Dude. It’s crazy. I mean, I figured some people might be disappointed but it’s like across the entire board disappointment. I feel bad for Bungie, they probably had high hopes but I don’t know. It’s seems like they’re completely cross wired with the community.
Why dont you feel bad for all the people that spent 60-100 dollars of their hard earned money instead?
They're the real victims of this whole thing, not the company who delivered a mediocre product
Why should he feel bad for the people who willing opened their wallets? If you haven’t played Destiny before, ok I get that, but if you have, this expansion isn’t super far off of the normal mark for Bungo.
@@bofa722its their fault for pre ordering and spending money not knowing what theyre getting.

Yes!! Felt like a season story…a not so good one at that
did nobody else get concerned when they were talking about the dlc being "like a summer blockbuster..."
i literally hated listening to osiris, always so time pressured and sounded like a student who just missed his bus home. ''Guardian, no time for that shit, you need to hurry up and get to the veil!!!'' - *seconds later pressuring us to learn Strand*
@@AFunkyFella They said that? It shows cuz this feels like a phase 4 Marvel movie.
we need more missions of us storming the beaches with zavala/vanguard. The trailers made it seem like it was all out war, when it felt more like the guardian running around doing little fetch missions
It reminds me of blizzard and battle for Azeroth World of Warcraft expansion. We thought it was gonna be an all out war and turned out to be a little walk in the park with barely any faction vs faction warfare.
So Destiny in a nutshell lol
we still have 3 more seasons
@@HeyKyle The DLC shouldn't have taken place on a retconned city in Neptune. The Witness was at our doorstep with Calus, so we should have fought them at our doorstep and lost. Not went to chase an item we know nothing of aside from every character telling us it's vital for our survival. Maybe tell us, or don't make up a macguffin last minute for us to chase. They had plenty of time to plan this DLC.
True. The last mission with Caitl was epic too! Could you imagine if Zavala, shaxx, drifter, Eris, and everybody was there with us! It would have been so much better.
tbh it felt like B tier porn movie, strand and season are ok but its not even near what bungie hyped it up to be
What an analogy
💀
B Tier boobs and butts are still… boobs and butts.
This felt like a shitty 80s movie made IN the 80s not for current nostalgia.
Just finished the campaign, my thoughts
I don’t know who said it, but bungie promised that strand wouldn’t take as long to attain as stasis
I expected Osiris to play a bigger role than just “the mentor” like let him fight with strand aswell or something.
The veil mystery….is still a mystery, I was expecting something much more interesting, like the traveler’s consciousness or true form…..
Honestly, it felt like a seasonal story, I feel like lightfall and final shape were originally one expansion, but they cut out final shape and threw in the Neptune….
Clearly the writing team on witch queen weren’t there for this time
They were in reality, they prob have a lot more plans for final shape
lol you think so ?
strand definitely doesnt take as long to fully acquire as stasis does. beyond light gave us the subclass with no aspects, while with strand we get the aspects and can at the very least obtain some of the new fragments
@@demaisher182 When you're shelling out essentially $100 for an expansion to get everything, "probably" isn't a term to be used for content size potential my friend.
" I feel like lightfall and final shape were originally one expansion" it was that was confirmed by bungie that lightfall was intially going to be the final expansion in the saga then it was split in two.
Totally agree with build crafting and cooldowns. Those nerfs in pve were uncalled for. I thought we were supposed to have fun in pve. So much for ‘Play the way you want to play’
"Play the way Bungie wants you to play, or we'll nerf you until you do." That's been the impetus to just about every nerf they've done. This is just more of the same.
Welcome to life as a warlock player. All we have is grenade/devour spam, grenade/scorch spam, or grenade/jolt spam
How Stasis became the one halfway decent subclass in terms of builds is beyond me
I think the campaign criticisms are valid because at this point it has been experienced fully. However I also feel we need more time with strand and the build crafting changes in order for the community fo figure out some more potent combos. I remember when stasis released everyone said it sucked IN PVE at launch (it was obviously broken in pvp) because it had limited aspects and fragments. Soon though people figured it out and it became strong.
Bruh our builds are dog ass, the new system deleted 99% of hunter builds, half of all exotic armor are completely useless (95% of titans), its simpler sure but ass. Don't get me started on how there not being a way to have orbs travel to us, which is pretty dogshit for GMs.
And yet they could easily solve this problem if they would stop time gating this shit
@Woiken they can't win. It's either don't time gate and people complain about not having any content because they blew through all of it in two days. Or do, and get people like you complaining about it being time gated.
@@aresgodofgaming2309 not sure what you mean with the hunter and titan stuff. But I I think your right that the exact same versions of old and new builds are less powerful in some cases. However there’s now new opportunities with orbs being more central could involve more super usage or there could be some orb generation stuff we overlooked in the past. All I’m saying is give it time and if nothing is figured out then we can call it dog but there could be builds we don’t know about art this point
I don't think we need more time with strand, it's ass.
I don't know what they were smoking making the cooldown super fast in the campaign and then afterward it's the SLOWEST CDs ever, why would they make a hard hitting high cd clas with a mobility gimmick.
It seems like the team who did the campaign didn't talk to the strand designers and just put a bandaid to the CDs because they know it was terrible without it.
I felt that when he said “I can’t heal myself”. Especially in that training ground.
