I keep looking for a particular iteration of the Hello Calgary commercial. My brother and I made an appearance in it at Calaway Park on the log ride. To be "funny" we both dressed in white dress shirts and vests (we were in our teens). Had an amazing spray of water, then saw the cameras, but knew naught what they were for. Weeks later we saw ourselves on TV. Oh, if only we were rich back then and could have afforded a VCR. Memories. One day I'll find it (hopefully soon, as that had to be 40 years ago).
I wish global calgary would ditch their corperate cookie cutter image and go back to the local Calgary 7 image with prime time. 7 to 10 with late news at 10.
yyckjs many of the ones I heard on This American Life had the same singer as the Calgary version. I'd like to know more about who has the rights to the song and how they successfully marketed to so many places. How much money did they make?
YES. And of course, this is how I pronounce Calgary. "CAL-guh-ree," like in the song. NOT "Cal-GARE-y" or "CAL-gree." But "CAL-guh-ree." Like "FA-mi-ly."
Where are some pictures of the days form 1955-1980 when 2&7 was located at 955 Rideau road …………before you moved to off Barlow ? I went to sait 1980 -1982 one of our instructors Mr Hutchinson worked at your station He was involved in the move from 955 rideau road to the present location off Barlow . when I was in high school we used to dumpster dive for electronics parts at 955 rideau road … I 1982 I was supposed to work at 2 & 7 . I ended up gong to CTV Television delay center 1982-1989 I have scowered the net looking for any pictures from when the studios were at 955 rideau road , there is nothing for pictures of anything about the station at that time , which is odd since 1980 was not that long ago …… there are few articles of text mentioning it but no pictures .. or video or anything …. you should really have some pictures up from the archives if you have any , it is historic data , part of the history of Calgary and the network…

Amazing. Did some pin trading during the 88 Olympics. Still have mine. Sad I didn't get the 2 & 7 pins. Loved their station song.

I want my city back , ya sure there's a back and forth good and bad. I want my city back
This is when Calgary peaked. It was so nice and full of charm. Right before Ralph Klein sold out Alberta.
A part of my history....
Unfortunately 2&7 sold out to Global.

This song has been altered to fit over 1000 cities
