Thank you! We appreciate your support!!

I adore this movement of the trio. There is something really scary about it. Absolutely thrilling. Pure energy.
Classical Metal.
Shostakovich invented the drop.
An Humble Messenger of the Law of One pretty sure that was Bach, and remember that these were written around the 1950s and 60s, when modern music started to arise. But yeah, one hell of a drop.
That's a very different rendition of the passage he quoted in the 8th quartet! It sounded completely fanatical there, while spooky and dance like here.
This is an earlier work.
This trio kicks asses
This piece made me start playing cello lol
Dude, I'm not sure I've ever seen any one rock out this hard in my life, and I go to metal shows all the time.
Oh and on a side note, Shostakovich definitely recycled a few parts of this for his 8th quartet...
it was the point I think he referenced a bunch of his old work in that
@@MMenyan There's a handy word for that you might already be aware of- "recapitulation"
My favorite modern example of that is from the band "Between the Buried and Me", in their songs "Specular Reflection" and "Extremophile Elite"
Loving those final piano chords... They surprise me every time
LOL I didn't know other people call him Shosty! XD
The fact that the cello player is truly Hauser from 2Cellos is so cool
4:58 when you have a Jewish wedding at 6:00 and a punk concert at 6:30
The best part starts around here 4:50
i just noticed Stjepan Hauser is the guy who is in 2Cellos.
Lovely controlled madness.
Goosebumps at 49 seconds. Every time.
the fastest version that I have ever heard, but sounds good
Shosty played slightly faster I think, but less heavy
The 8th quartet 'quotes' the melody from this trio. Shostakovitch referred to that quartet as an 'autobiographical' work.
I LOVE Hauser! He is truly a rocking classical musician!! :)
I want to play THIS!!!! thank you, your performance is inspiring!!!
btw- I like the eyes of the violinist... I don´t know why, but they absolutelly fit to this movement :) also I love the last seconds of this video, the moment of waiting for the right moment to finish... WOW ♥
Love how he recycles the dorian theme towards the beginning into the 8th String Quartet's 2nd movement. This time he just flaunts it around in such an confident way. I love it. Such a graphic musical idea.
Oh My God! Freaky coincidence just happened! I was looking up the cello version of "Smooth Criminal" which was preformed by Luka and Stjepan on a whim. and then I remembered that at some of the faculty at a music camp i attended played this piece, so id decided to look it up and ironically Stjepan was the cellist preforming in this video. Wow! This was amazing to listen to! what a coincidence! Hahaha. =D
I love this piece!
@sethlightking actually it's the other way around... the theme in his 8th quartet is derived from this trio.
the trio is an earlier work.
FANTASTIC.
Absolutely terrifying.
The Page Turner brought me here. Magnifico!!!!!
Wow! Very, very good! The fact that it is, perhaps, a tiny bit too fast (in my opinion) is compensated by the huge discharge of energy you generate!
In other words, congratulations! The three of you are very good musicians, and judging by your schedule, which can be seen on your personal site, you have a shiny future ahead of you.
I am not a religious person, but if I were, I would pray for your future success every single day!
I wish you all the best and the utmost success!
Oh god this comment feels like a time capsule what the fuck
Bloody Hell ye bro
He quoted some of this in his 8th string Quartet.
9:17 when it starts gives me goosebumps
Crazy Amazing.. thanks soo much*
Espectacular!!! es una hermosa pieza, y ellos la interpretan maravillosamente y con mucha energía.
Hot flue! They look like they're on fast motion!
Who hears a Hebrew melody here like one in Peter and a Wolf?
@prayformercy4 Yeah, the 8th quartet contains a lot of quotations from other pieces; he wrote it partly as a kind of "epitaph" for himself.
If I hadn't known Stjepan Hauser from 2 Cellos, I would've said Jim Carrey learned to play cello...!
Tantacrul
really great
Fantastico
Pat Bateman on the cello. What a wild performance!
The cellist is Hauser of 2cellos
the main theme is from his 8th qaurtet!
It’s the opposite. The 8th quartet quoted a ton of aspects from earlier in his life and this is one of them. This is op. 67 the quartet is op. 110
One must be a tad loony to properly perform any Shostakovitch piece in my opinion =] wonderful!
@sephiroth999999 Hi - I have to say I disagree with you (not on the "be successful" part) - I like is this tempo . I believe Shostakovich was trying to mimic the atmosphere of the Concentration Camps, and in my opinion it should constantly be pushing forward with the piece feeling as though it could spiral out of control at any moment, I used to play this, and I remember how much fun it was to race through to the end, although by the 8th minute or so my arms were killing me...
Bravo!! thank you
I see where Apocalyptica got their base for "I'm not jesus"
4:53
This makes metal redundant. Also: 5:55 sounds straight from Sacromonte of Joaquin Turina.
if i ever learn to play violin, this is the first thing i´m gonna try to learn
also does anyone have the sheets for the piece? im especially looking for the piano part
@jyseow yup, i knew, just stating in no particular order that the themes are the same
can anyone say 8th string quartet?
cello39mn 8th string quartet
rave!
@petitequinte That is just so remarkably creepy, no?
XOXOXXOxoxoxxoxoxxoxxooooo !!!!!
Could you inform me of what it's true purpose is?
this piece would be great to play on Halloween, i can just imagine witches dancing around a cauldron
Make-up on point
It will stand this speed but not the inconsistency.
this was first though, but of course you already knew that
Shosty isn't a Russian Sirname, so I think they wouldn't
@afields92 haha, that's like 4 hours
Am I the only one who thought this music is humorous? This is amazing nonetheless!!
@ciliaspippi RUSSIAN HERO.
who woulda thought to play the devils music in a church
elijahvalongo Shostakovich actually wrote this to commemorate his Jewish friend who had just died...
So its actually as far from the devil's music so it could be tbh
This piece is silly compared to Rachmaninoffs trio #2.
