Yep seriously. I've had this figure in the box for months with the intention of taking it out once I get the proper shelf space for it. But the helmet REALLY bothered me. Glad I can fix it easily. A hair dryer will do the trick.

And Jango wouldn’t even require an entirely new mold. They could literally use this body with new legs and a new holster. Otherwise, Jango’s armor is exactly the same as Boba’s
Saw a lot of complains about the helmet, but blowing some heat always fix stuff like that. definitely needs more some weathering and a matted finish. This one is perfect for me.
Looks like the Mafex still reigns supreme, but when you factor its original price point and the fact that both versions are RARE and have tripled in price, Hasbro takes it. $30 at mass retail and the quality is this good? It’s insane what Hasbro is doing.

Judging by the fact that this body is so modular, I wouldn’t be surprised at all if we start seeing this base body mold used for reissues of ESB Boba and Jango, and future use as Mandalorian Boba, and potentially more TCW Mandos like Pre Vizsla.

Its now quite obvious now that i have seen it done. As far as the authenticity , correct colours go we aernt too bothered. Hes 8 years old and just happy to have a figure of Boba Fett after watching The Book of Boba Fett on tv. Im not really a Star Wars fan and my interest has been based on the fact that i went to school with Temuera Morrison back in New Zealand. I did join a Boba Fett Facebook page and lets say the experience has been rather amusing.
I wish they'd make revenge of the sith waves. They're so many jedi I still want. Also clone wars. I just got ventriss and bo katan and I love em but they are 100s of figures to be made from revenge and clone wars
Well we got a Attack of the Clones wave. So I would definitely think Episode 3 which is the most popular prequel Trilogy film will definitely get a wave or maybe a couple of wave s

Even though I own or have little interest in any given figure, I still watch these because Fwoosh has such a kind and entertaining voice. They make the reviews wayyyy more enjoyable.
Hey Robo, another great review, one thing I did want to mention though, is that I have the ROTJ Hot Toys Boba Fett, and the helmet and chest armor are different shades of green on that figure as well, so I’m not sure about this, but I think it’s actually Mafex that got this wrong. The Yellow on the Jetpack on the Hot Toys figure is closer to the shoulder pads also, but not an exact match. I guess the Hot Toys figure might not be completely accurate, but I have to think it’s closer than the Mafex, but who knows? Anyway again great review, as always.
He's almost perfect! He needs to be a bit taller, his hands look odd with that color, and his jetpack needs a different yellow. You could take it one step further and give him a cloth cape.
I'm hearing that now, that there was a hero helmet and one pieced together from the ESB for stunts and then the SE reshoots. Without being an absolute Boba Fett expert, all I can go by is memory and pictures and even a lot of those show same shades of green.
Yep when you check out the Dented Helmet forums website and read into that 501st website that Robo was referring to, Boba's helmet has always been a lighter colour to his corresponding chest, cod and kidney armour. That was the essence of his look that his armour was scavenged - the same way that was replicated by Mando

Something about those single jointed legs really bothers me, it’s like now the upper leg is slightly too long so when it’s crouched too much you can really tell. Also the select one is awesome and if they wanted to replace it they’d have to pry it from my cold dead hands(only my hands are dead in this scenario, right?) but without those weird knees this one would be something I’d consider picking up as a worthy contender.
For the same price, a 7 inch figure with shading, pretty much same amount of accessories and articulation, you have the Select version. Downside, no SW collection in the 7 inch scale
You should make a game stop membership you can preorder and they give you $5 a month. Although they don’t roll over you can use em on preorders and anything in the store for $15 a year not a bad trade

I have both the MAFEX versions as well, and I really thought black series would never touch those, but I'm reconsidering now. I definitely need to get my hands on this guy. I think that after fixing the helmet and adding a bit of paint to him, this figure will be a serious contender against the MAFEX ROTJ Boba Fett in my collection anyway. Odd design choices aside, black series lately has continually impressed me.
Hasbro almost nailed this figure from what I can tell. If they just added some shading on the jumpsuit and changed up some of the armor colors slightly I think this could be one of the best Boba Fett figures to come out. Kinda wish they skipped on the accessories and just put extra production effort into the paint.
here in México the cheapest you can get this figure is about $45-50, so when i found a couple days ago at only $30 i bought it and i'm happy with it, it's an amazing figure and it looks great next to my other figures
Great review. It seems once we get it in hand: Job 1: fix helmet, Job 2: repaint the yellow on the jet pack. On a similar note: you’ve commented in the past of using a matte on the shiny, printed black series faces. Do you use a brush or mask things off and spray?
Just got mine today, heated the helmet up and was amazed by the scult. It's pretty damn good to say the best and it's certainly better than the Figuarts. Especially for the price!
They’re clearly putting unhelmeted heads under helmets these days because they’ll eventually release versions where you can take the helmet off. And they don’t want to have to mold the head twice.
The fit is kind of weird, but one of few figures that genuinely does feel 'Deluxe'. Also, I pretty much just stole the Jetpack to slap onto my Figuarts Jango lol (not a fan of the arena pack)
The unpainted red digital readouts on his chest armor, on both this figure and the recently released new TVC figure, is such an oversight by Hasbro it’s maddening. I swear the people working there have to be the most incompetent workforce in the industry. For every one thing they get right, they get two or three things completely wrong....🤦🏻♂️. Good review as usual. Someday I may get this if or when Hasbro Pulse decides to fulfill their preorders. For some reason I haven’t gotten any of the recently released and available Black Series or TVC preorders from Pulse. 🤷🏻♂️
After seeing this review, I took a look at my SDCC Fett figure, and it made me realize how much better some (not all obviously) of the older Black Series are. One BIG thing, my Fett figure has a matte finish on it, which is SO MUCH BETTER than the glossy shitty finish they're doing that make modern figures look like toys rather than a small piece of art. We need less waxy gloss finishes and more matte finishes, which I would imagine is cheaper....get it together Hasbro.
Yes they come squished but some heat fixes that. I remember that your mando came with a weird helmet, makes me wonder if you fixed it with like this one.
I think the stripes on the side of his helmet are supposed to be yellow. It means “Hunter” or something like that. In the mandalorian he changes them to red and it means something like “redeemed.”

Thank you for the review. Impressed by the engineering of the figure but not with the execution. Spit shiny glossy grey jumpsuit really stood out like a sore thumb. Personally I think the og black series ESB Boba Fett is still the best Black Series version Hasbro has ever produced. Still will hope to pick one up when it do pops up :)

It’s already one of the best Boba Fett figure. For some, he’s the best because of the price and playability.
The reason the armor is green is because Boba just painted yellow and blue over the armor, making green.

Since i have an older version, did not wanted to buy it. But with new accessories I decided to get one before it becomes hard to find.
I cannot unsee the glossiness in the jumpsuit. I like the colors on the new jetpack it could complement the colors on the SDCC 2019 Boba Fett.
I like the idea of these new helmets, you can just take it off, put a custom head and then put it back on and voila!

If it wasn't for those dreadful knee joints it'd be perfect. I'd keep him in a standing pose.
Which is weird because single jointed knees usually look pretty good. Wish the knee pads moved with the lower leg.
Agree it look weird on the smaller VC186 ROTJ Boba, but it looks even worse double the size on this 1/12 scale... kinda unnatural

Heat gun was was awesome! I've seen others boiling the head and really struggle to remove and reshape the helmet. I'm doing it the Robo way!
Apparently you can use that flame effect for his wrist gauntlet and plug it into the jet pack missile.