Exactly it took me like 10 times to beat that part
I literally had to swap mods to make orbs of power heal me when using strand
I had to switch to carnsteins and blinding gl
Destiny fans protecting bungie and destiny keep the game from being fixed . If you think the game is good then keep on playing and keep it to yourself (I mean it in a nice way I swear) because the people complaining just want the game to evolve . Bro this game and expansions costs like 300 total and bungie can’t respect us enough to offer that quality level each expansion
I'm really glad that many people have similar thoughts on Lightfall. I was sorta hyped, but with restraint. I saw what happened with Beyond Light or some of the seasons last year. My clan was hella hyped. While I agree with almost the entirety of the critique, I'm glad that Strand is undercooked in its current state. I'd rather see them buff it over time, instead of having the "Stasis" situation all over again.
This
Broken stuff is a lot more fun than this however.
Strand is kinda good on warlock I made a build with 2 fragments BC IMO the other fragments are lack luster but on the other hand they need to buff it to make it on par with the light sub classes
@@axe2grind244 a broken paid subclass is how you entirely wipe out the f2p playerbase (which is already lacking) whilst also detering those that just cant afford lightfall at the minute
@@duckboimcquack4385 Whilst simultaneously giving the middle finger to those who paid $100 for it? That’s a strange business model. Void 3.0 was broke with Overshields and Volatile rounds but was so fun, this is not fun whatsoever.
You brought up a great point about how the campaign gets so much harder when it forces you to use strand instead of a proper build. They should have just put all the intro to strand into one side mission like they did in Taken King.
Yes, and just like beyond light, too. Give us the new subclass mid way. I was tearing my eyes out in fusteration, trying to unlock it as fast as possible under-leveled.
What how? It gets so easy when it forces you to use strand lol, you can spam it
@GrimViridian you don't really have it. You're using strand in specific sections of lightfall . He's talking about the ability to make a build based off of strand. Not the temporary usage of it.
@@TheUltrasora so there's a point in the actual campaign before the end that you unlock it? Figured it was gonna be temporary throughout till the end like stasis, I haven't been able to go far yet
@GrimViridian stasis was different. You unlock stasis midway through the dlc. It just certain aspects , grenades, and fragments were not available until after you beat the dlc. You could equip stasis whenever you wanted and could make a mini build trying to finish the dlc with it. You can't really do that with strand beside using certain exotics that work with it. Only during the story missions and certain areas of pve space you can temporarily use strand. Until you beat it, you can't equip strand.
I was waiting for someone to say that! The hardest parts of the campaign were definitely when they forced u to use strand instead of void on warlock :/
You’re saying it was harder to play bits w a new subclass without any fragments or aspects vs your built and geared subclass? Insert shocked Pikachu here
Yea, it actually worked against the new strand. The content being harder meant you needed fully built subclasses. When you were forced to use strand, it was counter productive. Not to mention the new enemy would just suppress you out of your super.
@@bob513993 these people don’t think when they type bro💀💀
You know... the mission a struggked with the most, was the second last mission where we only used strand. That vex mindscape part is bloody difficult cause i had to ise a volatile void hunter build on a strand subclass... obviously im gonna struggle. But was it good game design for players to learn these new tricks, only for them to realise it is useless? Probably not. Maybe bungie could have given us a strand build throughout the campaign and then allowed us to try it out or perfect it on that mission.
Not everyone has to use it. Just one person to make tangles
😂 I actually ditched trying to use strand against Calus because it was hindering me and pounded him with a void setup
Yea

This. I've always loved Mtashed's video's and I'm glad to see him back. Sucks that *I* am not playing the game anymore, but I'll still watch his gameplay any day. :) He's a damn good entertainment creator.
The biggest problem I have is that you can't use everything during the actual story. My biggest gripe with it rn is how the nerfed build crafting with a baseball bat to it's knees
They simplified it and part of it was to stop ability spam
Idk man, once I leveled up my gear my builds were almost exactly the same. Like seconds difference in uptime. The only stuff that’s gone is stuff that adds a ton of extra damage in PVE.
@@nathangarcia2356 right? I actually really enjoy the changes.

And as a person who used to have at leasy 1 op build for each subclass for my titan, hunter, warlock the nerf not simpifly NERF that amour mod recieve basically kill 75% of useable and op build in the game i mean most of my character (hunter and titan) now have only one viable not op not endgame build viable with my warlock as the exception with 2 op
@@dungpham-oc3uo I rly just don’t see the problem. I can still run my infinite type ability builds without an issue with a few seconds difference in ability uptime. The only thing I’m feeling is that we do less damage to bosses and boss type enemies, which I shouldn’t be killing in threee seconds anyway
Nimbus sounds like he’s perpetually recovering from getting his wisdom teeth removed
The problem I have with the story narrative, is this:
Imagine you've been following an author as they write a book series, and it's been a pretty decent series so far, on an upswing lately. You're pretty invested in this series, and you were jazzed about this latest book coming out.
And then the author releases the newest book and none of it makes sense. It doesn't even create that scenario where "It creates more questions than it answers, but its ok, because the answers will come" because it didn't really answer anything. You get what you got, and in a time where we should be finding answers to these questions that have been posed to us for almost 10 years, we were left with no answers and new questions.
The new characters were forced into the story with an accelerated air of familiarity with us, like we're old friends up to the same old things. Calus goading the Witness into a petulant outburst really took the Witness down a notch on the big-bad scale. Osiris' constant urging to do better, go faster, we need to get to the "thing" faster, quicker, etc gave a rushed feel of confusion. You would hope that they would have at least explained what those things were throughout the story, or by the end, so we could understand the urgency.
*story spoilers*
I still have no clue what the doo-dad was that ol'boy blew himself up in. I got the feeling that the writers wanted me to care about his sacrifice, but I honestly didn't. He was written to be familiar with us after 3-5 minutes of dialogue, but he wasn't familiar to me, so I just sat there wondering "What is going on, what was that thing, what was it doing, why was this the only way?" I felt that same way at the very end of the story, sans the exploding story character.
