Regarding the language fears, when I was in Paris I learned to greet a person in the little French I knew, then apologize for my horrible French and asked if they could speak English. Almost always they would switch to English without an attitude because they were grateful that I tried and admitted my language deficiencies. You're correct that the French can be very difficult sometimes, but a humble attitude about my shortcomings, an apology, and asking for their "forgiveness" almost always worked and made my experience much more pleasurable! Very excited for you!!

I cannot explain how much I understand what you say and how you feel. I just came back from a solo trip to Korea and Japan which has been my dream since forever and although it was the best experience in my life, I couldn’t help myself thinking all the time how much better it would’ve been if I was with someone in all that amazing places I went.

I was screaming at you to buy the coat as it looks great and you will definitely be able to wear it often. Quick tip if it helps. Hang your clothes from the heated towel rail if you need them to dry quicker. Ugh, I cant wait to see what fabulous adventures you are going to have there!
