Fab, thank you! The pressure meter, ice diagrams and repeated footage is amazing! Perfect at explaining how to do each element. These videos are really helpful. Keep up the amazing work!
I tried it last week Oleg, but barely as it was so scary! I would treat it like a forward spin rather than a twizzle. The fact that i can't do backward 3 turns probably contributes to my inability to do this as of now.
haven’t even gotten past the first tip and i was already doing something wrong 😭 i’ve been scared of twizzles for as long as i can remember and that’s why i always start the twizzle slow and timid-
This is the clearest description of how to initiate and do a twizzle that I have heard, after years of on-ice coaching lessons! I would love to see more detail on how the axis through the body changes on the turns, as I can see on this LFO-tw the line starts blade-edge-skating-side-clavicle (between shoulder and neck), but seems to be different on the LBI part. Is that because of being on the 'heel' then ?
Hi Oleg, I really love all your videos they're so explicit and easy to understand. I wanted to know if you could give me some advice or suggestions to do bunny hop, I feel that I don't do it so bad but I am afraid to jump higher; spread eagle, sit spin (in a straight line), arabesque (I'm scared to fall forward) and two foot spin (I don't spin more than three times and I think I may not have enough speed). Thank you
Great idea! I (Oleg) have been working on them, and when I can do a no hands hydroblade, I will make a video explaining them. We no longer are skating together, so no more videos here, but I am making daily videos on my old channel: Ice Dancer Oleg
can you show more about the practise from the outdside edge? how must be the feet? Is it strong from the shoe or I have to tilt it out with the ankle itself? I know you already have a video but it is hard for me to come over the edge, I'm often straight with the right circle... :-)
unfortunately our partnership has ended, but I continue to make skating videos under my new channel: icedanceroleg I will be doing more edges in the coming month :-)
I noticed that mif requires a cross roll entry on this which is more difficult than the mohawk entry. I guess the only way to effectively enter a twizzle from the cross roll is with good active edges.
Unfortunately our partnership has ended, but I continue to make skating videos under my new channel: icedanceroleg I plan on getting to more Twizzles there.
The heel of my blade has a slight bit of steel shaved off, (from bad sharpening) creating a curved shape. Are twizzles/anything that has to do with the heel still possible?
Yes, each twizzle has it's own "feel" so you have to find that feel in your snap into it. As you do more and more Twizzles, you tend to know that feel and find it as you enter into it.
You mention not to rock on the blade. What is the difference between going back and forth...ball, heel ball, heel, etc. and rocking back and forth from the front and back of the blade?
Hi Shari, sorry no we didn't get to it. Since we're no longer together and I (Oleg) and no living in the Philly area in PA, there won't be any new videos on this channel. However, the videos continue on my new (actually original) channel: Ice Dancer Oleg. I currently don't have anyone to do the dances with, but I will add it to my list of requested videos and will get to it once I find a new partner.
I love the drawings. I'm such a visual person. You've simplified it. Thanks for being excellent teachers!
God, thank you for the added visuals, I’ve been staring at twizzles for *hours* trying to understand and got more info from your 7 minutes.
Glad to help :-D - Oleg

Wow you guys explained this very well, and gorgeous twizzles
Thank you FrozenIceStar!!!
Thanks so much guys!! I've been wanting to see a forward outside twizzle tutorial! ☺ Looks tough but i want to give it a go!
Yep!! Let us know how it goes :-)
I tried it last week Oleg, but barely as it was so scary! I would treat it like a forward spin rather than a twizzle. The fact that i can't do backward 3 turns probably contributes to my inability to do this as of now.
Yeah that would be a problem. Try working on3 turns and Double 3 turns as well it will help.

Hello! Have you thought about a hydroblading tutorial? Great content.

Hello, the music in your video is very nice, what song is it?

Hi Edmund, I (Oleg) will be making the MitF Twizzles soon.
Can you do a tuto of Twizzles series ? It would be great ! Thanks again !

You're welcome!! :-D

Is there any difference in how you approach inside vs. outside twizzles, or is it just the difference in rotation?

Yeah, a couple of years ago. I (Oleg) am still competing and making skating videos as Ice Dancer Oleg.
