The grandaddy of all Dreamworks movies Shrek gets 2 thumbs up from Roger Ebert and Richard Roeper. There wasn't a kid I knew growing up that didn't think Shrek was awesome.
I saw an early release of this movie as a kid with my family. Made a big impression on us at the time, and its lines even still occasionally pop into my head every now and again.
Its scary how often they predict the future accurately. Subversive cartoons like Family Guy, Rick and Morty, and Bojack Horseman are so popular. Kids don't want things that look like traditional animation anymore, all the adults do it instead.
YEAH, I WILL ALWAYS LOVE THAT MOVIE 🎥📼📀 CALLED "SHREK" WITH THE VOICE TALENTS OF: MIKE MEYERS, EDDIE MURPHY, CAMERON DIAZ, & OF COURSE, JOHN LITHGOW, BY THE WAY. I LOVE THAT MOVIE, MY FRIEND. 😉☺😃😊😄👍👍👍👍👍
Did Mike Myers went back into Austin Powers shape with the original Shrek movie before he appeared in the third and final Austin Powers movie called Goldmember? But, was the original Shrek movie was mentioned in Spin City, Boomtown, Las Vegas, I Love You Man, Real Steel Delivery Man, and The Girl on the Train?
Hard to believe this film is now 20 years old now, when big difference with Dreamworks animated that you won't get with Disney animated movies, is bad language in the movie, which means characters swearing in the movie. Shrek was the first animated movie to win the best animated feature film award at the next Oscars, but only very few Dreamworks movie won the award, as it is PIXAR that almost always wins with some exceptions.
@@ingridbrandt7710 It’s not even just the animation The movie is directed so well There’s so many beautiful images and the music (original theme and soundtrack) are exceptional
Roger gave this movie 4/4 Stars.

Man of culture

20 years later, it is now in the NATIONAL FILM REGISTRY
As it should be
What’s that
@kavid8120 It's a a historical archive in Washington under the National Library of Congress that honors historical films and series
@@ahmadalmaiman8600 I didn't know they did that. That's cool

Siskel didn't live to see Shrek ;(
This movie is now 20 years old
It definitely is. Even though though time flies but still this movie is timeless.
I’d like to say I’ve loved shrek since I was 4 years old
And I still do at 18
It’s a masterpiece I knew it then and I know it now
My Favorite Movie growing up
Shrek kicks ass.

I am sick of people saying "they predicted it". Its not a prediction if people keep talking about it :P
Okay nah, family guy, south park, the simpsons, AND Futurama were all on tv at this point. It was already the wave before Shrek came in.
great classic review of shrek one of my favourite movies and loved seeing it in 3D in cinemas
Completely agree! Love Shrek, one of my favorite movies! Also do you have some of their reviews after 2001?
I plan on uploading more Siskel & Ebert and Ebert & Roeper reviews in the future. If I can find any reviews after 2001, I’ll be sure to upload them!

Also Disney.
This movie is the most hippest film ever.
0:45 He tried to summon Shrek
On the home release of the film, it uses the digital presentation similar to Pixar's.
this one's for Scott Tobias
HEY, BUDDY. I CAN UPLOAD THE 1996 BLOCKBUSTER FILM "ERASER" WITH ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER 4 YOU. IF YOU LET ME, OF COURSE.
