Wow! Such beautiful gifts from Dawn! She is a very talented artist!! Good luck with your appointment with your knee surgeon tomorrow! My daughter just had major knee surgery last Saturday. She had torn away every ligament and tendon in her right knee, including both meniscus and her ACL and PCL plus fractured the bottom end of her knee cap! She had been playing in their finals Volleyball game and winning! After making a fantastic block and earning a point, she came down at an angle and her knee took the direct hit to the gym floor and completely dislocated. Canada’s Medical System is completely broken down! Sadly, it took 2 months before she had her surgery! When she finally saw her surgeon, she had it 6 days later! Now, the very long road to recovery for her!! I just wanted to say if you are going to have surgery on your knee, look into getting an ice machine with the knee pad. This runs ice water temperatures continuously thru the hose and the pad covering the knee anywhere from 6-7 hrs. to nearly 24 hrs. depending on the machine you get. It helps manage your pain level tremendously plus keeps the swelling down and speeds up your healing! I used one on my lower back after major back surgery Nov 12, 2024 and I know of a few people that have also used these machines for their knee and shoulder surgery recoveries and swear by them!! The brand I used was the Polar Ice model. We used 4 frozen water bottles inside the cooler type container with the cold water rather than ice cubes. It stayed colder much longer and cheaper than having to buy ice or make ice. Just kept recycling 8 water bottles back into the freezer. My daughter is using two machines. One she has borrowed from a friend and places it over the top and sides of her knee and using my machine with the oval pad on the back of her knee so that all surgical areas are being kept very cold.
