachment to the show. Looking back, it's a show that was brutally honest about life and showed that families are messy, and kids are cruel to each other, like in real life. It didn't speak down to its audience because it understood. Arnold struggling to find optimism, kindness, and hope in the world was like a lot of us when we were young. We didn't want to believe the world was so bad, even though it was, and we had hope that one day things would get better, and people were really good at heart. It was also the first time I experienced real fandom online. I remember Craig sharing ideas and pictures he drew about The Jungle Movie and The Patakis to us fans. I thought we would never see them, but we got The Jungle Movie just when we needed it the most.
Whoa 😳 Jordan, that’s one of the longest video you’ve ever uploaded. I mean 7 hrs just to do a Hey Arnold topic. It really shows that how much you have love and admiration for this show, and you got Craig Bartlett to be in your video. Awesome dude.
This was a pleasure to watch man. Hey Arnold was one of my favorite cartoons as a kid watching this gave me such nostagia. I respect and appreciate the time and love you out into this video. I just started to rewatch Hey Arnold on Paramount + because of you. Thank you.
I love this gem of a show. It's like a slice of life meets life lessons type of show and it makes me happy. Hopefully you're taking care of yourself after this monster blessing of a video Jordan.✌️
Haven't finished the video yet (I'm at 3 hours left atm) but I have to say it's very impressive and inspiring to see the such passionate work, from the Hey Arnold crew and you Jordan.
I loved this long form video. It was a major deep cut of nostalgia. I don't have many fond memories of my childhood, but this show is a small oasis of peace in my memory. Thank you for bringing this flawless gem up.
This is why I subscribed and will always come back to this content, like dude I love Hey Arnold like anyone else but whoa the dedication surpasses mine. Thank You Jordan
I have been having a really dark time the past few months and I just wanted to curl up and shut myself off by watching a show that is like a warm blanket and Hey Arnold was it. I was always in awe with this show all throughout my childhood in the ‘90s. But watching it in my 30s it’s like nothing I feel about the way I look at things has changed. It is so heart warming and taught me so much about life even as an adult seeing things through a kid’s perspective that this show remains a masterpiece for me. I will forever come back to this show time and time again until I feel like myself. I have been playing it in the background while I try to do chores and while I even cook. Even when I take a shower. Because it makes me feel safe. Makes me focus on the now. Gives me hope. And I’m very grateful for it. This video is a perfect companion for the show and you did an amazing job. Thank you ❤ Subscribed instantly.
It took me 3 weeks to finally finish this video and it was well worth it!!!! I cried a few times reliving the certain moments from the episodes that were tear jerkers and laugh and all the funny moments this was one of..if not the best love letters I've ever witnessed.Great job Jordan 👍🏾
Of course I watched all 7 hours! This was absolutely incredible! It’s now my favorite video on UA-cam. All of my thoughts and emotions about the show were captured so well. I was literally tearing up. I know making this had to be painful but damn it was so so so good!!! Thank you for doing this! The entire Hey Arnold community is so grateful ❤

OMG Jordan 7 hours here you go for your hard work🥇🏆👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿.
I wish other cartoons would explore these more Brooklyn-esque settings.
i think the PJs does that. i sort of liked thirdgoods bad luck it reminds me of my bad luck.
Yes I grew up in the inner city too
Yeah there aren't that many cartoons like this that take place in the city. I wish there were more like that but unfortunately it doesn't seem like its going to happen.
we pay for 2 1/2 hour long documentary movies yet Jordan gives us a free 7 + hour long documentary about a 90s cartoon . love you man
This was also on in the early 2000s.
A 7 HOUR video?! Good lord Jordan, that must've been PAINFUL to render! Your dedication is inspiring my dude!

I agree. Super long and great video.
@@PhanytomShadow hella long, and ima watch the whole thing 😈

You’re the man! Great analysis of a cherished show and it’s character. It’s hard to have a favorite character. I love them all!!
Freaking awesome. Two of my favorites show growing up.
Is he gonna watch the rest??? lol
@@smileyattitude6807 probably not, lol.
I looked up Greenberg hey Arnold and he was a write and story boarder and he stayed until szn 5 episode 17
A Asian guy singing Country music that was cool.
A 7 hour video on Hey Arnold was an unexpected, but very welcomed surprise.
A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one.
I thought it said 1 until I saw your comment
I'm a trucker and I have an 8 hour drive ahead of me and this will be my entertainment for the drive
Kudos for putting such a massive video!!!

