That’s such a nice thought that the trees have been watching people for that long.
Nah that's just the Vietnamese
💛💚💜 They probably think man kind is in trouble. Haha jk
It'd actually 9 shioris made me smile along with the sound as she was copy pasted 😅
I hope the giggles were as plentiful when you were editing that, as mine are watching it on repeat!
I love the idea of gods powerful enough to protect you but not so powerful that they couldn’t actually do it if you didn’t tell them your actual address. Feels more realistic.
The Kumano Kodo is awesome, there is one point where you are just coming over a mountain and you get a perfect view of the massive tori gate from a distance, and then hike down to see it up close. I can't recommend it enough.
6:25
Me: pffftttt that torii gate doesn't look _that_ big
Emma and shiori: _keep walking_
*Suprised Pikachu face*
I walked the Kumano Kodo in 2018 from Takijiri to Nachi as a solo traveller with only a smattering of Japanese above basic level. Highly recommend it. I also highly recommend the tourism bureau's services. They really did make it easy for me. All accommodation and food was arranged for me (including bentos for each day). Even though I was hiking solo, I met some great people and was never without company if I wanted it.
The hike was not the easiest I've been on and that last day is physically demanding but I think it's achievable for reasonably fit people (you probably want to give yourself plenty of time for the last day where you walk up 4km of steps in one go though). The scenery is amazing and very serene. Getting views of the giant Tori as you hike down from the mountains is amazing and puts it all into perspective. Finishing at Nachi Taisha is amazing. Nothing like getting a beer and ice-cream at the finish. I'd love to do it again but I don't think it would be as great as the first time I did it.
A nice welcome from the kitty cat 😸🥰
SUCH A GREAT CAT
I miss Japan so badly. I walked the Kumano Kodo in 2019 (but the Ohechi instead of the Nakahechi).
Tanabe has a big place in my heart, I can't wait going back to Wakayama.
PS: Don't forget the stamp-book. You can get stamps along each route and collect them all ;-)
I understand completely. I was supposed to be there last March/April. Best wishes on your journey to Wakayama!
One day, we will return. ❤️🇯🇵
I live vicariously through Emma's joy
the friendship between you two is so dang cute. please stop it. thank you in advance
omg the timing is unreal!! Just made tea and saw that you uploaded! my day just got 100% better❤️
Ooo I hope you enjoy your tea!! ❤️
@@TokidokiTraveller thanks so much for replying 😁 i finished my tea halfway through the video so i had to grab a snack lol! this vid was insanely high quality!
Omg snap! 😂 definitely the best video to watch with a tea ☕️
@@LucyKeed i know right! especially when you feel like doing nothing too lmao! just watching vids from the tokyo creative bunch on a lazy day is the best
凄いですね!On my first trip to Japan, my friends and I hiked the section of the Kumano Kodo from Hongu Taisha to Nachi Taisha (3 nights, 4 days). It was our first true experience of the Japanese wilderness and staying in a traditional ryokan (including sampling Kaiseki Ryori). The last day was the hardest, but the feeling that washes over you as you cross the mountain range and descent into Nachisan is indescribable. I hope you're able to get back there!
2:03 well HemYO to you too!
Hemyowww!!!
Best moment: 6:24
Emma: What‘s this one called?
Shiori: Oo-yu-no-hara
Me: Noo-i-dunno-hara
I love it ❤️😂❤️
I was watching some kittie videos suddenly left the video after I got the notification of ur video .
U made my day
You... you chose me over kittens?? 😧
@@TokidokiTraveller I do feel bad for the kitties though
7:22 soundcloud rapper Emma when 😂🥳
AKAKumano Beats: sick rhymes, all the time :P That place looks breath taking btw, thank you Emma for showing it to us!! xD
when editing emma voiced over recorded emma perfectly
That waterfall is so beautiful!! ♡ ♡ ♡ The tree you go through at the end is very cool. What a neat area!