The issue with this narrative, is if they went and backfilled them with seasonal content to explain it all, I don't know if I'd care. Moving forward with the Light & Dark saga, I just need to know directly what is happening with the Witness & the Traveller, and what does that mean. Then the rest of this entire expansion can be a moot point that doesn't need to be revisited or repaired. And that's honestly what's wrong with this narrative. If they just fill us in on what is going on with the current state of those two, the entirety of what we just did can be forgotten.
I ain’t reading allat but I agree bro 🔥
@@champion3760 I don't read that either

@@walrideralp6275 absolutely I'm just stating it boggles my mind they complain this much and still don't vote with their wallets.
I had a pretty good time doing the campaign, the tormentors are awesome and scary. I just felt the story was missing some parts and it's like it was rushed. I also didn't like being forced to use it. I think the witch queen campaign had more of an impact than this
Agreed
u think? its a consensus.
I think a lot of the disappointments are coming from the story feeling extremely vague and incomplete. I had a feeling in the back of my mind too that it might turn out this way with it being a two part thing with final shape. I just feel like it could’ve been executed better. The campaign didn’t feel as dark and hopeless as I hoped it would and I feel like nothing was explained at all which in turn made the stakes not feel as urgent or as scary as I feel they should’ve.
The Witch Queen story was amazing because there were a lot of payoffs and explanations finally revealed in that campaign that went back as far as the taken king with the book of sorrows and then had its bomb shell ending with the reveal of the witness. They’re was some pay offs and some new questions and mystery introduced in the universe, whereas in this campaign there was zero payoff to anything.
I still don’t understand anything more about the witness or it’s goal with the final shape or why it’s such a big deal, and I still don’t know anything more about the traveler. The whole story can be be summed up as witness needs vail to achieve final shape. No explanation on much of anything. To simplify the plot even more it felt like it’s whole driving purpose was we need stop this from happening because we say it’s bad.
I personally was hoping for a little more lore explanation on what exactly the travel is and it’s relation to why the witness and its fixation on it for the final shape is so important and what it’s goal in achieving the final shape might be other than ending existence. I was hoping it was a little more. To be clear I wasn’t expecting a full blown explanation in this campaign with it being a two part piece but it feels like we learned nothing at all in this entire campaign other than that small bit about light being manifested as a physical form of power and darkness being more of a metaphysical form of power. On a side note, I did love Nezerec stuff that was in the strike.
I had some thoughts in my mind throughout all the campaign:
"Wow the veil I wonder what it is"
"Is nobody gonna tell me where exactly did the strand come from?"
"Can someone explain me what the Veil is already"
"PLEASE TELL ME SOMETHING I BEG OF YOU I DON'T KNOW WHAT AM DOING"
"Wait, he really is dead?"
"What the balls?!"
They NEVER explained what exactly is this ""veil"" or why did we get strand without any explanation of where it came from, Stasis we received it via the pyramid on Europa, but how did Strand just appear out of nowhere if it is a dark power?
Bungie has no clue what they're doing. And this is exactly what you get from a company that prides speed over quality. Literally. Their CEO released an entire instructional for other companies outlining why Bungie is a "leader in the gaming world", and that reason is because they rush through development at the expense of quality.
at this point whatever they gotta do to perfect final shape i hope they make the decision to delay it cuss it cannot fail like this is legit the end of this saga that has been foretold since vanilla d1
@@AlphaMachina I feel like the "original" Lightfall DLC is what is now going to be TFS. I guess Bungie didn't feel like changing the DLC name or something. Seems like Bungie didn't originally plan on having this whole DLC exist. Kind of like a filler. Same for Strand, would make sooo much more sens in every level to have got it from Witchqueen instead of creating an entire campaign around it.
Yeah for a $50 major expansion they should have revealed more than they did. I'm sure they will try to explain this away in the seasonal content but they should have given us a memorable campaign for the $50 entry point at least. It wouldn't have been too much too soon to give us a better explanation of what the veil is, especially since everyone but the guardian seems to know wtf it is.
This is the first DLC I haven't bought, and I don't think I will. I was going to give it a chance before buying, but no. Waiting for the launch of Luna Abyss. Great to see you back MT 👍
LightFall is a perfect example of not to through your money blindly at the company even due there marketing team doing an excellent job.
10000000%, kinda regret pre-ordering now.
It's an ongoing story that Bungie knows ppl are going to buy because Bungie has advertised this as the beginning of the end, where we start getting answers. I think a portion of the anger from players is because at some point you expect Bungie to respect the players for coming along for the ride after all these years, and this overpriced, shallow campaign story was awful, no answers, more questions, horribly written. The anger is because it pales in comparison to Witch Queen and the precedent Bungie had set with their improved writing etc. We're about to hit the finale of the entire story and Bungie has just taken a huge step backwards and players feel lied to. I don't think you can blame ppl for preordering the same way you can with standard standalone games because Destiny has a certain expectation that has been built of late, and Bungie just destroyed it. Also, the way the game is structured with the raid race, it's a huge disadvantage to wait for reviews if you intend to play the raid day 1.
So...does this mean the $50 expansion isnt worth it? Whats everyones honest opinion about this?
Make no mistake. Despite the valid criticism, the gameplay of lightfall is great. Putting the dialogue aside the missions were fun to play and the tormentors can genuinely invoke a sense of fear. Ik I got a bit scared seeing it charge at me for the first time.
Do any Warlocks have an extra robe Nibus can borrow? If I wanted to look at a Chippendale dancer I'd go to a gay club.
