- Well after a long two months, I’m back! Back with a new video that I think you are all going to very much enjoy haha. I am starting weekly uploads again, but have been painstakingly making this video happen. I wanted to make a good first video for my channel now that it has over 1,000 subscribers!! Thank you to all of y’all for making this possible!
Now I am very stoked to present this video to you guys. It’s been a long time coming. I was trying to figure out a way to present all of these trucks to y’all as they are indeed one of a kind, unique, and very cool. And this video is the perfect way to do this. In the vid you will see many different types of Garbage Trucks all from Waste Management. They are all very rare and some are one of a kind, custom trucks. It makes them even cooler knowing they are WM. Some trucks are old, some brand new, but every truck featured in this video are its own truck. Meaning there are no duplicates running anywhere else in the US that I know of. Except maybe the condor MSLs hahah.
I have full videos of most of these trucks, and have a few more gems I have yet to share with you guys. So please stay tuned, and comment below what your favorite truck was.

that sound is embedded in my head after working roll off dumpsters. WM would use that alarm even when picking up and dropping dumpsters. It got old real fast lol. Ill take the traditional beep beep
@@Mach_Style lol, I could definitely see it as an annoyance if it's repeated over and over again, I've heard it a few times before and to me, it's kind of like a quiet phone ringing.
@@Mach_Style It's made precisely to be annoying. Makes it safer when they're in the unloading centers and there's dozens of trucks moving around. It helps make sure people's brains don't tune them out when they're hearing them for hours

I worked for BFI for a little over a year back in the late 80s. Mostly in the shop fixing dumpsters, but got to do a couple stints on the back of a truck. Our garbage and recycling men and women have my respect and appreciation.
The "rarest" WM truck in my neighborhood, would be any of the ones where the driver gets out of the truck.
The rarest one in my neighborhood would be the one where they close the lid and don't leave shit all over the road.

Faster and if it's upside down it is less likely to blow away, collect rain and it is an obvious indication it was collected.

Wish my Waste Management branch here in Minnesota had residential trucks like these. Back in the 90's they had recycling trucks similar to 12:00, and in the early to mid 2000's they ran One Pass Collectors. The trucks they run now look similar to the one at 4:37 but with a slightly shorter body and an Autocar tandem chassis. Can't even tell the difference between the garbage and recycling trucks here.

Waste management separates glass from all the other recycle so all of the glass build up over time so the cart is full or has a lot of glass when they come and get it.

Congrats on 1000 subs! You found some really awesome old school WM trucks. Had no idea they still had recyclers and MSLs like that. That white MSL surprised me. Don't think they paint any of their trucks like that anymore. Look forward to the full videos.
Very nice compilation Issac, and congrats on 1k! I'm glad the Forest Grove yard bought Labrie experts that aren't CNG. Every single Condor here was spectacular! This video reminded of my Oakland, CA footage a few years back, seeing the Kann and Amrep MSL. Speaking of MSLs, my favorite had to be the Volvo Curbtender, looks like it was operating in a busy area; can't wait for a full video of that! The recyclers really pack some history for WM, considering they're what kicked off curb-sorted recycling many years ago. All of these trucks are in Oregon/Washington/Illinois, right? Now I know where I want to go next year. Awesome video man and way to make a comeback. Here's to another thousand subs!

This is some awesome content right here. You really threw in some unexpected finds! I must say that Forest Grove glass route looks pretty damn sick considering those 2 trucks you found on it. I can only imagine what else lives in that yard. Glad you could document those recyclers and that Condor Amrep MSL. Oregon is just full of surprises! Thank you for this upload, it kept me well entertained!

Great work Isaac! I really enjoyed the whole video, but what stuck out to me was the wxll curbtender mini msl, the condor wittke msl I REALLY liked!, and the condor amrep Octo msl reminded me of the great carbon copy trucks we had when I worked for the big green monster in the Bay Area. Ours were exactly the same, but they had a drop tag axle behind the rear axle. Ours were used on yard waste routes and up in the hills on trash (for a minute). I really liked those trucks. They were great to drive and for their size, could pack a good load of organics in them. Great job, like everyone else, I really look forward to the full videos of these trucks!

When I lived in SoCal we had Waste Management service. They are THE BEST! Three times a year they had a free "ANYTHING" pick up day. If you called them for a container replacement they were ON IT! They drove three kinds of trucks a week in my neighborhood: A Recycle. A trash, and a green waste. They were on schedule every week. Also, you could call them for a special pick up anytime in advance. It carried a charge, but was very handy. Up here in Oregon our service is for shit! The scenery is hard to beat, but I sure miss WM! A great company!

Wow that was impressive! Think it's almost time for me to retire since all the rarest, coolest, baddest and best WM trucks are up there apparently. So weird how Forest Grove is buying diesel trucks but I do like how they look with the non Think Green Think Clean logos. Truck looks good all clean too. Didn't know about that 320/Labrie, I'm so jealous how random trucks pop up in your yard. That Volvo WXLL is sick, pretty awesome how they cut the chassis down and made it into a mini MSL. Although the old body that was on it was pretty cool too. Glad you tracked down that ex-WM San Diego Condor Amrep MSL! Been hoping one of you PNW guys would. 150835 is one of the best trucks in the Forest Grove fleet. It’s a total mountain goat. I had that thing on some pretty sketchy, muddy roads on the Thursday minipack garbage route back in the day.

Some of those stops took a long time. Here we still have 2 people riding on the back and one driver. The standing while driving truck are cool.

2:33 Ironically enough, we have recycling trucks like this all over my city (Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario), and its pretty rare seeing anything else lol
Actually, we use then for recycling, not trash. We use rear loading trucks for garbage and probably yard waste too (Thought can't confirm thanks to being at school on Garbage Day most of the time).
Yeah, we have them too for recycling and we have side loaders that are a 25/75 split for compost and garbage here in Oshawa.
Those trucks seem so old fashioned. Where I live the recycle and trash containers are the same type of full size wheelie bin but different colors, with separate trucks for each. The trucks only have one person-the driver-who never gets out of the air conditioned cab because the hydraulic arm is sophisticated enough to reach out, grab the bin, dump it, then place it back on the sidewalk.

7:01 - I always like the front-loading (Dempster) units... In the residential area I once lived, they had a modified front-loader where the forks carried a small bin unit in which itself had a curbside-grab claw attached to it for lifting the squarecans...The claw mechanism ran off the truck's existing hydraulic system with a few extra controls and a viewer installed in the cockpit... The entire bin assembly, and the hydraulic/electric couplings for the the claw and camera/viewer could be completely disattached if you needed the truck for commercial Dumpster duty again...

That first freightliner cab over side load is what they need to design for over the road truckers. Something you could stand up and drive to keep drivers healthier! Give the option to stand or sit

We all know who we have to thank for this wonderful recommendation.
All the WM trucks in our area of SoCal have long arms so the truck can pull up beside a parked car and grab a barrel against the curb in front or behind the car. Many also have electromagnetic brakes so there is no rapidly wearing out of brake shoes or drums. The driver also never has to get out of the truck.
2:21am... Delving deep into UA-cam. Into a side of which perplexes me... Takes my brain and twists it into a shape no one can convince me is natural... Not because it's taxing on the mind, because it's something that reaches so far out of my normal content consumption that I'm wondering how I even pondered upon an 18 minute video on garbage trucks.