Godspeed!
I own the complete series on DVD and still hearing it as an adult, the closing credits still make me sad when the first note starts.
same. now as an adult if i cant sleep i just put on this show for background noise because it makes me feel safe and just at home. ill watch it until i fall asleep. i used to fall asleep to the show when i was little too so thats probably why i find so much comfort in having this show on🥰
This is beyond what anybody could ask for, you must love doing this.
You can say that haha Thanks so much for the extra level of support, it truly manes a lot!
@@JordanFringe94 Thank you for making great videos, it's obvious you put a lot of effort in.
I'm sorry. 7 HOURS OF VIDEO???????? I love you, THANK YOU
Helga is absolutely iconic. Even in her fantasies she keeps her unibrow. She has no shame and I love her dearly for it.
It's so relatable the mean girl bully in grade school often was the one who was in long term relationships in later school (like didn't remain single or turn into a highschool bully) and was definitely just struggling as a kid to deal with emotions
Get a Helga tattoo lol
Ha! I never realized this! Even though she's my favorite (and best character) in the show.
Not in the marriage episode
Helga is Legendary girl
Okay I remember this show on Teennick and 90's all That but I didn't watch Hey Arnold a lot
PIGEON man could have his own Netflix series
Sitting back, gonna relax and watch this 7 hour video; but Hey Arnold is also one of my fav shows growing up; amazing job so far of what i watched
Thanks so much man! Hope you enjoy 😄

WOW you're very lucky my mom never let me do any of that.Of course we live in boring Kansas so what does that tell you😂
Washington Heights checking in Same here man. This really nailed what it was like growing up in New York
I hate to admit that I've never watched even a single episode of the show, but I've just now watched through the entirety of your video on the series, and I fully intend on taking some time out to watch it through. 😊
Glad that you enjoyed the video enough to give the show itself a chance! And thanks for the extra level of support, I truly appreciate it!
Peace.
Appreciate the kind and supportive comment! Thank you so much! Hope all is well!

I love that his grandfather called Arnold by his last name throughout the entire series, but to the audience it just seemed like a term of endearment.
I am one of the people who just thought it was a term of endearment.
My cousin calls me shortdude
Shortman❤
I have no idea how, but my dad and siblings always knew that his last name was Shortman

Your videos helped me fall back in love with this show. Having major heart surgery 2 years back, I got to watch the show over again.
Hope all is well since your surgery!
I remember Helga confessing to Arnold in the first movie being so big, that they outright spoiled it in the little promos they did but under a guise of everyone going "nah it can't be real, it's like a dream she's having isn't it?" And nope, she full on did. Good on her.
I saw it in the theatre..😂
@@Nicole-zh7plsame and I love hey Arnold
Thank you so much for the kind words on the video, I am happy you enjoyed it! Truly appreciate the extra support as well, I’m grateful!

I watch it for Christmas every year.
@@celinepope I saw it when it premiered December 18,1996.

Thank you for taking all the time to do this. Thank you.
Good lord Jordan! A nearly 7.5 hour video! That's dedication and shock! Personally I don't blame you. Hey Arnold! was, is and forever will be that rare show that just captivates audiences with an iron grip!

Edit: wow this is everything I could have asked for in a Hey Arnold deep dive. Truly great work, Arnold was always a role model for me growing up, its warming to see it done justice.
Thank you so much for the kind words and for the extra support!
@@JordanFringe94 You earned it 100%, the fact that you would show appreciation for my support after providing 7+ hours of well-made content (plus all of the other Hey Arnold deep-dives, of which the Helga one specifically brought tears to my eyes) is really above and beyond. Helga is everything! She reminded me so much of myself growing up. So well written. So multifaceted ❤
Well said.❤
Yes it definitely healed my heart as well. The kid in me needed that jungle movie.
I grew up on a suburbia in Brazil. I remember everyone was expected to always take advantage of others when viable, but my brother and I always did the right thing, with honesty. I never realized how much Hey Arnold inspired our attitude until I started to watch this.