My biggest gripe is that all of my abilities take so damn long to regen even with me leaning heavily into it. Nothing seems to flow anymore and it’s devastating because I wanted to get to play with the grappling more but I don’t have any way to get it back quicker. And no I don’t use hoil I’ve been using my own different exotics instead of just hoil.
Hoil got nerfed anyways

Fairly hardcore Destiny player. I really enjoyed the campaign on Legendary difficulty. The gameplay was well paced and I enjoyed not having a bunch of fetch style or back and forth quests between the missions. Thought that the hard moments in the campaign were better balanced than Witch Queen (thinking of that Scorn sniper boss on Legendary from WQ specifically. The last boss in Lightfall was a more enjoyable encounter and less of a drag than Savathun was.). Some of the lore pieces are a bit frustrating for sure, but I look at this expansion and its seasons as more of a setup for an exciting finale in The Final Shape. So, I'm willing to withhold judgement regarding story for a bit to let things play out over the year. Strand on Titan certainly feels underwhelming. I prefer that over what we got with Stasis though.
Im with you this feels like beyond light 2.0 not a continuation of witch queen so my expectations were lower. Im also a titan main so my expectations for strand where on the floor lol
How can you withhold judgment on the garbage story when the story is the bulk of what we pay for? Seasonal content isn't included. Gamewide changes are free. The story being garbage needs to be judged.
I prefered the witch queen campaing personally.
Same at the moment. I'm stuck at the boss fight the second to last mission, but I'm enjoying the whole experience.
Just wish there were some things better explained from the get of, although i got some pleasant surprises. And also wish some encounters weren't so reliant on movement to complete them, like the mission I'm stuck on now (plus, my ps4 controller is dying. Instead of running completely forward, my titan is running slightly to the left, or not running at all).
@@99_ahc I'm fine withholding judgement as I feel in a pretty similar place as I did at the end of WQ. Lots of new questions even though we have some resolutions. I paid for the whole year of content and I look at the seasons as part of the story. The seasonal stories for the year of the WQ did a great job setting up this set expansion. I am also not as invested in the story as many other players seem to be. I thought it was a fun romp, Calus is finally dead, and we got to see some movement from the Traveler for the first time since the Red War. Lots of cool progression from my standpoint, and I am okay waiting until next Feb to finish out this story. As a penultimate experience, I found the LF campaign to be a good setup, as I was expecting a bit of an anti-climatic ending. My biggest issue with the story is I think Bungie wanted us to be more invested in the Cloudstrider characters, but I really couldn't have cared less when Rohan exploded and Nimbus is not the kind of character I enjoy. All in all, I respect your opinion though and understand your misgivings regarding the story. I am just willing to be patient and wait this out, as I felt the gameplay did a good enough job supplementing average story telling, and the following year to two years has a ton of potential to be awesome story wise.
Bro when the one Cloudstrider died I was like "and?" How am I supposed to care about a dude we literally meant 5min ago and I have no history with? Bungie dropped the ball this dlc
The only good thing about this dlc is that you get to save checkpoints more often than in witchqueen, artifact mods are automatically applied, and the ability to farm vanguard/night fall weapons by playing regular strikes.
What I also noticed is that players who took a break or who don't play much of the game are the only players "having fun".
Really? I felt like the checkpointing was way worse here. Or are you talking about leaving mid-mission and coming back?
Well people play this game so much it's become a job. I took 2 years off and just went through Beyond light and witch queen in the last few months and it's "fun" for me. I still don't have all the fragments for stasis. People have burnt themselves out
@@coltsfan354 okay so like in witchqueen you only save the checkpoint after you open a chest. In this campaign you get maybe 2 or 3 checkpoints before a chest. It's insane lol
@@jfelton3583 yea but you also fail to realize that people play for different reasons. The players who usually take a break are usually the players who don't chase seals, who don't chase triumphs etc. They are usually the players who do 1 full raid per week then 3 checkpoints then stop after they get the exotic etc. Then there are the players who play the game but don't take it too serious. Then there are the streamers who needs to beat the content fast in order to post videos and so on etc
@@coltsfan354 how exactly was it worse?
I too took a step away and haven’t played a campaign since Warmind and after playing Lightfall, I wish I had stayed away.

Agree to this. I'll play it this last year occasionally but there are plenty of other games to keep me busy. Elden ring dlc will crush this ine
Maybe the game itself is better now, I hope so. But I watched the campaign cutscenes and man what an awful story. A completely shallow story tease that sets up another year of seasonal cutscenes. I’m not joking, the story telling in vanilla D1 was better. At least there was mystery and reverence in d1. Btw, I’m a Destiny vet but I do not oversaturate my time with destiny. I play a few hundred hours every 2-3 years. The last time I played heavily was season 13-15, so I’ve had plenty of time off.
Even in the final fight (no spoilers) where you are encouraged HEAVILY to use strand with all the tangles in the sky and giving you a option to use it right next to the banner, it felt so mediocre to use compared to light subclasses.
The opening to the campaign was amazing. The rest of it left a lot to be desired.
You mean going through vents and corridors on a very similar environment that we’re tired of seeing before only to launch in a very non-exciting manner inside a pod into Neptune for the first time? I guess.

I actually like strand how it is. ie not OP and breaking the game as per stasis with beyond light. I'm also biased as I was more excited about the new void and solar fragments before release than I was about strand and aside from the cool looking animations I never really saw strand as something I'd likely ever want to build into
Strand is VERY weak. I completed the story on Legend, and no way was I going to use Strand while completing it. NO WAY!
I’m pretty disappointed. The witch queen was sooooo much better . Still so early in tho .
Especially with the difficulty spike in things like Nightfalls, I've exclusively seen people expecting to stroll through grapple to the boss and get one tapped.
