Man...I am so impressed by this band that im watching reactions to them. I've never done this, but im glad I did bc I learned im not crazy for wigging out so hard on them, it seems everyone is blown away by them.
EVERY musician looses control and laughs when Steve does that little run with the screeches as he joins the band. It's such a gleeful little moment. I've seen a few non musicians lose their shit over a bunch of parts, but no matter HOW a musician reacts to the rest, they all get tickled in the same way at this part. It's great.
That is sooooo true! I can't play any instrument, but that "screech" just brings a smile to my soul. I love SV and seeing the OG on the throne is such a show of respect and reverence for his greatness and influence on guitar from the young guns is just heart warming.
The guitar the lead guitarist is playing is actually a custom 7 string. The design on the fretboard is called "the tree of death". Similar to Steve's but is different.
Playing GOD, the official video as well as Tim Henson’s walkthrough. Neurotica… the studio play though is amazing… shows how these guys indeed can play this stuff live and stay tight. They use a click track when playing, that’s how they can remain so tight. It also allows them to use MIDI triggers to change guitar tones and settings on-the-fly… otherwise they’d be tap dancing on their pedal boards. Go down the Polyphia rabbit hole…. You won’t be disappointed.
@@greenmountainbaron3582 Not all. But the overwhelming majority. There's still rockers who push and pull tempo without it on stage to this day. But you're right click track is basically just the industry standard now
"Playing God" and "G.O.A.T." are both requirements if you're looking to dive into more Polyphia. "Nasty" is one of their hidden gems (I only say that because it doesn't get attention because it doesn't really have an official music video). Another commenter mentioned "O.D.", and that's near the top of the list as well. Honestly, I don't think I've heard many Polyphia songs I don't like. "Neurotica" still hasn't really grown on me yet though for some reason.
@@jaydensmusic hell yeah! I’m learning Tim Hensons part of the song right now. It’s a beast. At least for me anyway. I’m at a low to medium low intermediate level guitarist. I just got to the part where he does the triplets today.

"Hold on, there's something... Oh it's just the trumpet" (keeps talking)
Trumpet man: *cries*

Tree of life * and it’s a Ibanez J-custom . I have one excellent guitar
There doesn't appear to be a designated lead guitarist. If anything. Scott's playing the lead parts here
@@matt1er912 I have also seen it mentioned as Tree of Death
