It's weird to be able to tell someone that the album they made was probably my favourite album of the last year in a UA-cam comment, but here we are. I finally heard it a week or so ago and it was a revelation. Thank you for your art. Look forward to experiencing more of it going forward.
The way you write about music is so big, emotional, passionate, unique, it makes me jealous that I can't show my passion the same way you do, you're absolutely my favorite music creator ever
Just wanted to say that I really enjoyed this video having finished it at 6 AM. And also I wanted to thank you, you have this unique way of selling me certain albums that has led me to have some of my most memorable experiences this year. I frequently visit your "best album every year I was alive" video and walk away with a handful of albums that catch my interest each time, all of which I inevitable end up loving. And now you have so effortlessly sold me on your number 1 pick that after a long time I am genuinely so excited to dive into a project of that scale. All on the first day of my winter holidays were I felt a bit aimless on what to do.
Really love getting to watch these videos every year, theres just so much cool music that i either miss, never really consider to try or really never even heard of to begin with but your videos really make all of it just seem so exciting and essential to the year to the point that its feels like if i dont listen to it all (or at least try) then im really missing out, i also wanted to say that its really incredible how you are able to convey so well how you feel about music, your readings into each album and their themes and sounds are always so great even if the music varies greatly in genre and style, its actually inspiring to me, like when you mentioned how "the origin of my depression" from Uboa is what made you realize that you wanted to write about music, your writtings and opinions are what made me realize i should finally try to write about the art that moves me, although in my case it would for videogames and movies cuz i still have so many blind spots in music, but you get the point, thank you for the videos Boundo, they are always incredible, Merry Christmas if you celebrate!
last year i was stuck in a snowstorm for 2 hours, waiting outside for a bus to pick me up from school. i had watched your swans video, so i decided to throw on the first album of the post rock trilogy (the name escapes me right now). while that album i found great, listening to to be kind changed my life, and i give you all the credit for introducing me to it. now, a year later, i’m listening to gao the arsonist based off of your recommendation, and i have not felt this amount of fear listening to music since that snow storm, and i’m safe at home. i’m a huge quadeca fan, and this album really hit where i wish fmty hit, where songs like what’s it to him and guess who hit on scrapyard. thanks, boundo, for making insightful essays about the coolest music ever made.
Another boatload of new albums to listen to, recommended by my favorite music-content UA-camr. I love that so many others in the comments for this video are giving appreciation for the way that Boundo describes the music she is covering, it's for that same reason why I love every video of this channel. Boundo's videos have gotten me to listen to some of my favourite albums of all time like Deathconsciousness, something that I could not ever possible thank her enough for. I just started getting into Uboa because of Boundo's recommendations and as someone who also suffers from series existential levels of depression, that album really touches my soul in a way that only certian music like Deathconsciousness or Uboa's work can. Also the number 8 mention of Lux by Asleep Country, as someone who has sat through EATEOT and its fan projects in single sittings before and is fascinated in extremely long releases of music to listen to (*cough* Bull of Heaven... *cough*), just know that at least I am one of those crazy enough to listen to this 8 hour piece.
i just watched your entire swans video after finals last wednesday, and it was rare that something that long keeps me attentive the whole time; i like how you do things

This is one of the best music channels on all of UA-cam, your words and writing ability is so imbued with passion and love for this art. We have a very different taste in music with a lot of these smaller and diy band camp albums (I checked them all out) just not being for me, but with the releases here that I was familiar with we share a lot of the same thoughts I have also been saying this is the best year for music since I was born in 1999. one album that didn’t get NEARLY enough attention was the solo record Heavy Metal by Geese frontman Cameron Winter. Professor Skye did a video on it a couple weeks ago, album flew under the radar but genuinely album of the year material. Bob dylan / rolling stones-esque. give it a listen
Excellent list which I am, in fact going to be using as a suite of recommendations. In terms of personal year-end contenders for me that were not on here, two which come to mind immediately are bela's Noises and Cries, an entrancing, terrifying, truly sui generis mix of traditional Korean music, deconstructed club and death industrial of the Posh Isolation/Puce Mary school with some of the most ghoulish vocals I've heard in some time; and Heáfodbán's Blódwracu, a similarly idiosyncratic and haunting fusion of pagan anarchist neofolk, Natural Snow Buildings-esque drone-ambient and, most prominently, absolutely savage war metal. Been a good year for albums which confound reductive genre tags.
You have amazing music tastes idk how you know so much obscure shit but that i will be pretty when i die EP is fucking incredible I can't stop listening to it.

@BlueMarioGangsta I have listened magdalena bay album and vampire weekend recent albums. Last dinner party is my favourite because I listened to it mostly 40-45 since February on cd and vinyl especially acoustic and covers edition.
Treat it like a radio show, go into it and let it accompany you for as long as you want/need, and when you're done you can pause it and UA-cam will save where you were. I've only heard it front to back 1 time, that's just not what it's meant for imo