Hey Mtash,
I want to toss this log onto the fire. The weapons at the War Table in the HELM are NOTHING but all reskins of past season's weapons. The breakdown below:
New - Bow - Raconteur - (Old - Under Your Skin - Season of the Risen - S16)
New - Fusion RIfle - Royal Executioner - (Old - Iota Draconis - Season of the Lost - S15)
New - Auto Rifle - Perpetualis - (Old - Chrysura Melo - Season of the Lost - S15)
New - Grenade Launcher (Special Ammo) - Prodigal Return - (Old - Explosive Personality - Season of the Risen - S16)
New - Grenade Launcher (Heavy Ammo) - Regnant - (Old - Canis Major - Season of the Lost - S15)
New - Sword - Caretaker - (Old - Hero of Ages - Season of the Lost - S15)
Sure, Perpetualis is a Strand weapon and Raconteur is a Stasis weapon so yes, their damage types are different, but the fact remains, it's the same weapon essentially, just with different perks, skin, etc so it's nothing "new." I could see if one, MAYBE two were the same, but the whole f_cking lineup!?! C'mon you guys. If this is what people call innovation and new, then we're doomed as players. Pay for a new expansion - get a slew of reprised weapons, get nerfs left and right, get content taken away then vaulted and still, we clamor for more!
Note: I stated this before I watched your video because I noticed this yesterday evening after visiting the War Table in the HELM.
I really REALLY feel like if they buff strand to be more similar to what we feel during the campaign that'll solve a huge chunk of the communities hate, as for the story theres nothing they can do about that now
Stop being a bunch of haters. You all just seek to ruin something good and turn it into something that is never enough
clear and constructive criticism is good, especially with things that can be tweaked. Hopefully they can take the feedback from the pacing of the story and apply it to the final shape. I agree with alot of the criticism especially the story telling it just felt rushed and didn't set up a clear danger.
For me i dont really care about most of the other issues. Im just sad about armor mods 0.5 because i spent hrs build crafting every season and now everything that was interesting in the mods department is gone...
I think for me my disappointment is due to me having higher expectations than I should have.
And that shouldn’t be your fault. It’s just ok I wanted a little more from destiny
300K steam player but i cant find a single guardian that doing a Terminal activity in Neomuna.
I'm having a blast... I think it's the best expansion they have ever done. At least from my perspective so far lol
People complain about anything this dlc is great for me story was iffy but other then that I have no Issues tbh
@@too_official6194 see, I love the story and the location. I've been wanting a Neptune zone ever since the first Neptune pvp maps we had. Only thing I 110% agree with is that I HATE nimbus... That guy is so cringe. I wanted to delete my character when they first bumped
@@cfreeses story could have been better but the location is beautiful
Here ismy honest thoughts, bungo being acquired by a billions of dollars aka Sony and this is the best they can do? I mean no wonder why people are mad but also on the other hand, I didn’t buy lightfall for this half baked contents🤷🏻♂️ also as a titan main, going into lightfall, thundercrash nerf, ward of dawn nerf, arc 3.0 titan nerf, heart of inmost light nerf etc🥹
I think with Nimbus, and the Neonuma they went for the 80s vibe and also the 80's action movie dialogue. That makes sense to me .. is it good ? Idk
It doesn’t work tho lol that idea was stupid
Nimbus is our next Cayde whether we like it or not 🤮
I personally think it's the best dlc ever... Without a doubt!
P.S. Don't forget, that very same community, made nerf stasis, they said it, that they never make powerful subclasses, you ask for it yourself guys ;)
You honestly can’t fully blame the marketing team for all the hype, I feel like the destiny UA-cam community severely over hypes everything Bungie releases and that’s we’re I think most of the excitement comes from. I sadly can’t afford the new DLC and I’m busy with school so I don’t have a opinion on the story but with everyone saying how bad it is I’m glad I didn’t pre order. Sadly the hype cycle will just continue. Hopefully the final shape will be better but with how they form there big dlcs I just don’t think so
If nimbus is cringe then fynch is cringe
Bungie seem to deal in absolutes - we complained that we didn't get enough use of stasis when that came out during the story and now we've gotten too much of it through lightfall campaign. They can never meet in the middle and just give us enough.
They do that with weapons and exotic nerfs/buffs too 😂😂😂 they can’t balance nor write stories without it being in absolutes like you said
Something not yet said is the reality that they are having to wait so fucking long between DLC's. It's a reality of media production especially videogames that it can take this long, but I personally just could not put up with this piecemeal completion of a story or gaming experience personally, especially when it's slated to continue or ends on cliffhangers.
Warlock strand with the threadling grenade and well able to be used as a defensive and offensive hybrid feels good and the ultimate is fun but the cooldowns are long especially for the melee which is really fun to use but definitely right when you say you will never have all 3 up. Maybe 1 if you’re lucky. But the threadlings are fun to use especially since you can consume your grenade and they all stick on you and jump to attack whenever in combat. Or drop well and have 8 go out at once
How to milk players for 9 years
Yeah the last boss fight where it wants you to use strand, i just didn’t even bother. I just used my fusion nade warlock lol. Beat the last boss so fast, i didn’t even bother with the tormentors lmaoooo
Same my friend used strand I just used protocol and spammed nades at Calus with a demo rocket lol
@@xfuture_xx2998 Idk what bungie was thinking, if they want us to use strand, they have to give us passive ways of healing, aspects to make the abilities regenerate faster etc etc. but nope, everything timelocked.
