  • Enjoying the last couple of flights before there are no more 1960s gauges. Come along as I fly a quick cross-country to KDHT for lunch.

The GI-275's are a great option without tearing panels completely apart. Not sure why more don't go with this option vs big 10"+ screens and costs many times over the 275's.

The 10” screens are beautiful but you are right. Way more expensive. I’m getting my Mooney back from the avionics shop soon and can’t wait to see the capabilities of the 3 gi-275s.

You made me hungry. No time to get food, I have to move a tractor. My next food flight is going to be to Toledo, Ohio to go to the place made famous by MASH, Tony Paco’s Hungarian hot dogs.

Looks like I’ll have to remember this. We want to do a Northeast run. Chicago and working our way east.

Love the video! My wife and I are looking to get a Mooney early ‘24. We also plan to go with Garmin in order to get the additional safety features of their autopilot and auto glide functionality. Are you planning to upgrade to the GFC 500 at all?

You’ll love the efficiency of the Mooneys for sure. We love ours. So I’m not going with an autopilot simply because it’s a lot of money for one. It’d be nice to have, but I don’t have an issue hand-flying as I fly with autopilot all week long at my job. Right now we just want the safety aspects of engine monitor and new “glass” which brings in a lot more confidence.