This hike would be a great experience to reconnect with body, mind and soul; something I've been wanting to do
Hiked the Kumano Kodo a few days after arriving in Japan for the first time, approx. 11 years ago, and it was amazing! Watching this brought back so many memories. 10/10 recommend and I hope I can do it again one day as well.
I’m watching this with a cup of tea and Kumori and Yuki, my two cats 🐱🐱
Thank you for keeping us connected to Japan even while we can’t be there. I know it’s personally been keeping me going until I can move over next year.
Thank you for including the quiet of the tree :)
How scenic and relaxing this was. I really enjoyed watching this
That place looks fabulous
Gorgeous! I especially enjoyed the rebirthing through the giant tree.
My friend and I hiked most of the Takahechi route in the summer of 2018!! Some of the trail is lovely and some is harder but I really see what you said about the "reborn" aspect of the Kumano Kodo, it was really an eye-opening experience. I hope you'll be able to walk the whole trail soon! Thank you so much for the video it made me nostalgic and happy!!!
I don't know why the ema/Emma jacket pun got me so hard, but I'm still chuckling.
Awesome to have Shiori in the video too. Love these travel videos. Chilled, informative and nice views. Keep the great work going
Seeing the falls instantly reminded me of Kaaterskill Falls in NY, though it's only 66m and technically a two tier waterfall. When you showed the top of the falls, I paused the videos and thumbed through my negatives to find a photo I took of Kaaterskill falls, to my amazement it was almost identical! Definently going to visit the Kumomoto next time I go to Japan!
When you started that music vid with the sick sick beats i choked on my food. Lol Hahaha that was so awesome!
Editing Emma is my favourite anime character :3
This video made me feel better, my tummy hurt really bad but your soothing voice helped relax me :)
Wonderful video! And I said "Hi kitty.." out loud when the neko popped in!
Your videos are so comforting ❤ I'm very grateful for the videos you make. Thank you very much for showing us these beautiful places ! ! !
Loved the slow shots of all the locations you went to and the music! Looks like a lovely trip 💗
Love your videos! Always waiting for new uploads!
I was so lucky to be able to do this hike in 2019, the first thing we did on our visit to Japan - quite intense but amazing to start the trip surrounded by nature. And the onsen at the end of each day...oh yes..
This is awesome! I saw this pilgrimage on TV years and years ago and ever since have wanted to go. Thank you for reminding me!
New fan here! I've been binge watching your videos for the past couple of days and I've loved it. Keep up the great work!
This makes me so nostalgic for my hike in 2019
I'm always happy after watching one of your videos. Thank you for making them.
Great video Emma, I loved all of shrines, I hope you had fun. It was good seeing Shiori there too.
I love you added subtitles! So helpful for my Japanese studies. :-)
Beautiful area! Love you and Shiori on adventures!
Love these videos! keep them coming.
Hi Emma, your background music choices are absolutely great. Keep the good work up!
That water at 7:45 is gorgeous
This was so interesting to learn about! Thanks Emma!
6:45 😅 So sweet.
Yatagarasu! How I miss Kumano and Kii-Tanabe. Thank you for sharing.
Love the vid! Many great memories come to mind from when I visited this place 🥰
This was so cool. I went to many of these places on my trip to Japan a few years ago. Very neat, and such a wonderful experience.
this looks amazing, thank you for sharing it Emma! My friend and I have a "dream trip" where we want to take a long vacation and do a tour of all of Japan, this hike is now on the list for things to do if that trip ever happens!
I love the Kumano kodo. I did the whole thing when I lived in Shingu! I went with a group of 12 people.
Love your content ! keep it up 🥰
Hi Emma, thank You for this video. A full-length Kumano kodo is one of the very first things I am intent on undertaking whenever I manage to visit Japan, which, again, high on my life goal list, for professional as well as personal reasons. Let Your wish from the end comes to pass.
that tree gave me goosebumps
I was in Japan just before the world shut down in Jan. 2020. I walked up the Daimonzaka to Nachi falls. I loved that place.