@Sneef dont forget Thiers fragments and aspects jus saying
they REALLY need to fucking reduce the grenade cooldown on grapple. otherwise there isnt NO POINT TO FUCKING USE IT OVER OTHER GRENADES
That bit about strand making the difficulty go up sharply definitely captures my feel about it down to being swapped out of void
Nimbus also felt like a discount/diet Cayde-6
Steam/X-Box seem to be refunding people even after playing the whole/most of the campaign lol
Hey bro from hearing your perspective with the break I see exactly what you mean, a ton of the frustration comes from the last year of building us up into using our abilities significantly more. For them to now feel like it takes ages even when I fully stat and build into them, it’s just disappointing
Exactly I used to have a great build that allowed me to survive in grandmasters but now I struggle in normal strikes with that same build because of how bad buildcraftinbg is now
I'm mainly upset with lightfall because they basically destroyed builds with their mod system rework. They finally give us the ability to save builds, but in the same breath, they DESTROY BUILD CRAFTING !!
The only adjustment to the mod system that needed to be made was eliminating element specificity.
I definitely have to disagree with Twitter and Reddit on this one, I enjoyed the entire campaign and a lot of the changes they've made in the qol were awesome in my opinion. Considering the campaign and this season is literally a day old, I'd say it's a good bet that the rest of the year will explain a lot more of these plot points that a number of members in the community are citing as a pain point in this expansion.
Overhyped. Underwhelming. Extremely expensive for the content provided. It's worth $10 at best
This is interesting to say the least, I haven’t had a chance to play yet, but my friend, who hasn’t played consistently in over a year was playing it, and having an absolute blast. And he doesn’t really love destiny these days. although one thing of note he did say was that it felt like a different game, and that was really good to him. So I hope I can find the same enjoyment when I play after work today.
Don’t worry it’s a really fun campaign. Strand is also fun, you just need to figure out how to use it quickly or you will struggle. Use a nebulous build if possible, I used Stag because I was running void, but it fed well into Strand. The campaign is fun, running it with multiple people makes it slightly harder, in a good way.
@@maxcrss2845 ya I’m still very excited, and overall the new UI changes seem awesome. Definitely looking forward to making some actual builds. And honestly, as long as I can run around, shoot stuff, and do some cool things, that’s all I really need out of destiny. I’ve enjoyed the story up to this point so far and if it falls off a bit I don’t think I’ll care much. I’m more of a pvp guy anyway.
@@xAnonXoXmysTx Sorry, the campaign is fun, but the writing is hot garbage. It feels like strand was taken out of witch queen and shoehorned into lightfall... The final battle is fun though :D
Maybe stop obfuscating for bungo, by calling Paying Customers a "community.".....
I feel like everyone had such high expectations because of WQ so they were disappointed it didn't live up to what they were expecting. I think overall with the new subclass I figured it would be similar to a beyond light situation where the campaign is focused around the new subclass and that this DLC wasn't going to be as strong because of it. Overall I've enjoyed the lightfall campaign but I don't think the new subclass is going to be as hot as stasis was (when it released).
Witch queen wasn’t that good either, beyond light wasn’t good either, and this isn’t good either, neither was shadowkeep. All of these expansions have been mediocre in content, and the drip feeding of seasons and weapons is killing the game.
heres my problem, bungie is charging more for less content (and lower quality too) even though the new sandbox and balance changes feel amazing, thats all avaiable for free, i also like the new seasonal content (so far) but what im paying for is the campaign, and that was a total disapointment, dont get me wrong, it WAS fun playing the campaign, and some encounters were absolute bangers, but the campaign felt more like master strand 101 rather than its own thing, the narrative made almost no sense at all, it was all a huge "chase the mcguffin" moment, AND YOU DONT EVEN KNOW WHAT THE MCGUFFIN IS, even tough everyone else in the campaign seems to know what it is, IF this dlc was 20 dollars or maybe a bit more i wouldnt be complaining at all, but what we got does not justify the price at all, not at all, and dont even get me started on paying to skip the campaign on you other characters, like what in the actual f**k is that, that is a huge cash grab and douchebag move from bungie, not justifiable at all in my opinion
even though Witch Queen campaign starts on mars, you soon get into the throne world and the aesthetic, the moths and all the new stuff. With this one, unless it’s in a very obvious location withiin the city, i kind of feel like i’ve been in locations similar over the years. sometimes the pyramid, sometimes seraph station, other times maybe arcadian valley and so it hasn’t felt all that unique so far in the actual campaign and maybe that’ll switch a bit.
The world does feel empty of other players and i really wish they’d just let us access by teleporting in rather than the tedious sparrowing all the way each time until that comes about then arriving and the ads being way above level for what i am.
i did see frost showing hunter pvp and it did seem to have some potential for that class.
it almost feels like a totally different writing team came up with it than even as recent as last season’s stuff so i don’t know how it pans out yet as i’m halfway but difficulty wise, doing it solo, i haven’t felt the challenge that WQ gave or close. The tormentors are a cool idea, actually very good and i’d give them the same thumbs up as the light blade ones, yet once you use disorient on them, they aren’t a threatening and it’s just been the time on the health so far, even when there was two they didn’t seem that threatening and maybe that does switch up soon in the campaign so here’s hoping.
I hated all of it. Been playing since day 1 and I might never play again. Bungie cares more about “womens history month”and “they/them” pro nouns. Lightfall f’ing sucks.
I really liked the Story to be honest
This is the first video I watched after launch. Thought I was in minority, but it is good to know that I am not going insane. Worst experience since Destiny 1 launch day. Wasted 100 money, but rather feel that than play this garbage (story, gameplay, new subclass...). I can not believe I am not able to think of a single positive.