That's a great dad to show this awesome cartoon series.
It took me a month of lunch breaks but I finally finished the video.
It was awesome that you were able to actually interview Craig Bartlett!
I have vivid memories of watching Hey Arnold in my grandmother’s living room and drinking Welch’s grape juice in the early 2000’s when I was little. The one episode that I remember the most is the heat wave one. Such an underrated show
Me too! I remember watching that in the early 2000s as well (minus the grape juice)
I always watched Hey Arnold at my grandparents' house too. They loved the show just like I did!
this video is such a treat. i love how you had craig bartlett on here talking about his experience creating the show and the reception it still receives to this day. even though it's over 7 hours long i am already on my third re-watch. thank you jordan, and thank you craig for the memories!!
Early in the videos you nailed down the feeling I was looking for, its human.
Full stop.
I’m a simple man. When Jordan makes a 7 hour video on one of the best 90s/00s cartoons of all time, I watch.
I don't remember why I subscribed to you initially, but you know what, this video popped up on my feed and Hey Arnold! is my favorite show of all-time too. Thanks for having good taste.
Honestly I forgot how much Hey Arnold impacted me as a kid and I caught myself kinda choking up at this video good work Jordan! ❤️
It’s my favorite show too. Looking forward to watching this later
I love it when UA-cam creators make something they truly want to make, the way they want to make it. I’ve been really enjoying watching a bit of this every day when I find myself thinking “I wanna watch something before I go to sleep. Something chill.” 💚

Curly's monologue in False Alarm has forever been stuck in my head. I love it so much
i'm a 2003 kid, but grew up watching this regardless and absolutley loved it. found it when i was around 8/9 years old (the age the gang is when the show starts) and instantly connected to helga. was glad that they never justified the bullying but did understand it, especially with the episode of the therapist, its exactly when i started receiving therapy as a kid and it meant a lot to me
Multiple hour long reviews/ retrospectives of old media has become my favorite genre of videos in the last year.
Damn dude a video this long must have been tough. Props. Mad props.
7 hours?!
Thank you!
Look up berserk super cut
Greatest 7 hours I've binged in a long time! Great job Jordan!
I did not expect a 7 hour video from you
Jeeeesssuuuuss. Thank you for this. This show doesn't get the credit it deserves, i feel. Arnold really needs a 7hr full love letter like this. And you nailed it
this was one of the most beautiful pieces of media ive ever encountered! as someone who grew up not knowing abt hey arnold, only rly recognizing arnold and helga’s character designs but not even being aware they were from the same show, the immediate love and appreciation you have for it and became apparent as soon as i clicked on this video made me watch all 7 hrs and 23 mins of it. i am now a huge hey arnold fan!! i love the details that went into your script and all of the little moments you made sure to highlight. i cried while learning about the birdman episode, i cried during the thanksgiving episode, and i SOBBED when learning abt both movies (helga’s compilation of arnold’s kind moments and arnold’s parents first words to him being hey arnold, in particular). watching this vid made me smile and laugh and love and appreciate the beauty that is having genuine kindness from within. if i was a kid when it show aired, i know i would have wanted nothing more to have a friend like arnold. he’s so inspiring and i think how he helped shape an entire generation is absolutely beautiful. getting to learn more insight from the creator of the show was SUCH an incredible bonus!! how cool that you were able to meet him! he seems like a very kind and humble and it just makes so much sense that someone like that is the creator of a character like arnold. throughout the entirety of this vid i kept feeling more and more amazed by just how deep this show went and the topics that they covered-i can’t think of a single cartoon that i grew up with that had something like this and i envy the generation that got to have arnold! nevertheless, thanks to dedicated creators like yourself, i got to meet that wonderful guy and grow to love him just like everyone else. truly, thank you for the unbelievable amount of hard work that went into this video. it is not only apparent but incredibly appreciated. i loved this video, and content such as this is the treasure im constantly searching for when i open up youtube! im off to watch hey arnold now, thank you so much :) 🤍
Here from The Yak! Nicky truly doesn’t miss…Great content man!
Thank you!
Thank you.
Tino From the Weekenders' 🛏️ Bedroom was pretty damn SWEET too,
it's def a close match in terms of "coolness" with Arnold's Room.
I love the dedication to do a seven hour video and not do chapters. That’s a way to filter the true fans. Your a legend!
Call me childish but I giggle every time I hear “Move it, football head!”
This is why I subscribed and will always come back to this content, like dude I love Hey Arnold like anyone else but whoa the dedication surpasses mine. Thank You Jordan
I’ve watched this series more times than you can imagine, this truly is a love letter!
Just starting, but man is this a masterpiece of a video. I can feel the genuine love for the series
Same here. This video got Arnold to work his magic on me and get out of my funk