I was in Japan during April/May 2018, and have been learning Japanese since. I wanted to go again autumn 2020. Guess autumn 2021 won't happen either. *small tear*
The trail looks so pretty 😍
Oh that part of Japan is so Beautiful, I spent a week in Shirahama about 18 months ago, and it was the most chill place with really nice people, amazing beaches and fantastic hill walks
ooouuuu there was a smal Natasha sparkle at the End so lovely!
Loved it!
Me: What time is it?
Emma's pants: it's hammer time
Please make more video's like this! Keep it up Emma!😁👍 can't wait to see your next traffel video. Sorry for my bad englisch.😅
Gotta love the extra enthusiasm that Shiori adds to a video... ☺
🙋🏻♀️ Happy Sakura season Emma & Shiori! You’re making me miss Japan so freaking much!! Absolutely loved this vlog 💙 Love sent from Arizona 🏜
Its important to have time with yourself. I need to go camping or something. I need some solitude right about now. Need a vaca.
Just sat with my dinner thinking "Which of Emma's videos should I watch today?" And then saw this was uploaded. I love your cannel so much.
This looks fantastic!! When I visited Japan, I was seated beside someone who had planned to do the kumano kodo.
I would love to be able to do the hike! Thanks for sharing 💕
Great video!
I love how your sound game is getting more 🔥🔥🔥
I personally would go and do the full 5 days of hiking just for the sake of it not even as a spiritual experience. Love Shiori's hat btw!
kumano! my dream place … my friend went there and cured her mental problem. she said it was amazing spiritual experience.
I hope that cat can become a regular guest on the channel
Thanks for the links TokidokiT. Really useful information on tackling the walk. On the bucket list of course.....when it's not a pandemic. Looking forward to the Tokidoki Treks...across the Kumano Kodo video series. Put Journey Across Japan to shame.
This was a very relaxing video.
What a lovely location
Loveeee this place !
This video was great! May have to plan to do the hike when we can finally travel again. And I hope your wish comes true for all our sakes!
It really looks like a great hike! I’m so tempted to do it but I get nervous 😂😅
Thanks! Great video 👍🏼
Very awesome video. Exactly 1 year ago in April, I was supposed to hike the Kumano Kodo, but unfortunately had to cancel the trip. I hope to be able to make the trip happen next year!
AHHHHHHHH YES I’M EARLY
With it being 1am in Melbourne right now, it’s also pretty early in the day here... ohayou!
YOU MADE IT ❤️
😱😱😱 this place seems surreal! I love hiking so I'm definitely considering doing it in the future. Thanks for the tips and websites!
Also, corona guardian lions! 🦁🦁🦁
I love your intro jingle!
Loved that waterfall shot!
I love Editing Emma 🤣 she's hilarious!!
Last May I was going to do part of the Nakasendo trail, but then, well, you know. This also looks beautiful and is going on the list for a future Japan extravaganza!
Beautiful Shrines
2:25 My new favorite phrase: "Wow, talent!" xD
I love your videos! i hope you are well :) i wish you all the best
Wow, that's such a beautiful prefecture
Oooh I’ve been wanting to go there for years but I was always unable to fit it in my trip planning. I’m defo gonna check the links out though it looks so amazing there 🥰
Looks really awesome. I wish i can go to places in Japan before the world's end.
Now I kind of want to hike the Kumano Kodo...but also I just want to visit that Shrine and see that water fall...
those pants! so cool!
Japan is so beautiful. Would like to visit one day
It seems so peaceful 🥺 hope I can go there someday
I'm learning the same 笠 made from cypress pine in a different prefecture. I wish I could meet the man who makes the one Shiori is wearing 🥺
The style is a bit different, but the craft is still continuing!
You should totally go hike the Kumano Kodo one day! It looks like it would be amazing. And to have the Kumano Nachi Taisha as the finish... wow! I just watched Currently Hannah's latest video a few days ago and that also featured Nachi falls and the shrine, but I had never guessed that there was a pilgrim trail there, and it was so nice to learn what the custom associated with the cool hollow tree is!