I myself am having a lot of fun with this expansion so far. Strand has scratched an itch for me that I didn't know I had, I had expected the longer cooldowns. Throughout the campaign, we were "Strand Empowered", which also happens with Stasis on Europa, and Stasis Empowerment lowers the cooldown of abilities, so I assumed it was the same for Strand. I do agree in some part with the community in terms of the story though. I felt like it was a little lackluster for all the buildup and hype it had surrounding it. More than ever, I feel this is a perfect example of why the seasonal model needs to be dropped. If Bungie didn't have to worry about dropping a whole season's worth of content alongside major expansions, they'd probably have a lot more resources to put towards a longer, more meaningful, and more detailed Campaign story. I'm suspending the bulk of my disappointment until after the raid. There's every possibility that a lot of the story could be revealed through said raid, Bungie has been employing the use of environmental storytelling more and more throughout the years, especially in their raids. But it does seem odd to put such crucial moments behind a raid. I dunno, just my thoughts.
TLDR; Lightfall definitely has really good components about it, and glaringly bad components as well. Seasonal content needs to be put down.
Tbh the "seasons" should still have drops i.e new weapons, a dungeon, new armor. But all the story should be left to the expansions. I'm fine with a season pass too, as long as it includes good cosmetics, emotes, finishers and the new content that would replace the seasonal content.
God damit I paid over $100.00 dollars for this an this is what I’m hearing!!!!😡😡😡😡
I do wish the would reduce the strand cooldowns, but other than that I am loving my titan strand build, and the story was a lot of fun especially with how difficult it was
Theybrobably will temembwr solae 3.0 after feedbqck
@@cbandit7715 you alright there buddy?
We were promised Halo Reach, but got Halo Infinite instead.
My main issue is how it seemed like they were using lightfall as an excuse as to why a lot of witchqueen seasonal content was lackluster. They made it seem like lightfall would be worth a bellow average year. So when it didn't deliver that it makes you wonder.
Honestly its comparable to beyond light
No fr
Beyond light is oscar worthy compared to this
I am a d1 player d2 day 1 vet who stopped playing before forsaken and came back half a year ago, I love the vapour wave silver surfer bros, spidey webs and slinging myself across the map. I did the campaign as hunter and absolutely loved all the strand gameplay but my warlock friend struggled greatly with the sling and jumps. Add in the upped difficulty and the game feels really fresh and fun imo
Ive been an active Destiny player since September 2014. I'm so happy that I decided not to buy Lightfall and take one year off from D2!
I like it. I'm fine with the changes and such. I hope for some more variety in the mods, but that's about it.
Okay having fun and having a good story are two different things. You can have fun while the story is bad.
I’m having fun with lightfall as well. But the story is what is majorly disappointing
Wasn't it mostly the seasonal story quests that made Witch Queen's story so loved? If so, then I would imagine a lot more story will come week to week with this expansion as well. Also, personally I've always loved characters that can crack jokes at the worst of times, and I like the Marvel movies type of dialog lol. Oh, and just throwing it out there, but Red War was my favourite part of D2 because of the story. Maybe I'm part of the problem for all these people raging right now lol. This reads like I'm making it all up to be different but I'm not, I swear!
But I haven't played it yet so I can't say for sure. Maybe I'll hate it too, who knows.
No it was the witch queen. Season of the risen wasn’t bad either .
No Savathun was what made Witch Queen's story so good. It was a very compelling and very entertaining campaign and she was a really well written character.
Oh god no, none of my fireteam liked that season, the story was fine but the whole capturing the hive thing was just so long and not very fun. WQ was good simply because it was well written as a story, whereas LF is just badly written, we don't learn anything, some of the characters act just awful, both new and old and strand, although fun with the story mode recharges, sucks once you have it as a full class and the way you unlock it is almost insulting tbh.
think the main frustration is that we knew what we were doing and why in Witch Queen. Cos cutscenes and dialogue actually told us things.
No lol. the camapign was the most praised thing about WQ. Even going as far saying that it was the best campaign in Destiny history, 1 and 2.
The only strand class I could see being used even in the raid would be Titan with HOIL but even then with those ability recharges it gives a bad first impression it being better than it is.
Time gated fragments are kinda lame but I am enjoying this dlc but witch queen had a more coherent campaign. With a better beginning middle and ending with Lightfall the beginning was good, the middle iffy and the finale felt rushed.
Like I felt calus was underused my boi my emperor felt like a backseat in everything I would have imagine him gloating and showing off more but we rarely got anything.
The raid is gonna be nutz cause we know who it is via the strike and damn if Bungie fucks that up RIP the community believe me they can’t fuck up this raid
I pretty much agree with every criticism he read. I'm very disappointed with the new build crafting, the power fantasy has been severely dumbed down. That was the best part of the game before.
Seems early to judge though isn't it? We just got a massive overhaul to mods and lots of new fragments. Already seeing crazy new build videos personally.
i never cared about destiny story since day 1. the world immersion, gunplay and dopamine induced loot is what makes me love this game. the story for me was always total dogshit. the way i think about destiny is like a really good song but the moment you start listening to the lyrics (the story in this case) the moment it falls apart.
so with that said, i am enjoying lightfall so far, 7.5/10, it has a little something for everyone.
I am personally having a blast
Edit: I havent finished the story yet, and hearing the rest of the video I am starting to feel concerned
I’ve been enjoying my time as well… and finding out that my current builds are going to need a complete rework lol
A lot of builds are… especially for solo play.
The only real complaint I have is when the game seems to work against me when playing.
Jump not working right, a la seeming to hit things that aren’t there and the like, and being yoinked backwards for no reasons. That sort of thing.
That’s been a cause of many a death for me during the story.
