  • A complete playthrough of Inscape and Gainax's 1996 PC simulation game, Princess Maker 2.
It really is a shame that this is the only one in the series to ever be translated into English. It's quite unique, posing you as a famous warrior directed by God to raise a child from age 10 to age 18, with all of your decisions regarding her education, work, and social skills ultimately playing a role in determining her life's path.
Think of it as SimCity mixed with Dragon Quest, and you're still way off the mark.
In this playthrough, the famous warrior Struthers takes on Sally, destined to become an ultimate badass who whoops the local townsfolk (piously), beats the War God, and eventually becomes the General of the kingdom's army... one of apparently 74 possible endings.

Wow, coming back to this video again, I had almost forgotten how amazing the soundtrack was!

Ah princess maker 2. Or as I like to call it, "Wife Husbandry: The Video Game" due to the first ending I got where the girl marries her father.

I love this game! And apparently, there seems to be a digitally enhanced version

"""enhanced version""" you mean the google translated version cuz the company who took care of the international steam release (and also switch release) doesnt use english speaking people to double check their edits for their own game, thus giving "unfamiliar people" an partway unecessary hard time when wording is inconsistent, and that goes for not only PM2 refined but ALL their translated games! Its hard to support those guys when the (originally ex-official) translation is basically perfect (the one you see in this video) but goes unused for unknown reasons.

@@Evilriku13I'll gamble on the switch version Dec 2023. Not sure it it's different but I'll try anyway

what a weird plot for a game...this seems eerily similar to Long live the queen. Except much better in that its an actual game and your character changes...and its from 96 O.o Wonder if they either remade it or made a sequel.

It is really weird, but the game is super addictive :) I believe they are actually on the fifth at the moment. I played this on an old pc, but it runs flawlessly on Dos box without any special settings, and it's easy to find a download (which I wouldn't typically recommend, but the game was never actually released despite being entirely translated and ready to go)

      Isn't that illegal?
2023 Edit: Boy, I was a stupid kid 6 years ago. And the DOS version is still the superior way to play this.

I suppose so, but when that comment was made 3 years ago, there wasn't a way to legally get the English version of the game since it was never commercially released until it appeared on Steam.

@@NintendoComplete too bad that this translation still is miles ahead compared to the "official released" one cuz this one is translated by people who actually understand english and dont use literally google translator to get their information across :/

@@NintendoComplete The issue is that this game is actually missing a few translated endings, they have problems according to online. Thats one of the only major issues with the DOS version