The only two lines I laughed at in the dlc were Osiris getting cut off in the drop pod and *SPOILER******* our guardian getting spagettified during the training sequence
I'm enjoying it. Hopefully we do get our answers soon. I've been here since the beginning and I'd love to get some explanation on everything. I'm hoping it comes out in the near future. Nimbus is cringe! My first thought during the campaign.
Since you took a break your opinion should be higher than normal, as a player who played 3-4 days a week during the dlc we look forward to the next dlc to keep up fresh and to cure the burnout. Unfortunately lightfall didn’t do that for me
I get the disappointment for the campaign but honestly I’m having a blast. Strand is fun as hell when you do as the campaign suggests and play into its strengths and play style it can be devastating. Grapple is intuitive as hell and plays perfectly into my very mobile very airborn warlock playstyle. The grapple getting refunded when grappling to a tangle is fucking awesome. With some creativity and setup, the cornerstones of playing a warlock, it can be as effective if not more effective at base than some of the other subclasses fully set up. Now without a healing option like void, solar or stasis it’s survivability isn’t as good so late endgame viability is a little in question. But for stuff like campaigns, normal raids, seasonal content it should be absolutely amazing. This dlc was definitely more focused on strand than the actual story.
Hunter can heal AND go invisible with the grapple into a powered melee attack. It’s great. I wouldn’t have survived the solo legend campaign without it.
???? Solar and void make strand look like dirt. Wdym?
Mobility is still Dawnblade's strength, and Void has blink and nova warp which is insanely hard to deal with given that much mobility.
Strand sucks, titan got the best of the 3 and even strand titan is kind of mid.
Ik the point is mobility but Warlocks do have a rift you can use to heal and spawn threadlings
@@thecyanpanda241 it’s just very inconvenient to use. On solar I always preferred Phoenix dive
@@thecyanpanda241 The threadlings are bad. Warlock got the worst end of the stick with strand classes
The vidoc with all of the devs with the pronouns and people listed as she/her when they clearly were not should’ve been a major red flag for myself and everyone else
I’ve seen a lot of takes on both ends of the spectrum. Honestly I’ve been having a blast.
Liked the campaign (not as much as WQ, but better than most)
Gameplay has improved A LOT. But I’m a little worried about the variety of buildcrafting and the place of Strand in the meta.
Overall, a solid 8/10 for me but man it has been wild in social media
the problem is that you are only 1 and the vast majority of the community is disappointed and upset
The gameplay got worse and this is one of the worst campaigns, the campaign is probably the bottom with shadow keep.
@@porritos1063 well, idk about you but I’ve seen a lot of people not upset (on twitter, I don’t use Reddit), but I totally understand frustrations, even if I don’t agree with them
Yeah Witch Queen blew the campaign out of the water. Besides Tormenters imo.
@@TRiniLukey how did gameplay got worse for you?? I’m genuinely curious. As I said, the only worrying points for me are buildcrating and strand, but I’ll wait to see if someone makes a crazy build.
For the campaign (overall) it’s better than most. It’s weak point was narrative and dialogue (I also agree) but not worse than Shadowkeep lmao, well at least for me. That being said, a campaign is more than just the story, encounterwise, I enjoyed some of the missions (strand ones were only downside). First and last missions were great (Calus was underwhelming tho).
I constantly felt like I was playing the boring night time exploration parts of Halo ODST.
i also feel this is the typical "your not going to please everyone" but lets call it what it REALLY is...its a HELL of a lot better than what destiny was. EVeryones questions will be answered in the final shape, and i think people will come to realize at that moment, it was worth the wait, the build up. sometimes patience is worth a shot lol
And this is why Bungie is running this high buy in single purchase model: The quality of the product doesn't matter as much. They made their money with the fans and some hyped up bystanders WAY before the product was actually released or reviewed. This has to stop honestly, but only the community can do this by not preordering and throwing money at the eververse.
It's crazy to see so many people not enjoying strand. For me I love it and going through the story I loved every moment we got to use it. I know it's different when you actually unlock it after the story, but again I love it. I also play as titan and I'm definitely going to main this subclass for awhile. To each their own, I understand the frustration though. (also I am a solo player)
It’s kind of what happened with Light 3.0’s transition. We’re comparing the base form of strand to the max potential of our previous sub classes.
@J-manli1989 this isn't at all what happened with light 3.0. That doesn't even make sense. Strand is just bad.
@@FlashesSoccer011
Strand has only been out for 2 days and not everyone has all the aspects and fragments. That is objectively not enough time to compare the highest potential of strand to the known highest potential of our previous subclasses.
Additionally, there’s the cool down and stat needs to factor in.
@@FlashesSoccer011 strand warlock is already busted in pvp and pve and there’s a crazy hunter build for pve and all the abilities on hunter r really good in pvp. And this is barely at its highest potential
@@FlashesSoccer011 you just don’t like it and just leave it at that, people thought stasis was useless and “bad” in pve (not pvp) when it launched, but when the fragments became available it’s gotten better and better until this update since you have to mess with the mods and some don’t work the same or just don’t replace what was previously available. Point is that strand is good, and not strong but is also missing %90 of its build potential which I already have a build in mind that will make my titan melee stronger, instant up time from orbs and armour mods working together and generating orbs from the melee to feed into again, that’s just the surface of that build as you can get woven mail from orbs which gives you dmg resist and melee energy which allows me to keep the melee charged and continue to make orbs.
The story and game is finished behind the scenes, and there’s obviously not enough of it to give you more answers in this DLC, they are just gonna drip feed it you for AAA game prices every so often, not even a crumb of new pvp either, it’s criminal they have been telling this story for almost 10 years and can’t respect the fans, scammy and distasteful imo
